I liked this family and watch them as they go through 3 of 4 kids winning a Powerball lottery.

It's not easy for any of the siblings even with more cash. They each have struggles and they each look at the money in a different way. They have to get used to being recognized since their televised win.  Their relationships with themselves and others are very tested.

I love how in the end, they were all able to manage everything better after lots of help from outsiders and each other.  I'm all in for family dramas and this was a great one! Great Jewish rep too

This was so cute! I loved the ABC dating plan and how hilariously funny a few of those dates were (the escape room has me giggling!). I don't get why Lilly and Bella chose SUCH, for lack of a nicer word, WEIRDOS for her to go out with. I don't get why Amelia stayed with Robbie so long, like at all! He was a tool. She totally should have blown him off that first night for Jake.

Jake is a total sweetie and such a good guy. He stowed his feelings for Amelia away. But he always becomes just there for her throughout this story. I loved the movie Love, Actually inspiration for parts. I really liked Amelia's love for Gilmore Girls here. I'm so glad she finally got into better relationships with her parents near the end.

I missed reading Bella's story so I need to go back to read that but this is a cute series!

From the title (the words are in the song Tale As Old As Time) to the cover (hello clock, candlestick, teapot, and cup) to the MCs (Bellamy=Belle and Oliver "Beast" to the football world= Beast) you can see and recognize the Beauty and The Beast retelling in almost every page.

I liked that this was in the modern world with an AI being our "magical servant". I liked how the "curse" was used in relation to Oliver from his grandfather. I loved that we have a woman in charge of the home renovations and Bellamy is such a great lead. It was a fun and spicy romp in this book. I loved all the characters (not Grandfather #sorrynotsorry) and laughed and swooned all the way through.

I really like when an amateur "detective" helps to solve a case alongside the police. Venus is quite the character. I love that she runs a music store called Oldies & Goodies and that one of her favorite things is to ask her fellow townsfolk "what's your favorite song today?"

When a murder occurs at the local whaling museum, Venus becomes the number one suspect but that doesn't stop her from pursuing who really did it herself.

The town is full of whimsy and delight at its heart. I enjoyed spending my time in the seaside town and watching as Venus does her thing, her way!

Colton is trying to expand his company but being married would get him there.... Too bad he has no interest.
Jane is struggling to make it in Hollywood and keep her past hidden when a life-changing, in many ways, job comes along.

But contracts are signed and they have to start fake dating, have a fast engagement and fast marriage.

Colton is so sweet that when he sees where she's living, he fast tracks her moving into his place. He's respectful and gives Jane her own wing of the house. He even deals with his allergies for Jane's cat.

I love so many parts of this. I love the Monopoly game room, watching these two fall for each other and the fun they have and the serious conversations about themselves. I love the appearance of Wade and Roxy. I love how Wade talks sense into Colton as he just went through the same things himself 🤩

I just adore this whole series so much!
slow-paced

This book is a very slow paced read. Diamond is a Black teen whose dad disappeared 7 years ago and her mom (who is not always as present as she could be for her daughter) wants to declare him legally dead to get insurance money.

The town where they live, they are the only Black folks so there is a lot of prejudice towards them. Diamond is also bigger so she's constantly made fun of because of her weight by other teens.

Diamond gets to know about her Dad through letters from 2 generations of women in her line.

This was a little bit spooky, magical, and mysterious. Amazing atmosphere that had me fully immersed in the story...and that ending.... Do we get MORE? I would really like more!

Weatherly comes from a line of death talkers - they can talk death out of someone so that they live.. But there are rules to it too. Her cousin recently died and though ruled an accident, she believes it was murder.

Now after not being able to save someone, people of this small town are even more suspicious of her and won't believe anything else about her cousin's death. But I loved how determined and not deterred she was. I love the help of the mysterious Rook- half his life as a man/half as a crow. I'm grateful for Davis and Oscar who both help in their own ways for Weatherly to find out what she needs to.

I loved going on this journey of Mimi's many ups and downs as she navigates love and work and friendships in the wild ride.

When her guy proposes but then his ex is involved in an accident the same day... Mimi's world gets turned upside down. Suddenly he's back with his family helping them navigate this medical issue and seemingly has no time for her (except at nights and for love making).

I really liked that she found this VERY unconventional co-op daycare situation when she uproots to follow her fiance to a new city. The people there are so quirky and loveable. Jaime and his daughter Alice take up space in her life and heart and really help her realize what she wants.

Sometimes this book was just messy (in a good way!) but so is life and it felt so real and I just wanted to jump in and hug Mimi!

This was a great book that showed two female spies after WW2 still working to catch Nazi fugitives that escaped but did work in concentration camps and being Hitler sympathizers.

Arlette and Josie are just amazing at what they do. I learned a lot through them. This story mostly takes place in 1952 but there are flashbacks to the war. I really liked Arlette 's quest to also find the son that was stolen from her in the camps.

What they do is still very dangerous.  I was flipping pages just to see what lies ahead for them. There were times when I just thought how bad it was going to end for them but they endured and were so strong.

This was a super cute Cinderella type modern retelling. I love that Luna and Henry get to know each other first through gaming (where they don't know who the other really is) and then in small interactions in real life (most of which are cut short by something).

Luna is a sweet girl. So much so that she's always taken advantage of (i.e. through the twins 😠) and some don't think she's worthy of anything (I e. an ex that said she wasn't ambitious enough for him but she went to take care of an ill family member!). I loved that Henry didn't make her feel like she was less.

I really loved Aunt Agatha. Who wouldn't love a woman who dresses like the genre of book she is reading! She just knew how great of a relationship Luna and Henry would have but didn't interfere and let it run how it did. The small town of Brookhaven is full of some fun characters (not the twins 🤣) . I'm very excited for the next book in the series!
