I have to warn those that don't like this but this is a slow burn novel.
That being said...I liked it a lot!

In the 1600s- Mary is married to an older widower Thomas. He is violent towards her but he's so revered by the community that no one believes her when she tells them. When Thomas stabs Mary in the hand with a fork (or as they call it the "devil's tines", she decides to petition the courts for a divorce. She goes through the trial and no one that believes her (which are few) is believed themselves so she isn't granted what she wants.

Then because of increasing accusations she is again put on trial to be tried as a witch or consorting with the devil.

This book made me so mad that because she is a woman and her husband is a man, that he is the one they look to for the truth! I am in turn fascinated by the "easy" way that one can accuse another of witchcraft or evil acts and be so convincing that everyone else takes it immediately for truth. No evidence really needed.

I just love Nancy's steampunk fairy tale retellings! This is a steampunk Cinderella and the fourth in a series.

Emme is an advocate for shifters -humans that shift to another form (vampires, werewolves and the like) a few times a month. She believes that the non-violent ones deserve more rights.

Oliver is a detective inspector and Emme's nemesis. When Emme keeps getting threatened as she is headed to a convention in Scotland to speak for shifter's rights, Oliver is tasked as her bodyguard.

There are many attempts to prevent her from getting to Edinburgh and as she and Oliver navigate their way, they discovery they may not actually hate each other.

They are such a fun couple! I love a little enemies to lovers (this is a clean read so just lots of kissing!) Oliver is such a great protector and he's so gentle. Emme speaks her mind and is very great advocate for the shifters.

What a beautiful sequel! I may have enjoyed this a bit more then the first... It doesn't happen all that often.

Jet is all set to become Mehstra after winning The Crossing. But it turns out, both Zahru and Kasta are marked by the Gods to rule... That means they will have to learn and work together. But Zahru suspects that Kasta is lying... She just has to find a way to prove it.

I'll be honest and say I wasn't sure what was going to happen at the end. I liked the whole journey but the end 10% had my mouth wide open! In all honesty too, I got to read both endings. I had it downloaded and finished and then came here, see that the author had REVISED the epilogue. So I download again and read the revision. I don't know which I loved more but this new one definitely sets up a possible third....I hope! I need TeamJet to win out.

Pick this book up for sure and make sure you have read The Kinder Poison too !

Thanks to Celadon Books for an early copy.

With short chapters, this book flies by!
Mariana goes back to Cambridge when her niece's best friend is murdered. There she meets Professor Fosca and soon becomes convinced he's the murderer . He's the leader of a secret society of women called The Maidens.

I love all the secrecy surrounding The Maidens. I love the Greek tragedies I get to learn more about. I was way off in my guess of what happens in the book, but I highly enjoyed it all. I love the little glimpses into The Silent Patient. Well very done.

Oh my heart, this was a beautiful adult romance novel that deals with heavy issues!
(TW suicide, depression, abelist ideals)

Anna has lost Ben her fiancé. Grief stricken and feeling the need to leave, she decides to finally take the trip on his boat through the Caribbean Islands they had planned.
Trouble is Anna doesn't know all she needs to know to sail on the open seas.

She places an ad and hires Keane (a beautiful Irish man) to help her sail. Keanu had a prosthetic on his right leg from an accident but he's been sailing for a long time and knows what to do.

They become fast friends as they spend weeks together. They both work through their situations of grief in their own way and slowly find love with each other.

I want to set sail in the Caribbean! This is full of beautiful imagery. I love that Anna was scared to move on even when she discovered her feelings for Keane. She has to process so much before she can move on.

3.25 Thanks to letstalkbookspromo for the gifted book.

Wow, this book is like a train wreck that you can't look away from! But I did enjoy it.

Molly and Gabe have been dating for 2 years. When Gabe has something to tell Molly, she knows it's a marriage proposal. When he tells her he finished his book and it's being published instead, she's a bit disappointed. When she finds out it's basically a love letter of a book to his ex Talia, she starts to get paranoid and jealous.

I wanted her to dump Gabe like right away after finding out about the book! Gabe, in my opinion, wrote just a horrible, eye rolling and cringey book.... Even if it hadn't been inspired by his ex! Not a book I'd read.
I was hoping that things would go south between these two and I wasn't disappointed in what happens at the end....I was relieved. I just love a strong, independent woman and I wish it had happened sooner (and probably even more strong and better) for Molly.

What a great start to a great trilogy! I love everything about this magical mysterious game. I love Scarlett and how much love and kindness she has. I love Tella's scrappy personality. I think Julian is so great.

What a thrilling ride. This is my first book by Barclay but it won't be my last. I read 300 pages in one afternoon!

Miles is a tech genius/millionaire who finds out he has Huntington's disease. So many years ago, he donated at a sperm bank and finds he has at least 9 biological children out there that have a 50% chance of inheriting the same disease.

But soon, he finds they are being hunted and killed off one by one. Who is taking away their chance to inherit?

Wow, this was just so twisty and even though I guessed a lot of what's revealed at the end, I was so enthralled by the story. I liked Chloe, his first found child and how she doesn't care about any money she might get. I like the two of them trying to save the others together.

I really liked that the girls-Samiah, London, and Taylor became such fast friends after that stupid jerk Craig led them all on. And so funny how it all came out on Twitter.
I really loved the showcasing of Samiah as a strong young, Black woman in a technology field. It's sad that she had to bust her butt so much to get the recognition that a young, White male would get workout working as hard. It's a very sad really but I loved seeing her thrive in her field!
Daniel is a really good guy at heart. I didn't totally agree with them jumping into the relationship without Daniel telling her the truth of his actual job, but grew to love him anyway!

This was a cute book.
Sunny Song is addicted to her phone. She uploads several times a day, she has a YouTube channel she makes videos for... Always chasing that high that internet fame can bring.
When a live video ends in an embarrassing way, Sunny is facing getting kicked out of school. So her parents decide to send her to a digital detox camp in rural Iowa.

The camp would be hard to live at for me. They have to be self sustainable and there is no Wifi available or phones allowed.

I like the lesson that Sunny learns about fame and what it can do to a person. We have a meal girl that is only known as Side Braid. She really hates Sunny and that never really gets explained and I wish it had. Sunny is falling all over herself to get close to Theo, the camp director's son. I had to laugh because she was at awkward as I would have been in the same situation with a guy I liked.

The old people that come over from a retirement home were my favorite part of this book. They use phrases like "hash browns" instead of hashtags and "tic tac" for Tik Tok !
