This is a book that has often been recommended for years but I never bothered to read it until now. I was not disappointed. The book paints such a detailed picture about how various identities shift and change, and how we decide who we are. The main character is likeable but flawed and easy to root for as we watch him go from a bullied kid on his reservation to a celebrated student at a neighboring white high school and how he struggles to maintain his identity through it. I enjoyed it so much that I read it in one sitting.
It was a little confusing. They didn't explain how anything worked and there was little build up to the climax (which was basically the last 10 pages). Also not a big fan of this art style.
It's a nice read and the illustration is good but it's so focused on setting up the next sequel that nothing really happens except it introduces his character
It's a nice read with an okay "mystery" that is solved very easily with little build up. The biggest issue is that it's very unclear what actually happens to her. We see one full page with fragments of a scene but it is never clear what actually happened and how she became involved. It is a very quick read and a fun YA version of a Barbara Gordon adventure.
This was a much better thriller than I expected. The first two thirds of the book are meh. Not terrible, gives you enough to know something is off, but spends most of the time setting up for two of the red herrings. The last 3rd of the book is where things really pick up. There is red herring after red herring but they work to keep you interested. I went with 4 stars instead of 5 because one of the final big twists is literally something from left field that you could have never put together. It is not a bad ending, but it does take away from some of the build up. Overall a good thriller.
This was a pretty good novelization and was later turned into an episode. Being written from the point of view of Natalie was a little odd and resulted in a good portion of the book being a romantic subplot that falls flat. The mystery solving was nice and the humor was pretty good. I'm going to keep reading through the novelizations.
Beautiful artwork, varied styles in the book, a nice reimagining of Dr. Freeze's story. The characters are a little flat but due to how short it is, there is not too much detail that can be added. Overall it's a nice tragic love story.
This is a pretty good representation of (Alice's part in) the book. The artwork left a little to be desired, but overall it was enjoyable. It managed to work in the adult content without being too explicit. I felt like there were some important parts of the book that were left out but that makes sense due to how condensed this is.
