Kinfolk

emotional
hopeful
reflective
fast-paced
Kinfolk was about blood family and found/made family. It had goodness at its heart.
"Nub" Taylor is a man that has had run-ins with the law too many times to count and the town drunk who wasn't involved in raising his only daughter, Emily. Minnie is a young girl working at a Waffle House and who finds herself pregnant. She also has a wonderful singing voice.
These two will come into each other's lives and improve things. I liked the care that Nub gave to Minnie and that it helps soften his relationship with Emily. He really was a caring soul that just needed to give up his vices to truly allow that soul to shine through.
I really enjoyed every minute in this wonderful Southern, feel good novel!
