sarahsbookstack 's review for:
Her Dark Love
by Isra Sravenheart
dark
slow-paced
This is a hard one to review because it's both a book four and a book one in two series by this author. So seeing as this was my first read by her. I was kind of confused ..
All I could think of the whole time when I was reading it, was it sounds like the plot of Wicked! I was excited when I knew Isra, the MC, was a witch and she was at a witch school but that was more just background information I felt.
Almost right away she becomes friends with Everilda and then falls into a weird love triangle with her and a mortal named Jonathan. But Jonathan is only in love with Everilda because of a spell? placed on him. There's also this raven named Astrid who is tasked with trailing Isra buy some higher power in this world. And some of his dialogue seems to be internal but some external, but I'm not sure if the external was actually being heard by others.
There were so many things that could have been cut like explaining Isra's hair almost every chance we get. The whole time others were mentioning how Isra is going to be this dark power and I felt maybe this book would have been better if we had just seen her in that dark power the whole time.
