This cult centric book will creep you out in parts!

Maeve and Andrea are cousins and are saved from the Mother Collective cult when they are around 8 and 11 respectively. They lost track of one another for several years until a DNA website connects them again.

This book just has this whole creepy vibe to it.
I guessed several things before they came out but it made me even more fascinated with all the moving parts found in here. I felt Maeve was so naive through most of her interactions with Andrea, but felt she finally was able to stand up for herself in the end

There are some parts that just disturbed me but they also kept me in the edge of my seat.

Thanks to the author for reaching out to send me a copy of his book.

This was a unique look into the question "What if you got a second chance to get the dream you always wanted?".

Rai Starr is the lead of a band when an illness sidelines him and changes his life. When a TV show called Remarkable comes calling and asking him to use their technology to go back and do it again. But there are bad consequences.

It's a very interesting book and it was a quick read. I love the music aspect/industry but definitely wouldn't want to be involved in it.

This is only my 2nd ever read graphic novel but it was a good one. It made me laugh and it made me learn.

I love the author put some of her own life in this book but it's not all autobiographical.

Huda knows who she is or so she thinks. Until her family moves to Dearborn, MI and she realizes she's not just the "hijab girl". She now has to figure out what she's not (definitely not a "hijab gamer"!) to figure out what she is.

I liked that through her experiences, Huda learns more about her religion than she ever did before. This book is relatable to anyone who needs to figure out who they are but it's more personal than that.

The line between hate and love is very thin and that's at the heart of this book.

Josh and Lucy both work as assistants to Ceo's of a merged book publishing company. They hate each other. They play little games while sitting across from one another day after day after day.

Then as they are both up for the same promotion, they decide that maybe they can try to be friends. After all, one of them might be the boss of the other soon.

I love the way these two interact with each other. Josh can be smug but Lucy is downright hilarious!

I enjoyed the banter, the barbs, and the steam level. I can't wait to watch the Netflix show

After liking Darling Rose Gold, I was jumping at the chance to read this new one by the author!

I love the cult aspect of Wildwood with a manipulative leader at its core. I love the past timeline with the mysterious speaker of it. Whoever this was had a very mean/abusive father that made them earn points for doing hard this throughout the day before they were allowed to sleep. And this person's mother just stood by. I should have seen who it was while reading but it took me until about 70% to figure it out.

I also love that we get to see Kit before her sister comes to try and talk her out of this place and when her sister actually makes it.

Manipulations, lies, and twists made this a very heart pounding read.

Hattie is probably my favorite lady of this series. She SPEAKS her mind and it's often wise and funny and everything that always to her character.

Lucian is such a great Scotsman. He has the attitude. He's a shrewd business man who made his money coming from nothing but doesn't hold the power that comes with money.

They are forced to marry and Hattie's plan for her future husband go out the window as she feels Lucian is not anything like she imagined.

I loved that they traveled to Scotland and what Hattie sets in motion to help a coal mine working town is amazing. They also get to know each other very well in and out of the bedroom 🔥

This was an interesting mix of a book with fae and Native American folklore.

Cat becomes thrust into a world of fae and their hunters when her mother dies of an apparent heart attack. Cat doesn't believe it so wants to investigate. The medical examiner is not what he seems.

There were a lot of characters in this book and it becomes confusing a bit. I felt the world wasn't as well built as like ACOTAR but it didn't require much to tell about the world which they live in.

I am so happy I got to read this book early as it was so fun.

I loved that this book focused mostly on the half sisters and their relationship. I loved Blake immediately. I just felt for her and her situation throughout her life. I loved to hate Kat. She seems so self centered and is unbelievably rude and jumps to conclusions, but I felt she had grown by the end. She just needed to be told a few things for her to look more inward towards herself and how and why she acts the way she does.

I liked that they found a way to (sort of) peacefully coexist while each putting their own individual talents into the beach house.

Of course, I liked the romances for each of them. Both men are DELICIOUS in their own ways but I felt more love towards Noah than Henry.. though I appreciated them both and what they brought to their relationships with the girls.

I admired the lives of these two women (who were real people!)

Virginia is an American wed to a Parisian man living in France. When war starts, her husband begs her to leave for America but she vows to stay with him and to do what she can to help the Allied war efforts.

Violette marries and loses her husband in the war and becomes an agent with the SOE.

They both were so brave in their individual missions. My heart just broke reading about them being captured and sent to Ravensbrück camp.

I really liked this story for two reasons:
-the two love interests are both in their 40s and widowed which is an age and situation I don't really read of in Regency books
-a Lord pretending to be a Valet (Kenneth) just so he can ride horses with freedom not allowed one of his station and a woman (Rebecca) who works in households after her husband dies but they find a comfort in each other even when "society" would look down on them.

The writing in this book just flowed and it's natural and beautiful. I felt bad for Rebecca.. She helped her father (who is an artist and does silhouettes) but is mostly drunk and mean. He never gave her the credit due for her role in his "artistry". I love how Kenneth stands up for her and never cowers from this mean man.
The baroness who helps them both at the end was a favorite. She shares a little of herself and helps the two see that they are good for one another, no matter what society would think of them!
