I liked this book more than I thought I would. I love the unexpected friendship between Chloe, Smith, and Rory and slowly learning more about their history. I really enjoyed that there were some familiar elements to this YA romance but there were some surprises too. Definitely worth the read!

It was a very in depth look at the experience of immigrants in the united states and their expectations when they come here. Things got pretty tense near the end but I really enjoyed it.

Very funny and lighthearted poems with some encouraging messages sprinkled in. The illustrations are funny too. There were more mentions of death than I remember because I don't remember any at all.

In this second poetry collection by Neil Hilborn, he talks about relationships, mental health, and being a traveling poet. I really like the reoccurring images throughout the collection and Neil’s honestly regarding his mental health. I admire is ability to add humor to these serious subjects. His poems offer hope to readers who might be struggling with mental health as well.

I love these books and the important topics they cover with such ease! So good to see that a mental health journey to recovery isn’t just an uphill climb but people have their low days too. And you will have bad days. Also good to see Charlie realize that he can also rely on friends and family. I was glad to see Nick call out his father and for his mother to scold his dad and his brother too. Charlie’s little sister is awesome.

These books make me squeal with how cute they are! I also love how it tackles the complicated subjects of coming out and caring for someone with an eating disorder.

I was surprised to find that when I got to the end of this book I really liked it. It tackles heavy topics with grace and without too much detail. There is strong symbolism too. The relationship between the sisters seemed realistic and sweet. The Fernweh women are not to be messed with. We also loved the queer representation and discussion about being unsure about sexuality.
One thing I didn’t like is that we as the audience were kind of beaten over the head with hints about Georgina’s power. It does bother me a great deal that at one point in the book Georgina says she could care less when she means she couldn’t care less. That’s a pet peeve of mine. I also noticed extra words in some of the sentences. This book just needed better editors.

If you liked The Fault in Our Stars then you'll probably like this book. Personally, I didn't enjoy it but that might be because I'm no longer in the target audience. I did enjoy Madeline's lists and studies in the book. However, I didn't like that Olly seemed practically perfect in every way. I called the twist and didn't like the ending. I hated how Madeline treated her mom at the end, like yeah what her mom did was terrible but she was dealing with a lot of trauma and Madeline was all she had left. I didn't understand Madeline's complete lack of empathy.

Super informative and accessible. This was written a while ago but the behavior described is still happening today. Reading this made me seriously look at my past relationships and also notice problematic behavior in the other men in my life. It helped me realize that nothing that happened to me was my fault. It was sad to read about how only a handful of men completely change their behavior. There are so hard truths in this book. I recommend this to everyone who had an abusive person in their life.

Adorable! I could definitely see myself back in high school in Charlie’s insecurities. Their friendship is so pure and cute and Nick is so nice to Charlie and encourages him! The ending hurt and I need to read the next on immediately!!
