Pierre- who wouldn't want to fake a marriage to a hot Frenchman, non? Plus, he writes some of the best romances even though he hid behind a pen name.
Tasha- a bookstagrammer who also records audiobooks and offers other services to authors.

I loved everything from the meet cute at his book signing (after outing himself as the man behind Amelie de Pierre) to quickly becoming good friends to how much they truly care for one another from the start. When they kiss for the first time without needing to "show the world their marriage is real" 🥰 so swoony and I love that they just threw out rules they had just set to make this charade viable.

Just a great feel good book with great characters all around
dark slow-paced

This is a hard one to review because it's both a book four and a book one in two series by this author. So seeing as this was my first read by her. I was kind of confused ..
All I could think of the whole time when I was reading it, was it sounds like the plot of Wicked! I was excited when I knew Isra, the MC, was a witch and she was at a witch school but that was more just background information I felt.

Almost right away she becomes friends with Everilda and then falls into a weird love triangle with her and a mortal named Jonathan. But Jonathan is only in love with Everilda because of a spell? placed on him. There's also this raven named Astrid who is tasked with trailing Isra buy some higher power in this world. And some of his dialogue seems to be internal but some external, but I'm not sure if the external was actually being heard by others.

There were so many things that could have been cut like explaining Isra's hair almost every chance we get. The whole time others were mentioning how Isra is going to be this dark power and I felt maybe this book would have been better if we had just seen her in that dark power the whole time.

Felix and Gracie are absolute perfection!

Gracie, a middle school teacher and cellist, swore she could fall for a man as long as he didn't play hockey. Felix is her gorgeous next door neighbor who plays hockey as his profession with Harvest Hollow's Appies.

They never interacted much together until a major setback in her apartment leads to her moving into Felix's guest room. Since they now are spending so much time together, they start to learn about each other. How much Felix loves classical movies and cooking and reading. How much Gracie wishes she could be seen more for her musical talent in her family of hockey loving fans.

They are both sweet and patient with each other. I loved to see Gracie's walls crumbling slowly and Felix coming out of his shell a bit more. There are a lot of serious issues in the background of this story but that weave nicely into the lives of our MCs.

I loved the bonus content for them on Jenny's website. I am so excited that Jenny, along with Emma St. Clair will be bringing us more Appie guy's stories!
dark emotional tense fast-paced

This was a whirlwind of emotions in this dark new adult read.

London is back where she grew up after a scandal left her life ruined. She just wants to get through this last year, write for the school paper and go to college. That all changes when she is tasked with a story about 2 hockey stars while at a game in Alaska, but a tragedy leaves her and some surviving classmates on an island.

As hope dwindles of rescue, loyalties will be tested while trying to survive. London needs to try and survive inside the twins' dark web.

This book was so disturbing at times and it reminded me of Lord Of the Flies (but SO MUCH BETTER!).  I can't wait for more after that ending!
lighthearted fast-paced

I had high hopes for this but it wasn't as great as I thought it might be.

I thought Sera and Wes jumped too quickly into a physical relationship especially the way her accused her of things with his Grandpa.
I wish we had more of the bookbinding prices explained. I wish we had more of the WiCKed group of friends and their dynamics.

I thought this book would have benefitted better from having the relationship be a small part and the friend group larger. The way it abruptly ended also after certain declarations was just too weird.

Kinfolk was about blood family and found/made family. It had goodness at its heart.

"Nub" Taylor is a man that has had run-ins with the law too many times to count and the town drunk who wasn't involved in raising his only daughter, Emily. Minnie is a young girl working at a Waffle House and who finds herself pregnant. She also has a wonderful singing voice.

These two will come into each other's lives and improve things. I liked the care that Nub gave to Minnie and that it helps soften his relationship with Emily. He really was a caring soul that just needed to give up his vices to truly allow that soul to shine through.

I really enjoyed every minute in this wonderful Southern, feel good novel!
emotional hopeful sad fast-paced

This novel was so good and I absolutely love that it was inspired by the great "Hey There Delilah" by the Plain White T's.

I loved the past and present timelines. In one we get to see Sara, a young Jewish girl that falls for Eddie (who isn't Jewish) where her family vacations every summer. They have to keep it a secret because of her strict mother. In the other one, we get Cecilia who writes for Rolling Stone and gets a clue to one of the greatest musical hits at the time and the muse who inspired it.

This was so heartwarming and tender though at times a bit sad. I felt so much for these characters and their different circumstances. I gasped often, I teared up often, and there were just so many emotions reading this. I will for a long time have "Hey There Delilah" playing in my head and I'm not mad about it. Make sure when you read this book, you read the forward by Tom Higgenson ♥️

This was a super fun story to get lost in. Cassie is a writer at a women's online publication and after meeting a rival owner of a men's sexist e-zine, Jack, and reading her Grandmother's antiquated book from the 1950s dating guide, she decided she will use the tips to ensnare Jack in his "sexist ways" and expose/embarrass him.

What follows is a hilarious "How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days"-esque  adventure. Everything Cassie tried from the book tips backfires because Jack is a genuinely nice guy.

I like Cassie and what her conviction allows her to do once she realizes what publishing any article could do to her budding relationship. I really liked Jack a whole lot but didn't quite understand fully why he stayed at a publication that went against his nature even after he explained.

But this book I read in a span of hours and I really enjoyed every minute of it.
mysterious fast-paced

This was a great thriller mystery. Will is at the center and he's about to be fired by his boss, Chet, from a biotech company. Then his boss suffers a stroke and no one knows what he planned for Will.

I liked Will. He made a very big mistake in his personal life (which he'll have to atone for) but I really liked how he stepped up for his boss's family and helped them through the transition of Chet's hospital stay and beyond.
He really stepped up in finding out the "why" of how he could have even been considered to be fired. He always kept his cool and was just so integral to the deep story.

I think I'd like to read more by Ms. Morris as she is a talented writer that kept me begging for more!
