This book hit so close to home!
APOLOGIES THAT NEVER CAME!
This isn’t going to be like my other reviews because I didn’t dislike anything about this book!
The poems weren’t short sentences that you could find on Pinterest (EX: Milk & Honey). They were long, heartfelt poems from the bottom of our author’s heart.
The poems weren’t specifically for women, nor for men. No matter what gender you are, or if you’re non-binary, the poem would be talking about you.
This book hit so so so close to home. A while back I’d had my heart broken, and I just felt like this book really understood what I went through. I cried numerous times while reading this book.

This book was extraordinary!
“ALL THE STORIES ARE TRUE.”
ᴡʜᴀᴛ ɪ ʟɪᴋᴇᴅ:
Let’s start with the plot. Mad props to Cassandra Clare for even thinking of this sort of complex idea that we might be living in a world where demons roam around freely and we don’t even know it.
It’s also crazy to think of these characters. They had so much thought put into them and their stories. All of her characters had a life planned out for them.
The plot twist at the end (if you’ve read the book you’d know what I’m talking about) was so unexpected! I never would’ve seen it coming.
The writing was well done and very expansive. Cassandra Clare managed to throw a bunch of new information at you in a second while still keeping it elegant.
ᴡʜᴀᴛ ɪ ᴅɪᴅɴᴛ ʟɪᴋᴇ:
I did not, and I mean DID NOT, like Clary as much I was hoping I would. At first I was rooting for her and supporting her decisions, but towards the middle I began growing tired of her. At the end of the book I could barely tolerate her.
Another thing I didn’t enjoy was the romance. I didn’t ship the girl with the guy and thought the guy deserved better than the girl.

• the lesson in this is really great and unique. it shows just what can happen when you put yourself out there for popularity

This book was so fluffy!
“AM I WORTHY?”
ᴡʜᴀᴛ ɪ ʟɪᴋᴇᴅ:
The story was super cute! I enjoyed how fluffy it was. I always seemed to smile when the characters were together.
The execution. It was great! I was kind of skeptical going into this book because it is quite hard to pull off adding an app completely made up into a book, but Donna Cooner managed to do it again. (Her other book Screenshot also has a made up app.)
It had a good pacing. Things happened realistically: exactly how they would’ve happened in real life.
ᴡʜᴀᴛ ɪ ᴅɪᴅɴᴛ ʟɪᴋᴇ:
The aspect of the quinceanera was brought in to late, I think. It was introduced half-way through the book which I wasn’t a fan of. It also wasn’t explored at all. It was sort of just there to benefit the characters. Also, as a Hispanic young lady, I think that it wasn’t executed a well as it should’ve been.
I wish we could’ve seen more of our beloved main character! She wasn’t shown as much as she should’ve been and we only really learned a fraction of her.

This book was not good.
The amount of sex jokes and scenes was unbearable. I don’t recommend for ages 14 or under. It was not good, and a waste of my time and yours.

• amazingly written! i loved the way that the POV was in that of a teenage spy girl’s mind
• the plot was great. the twist at the end left me wondering where things with Josh and Cam would go
• the characters are super loveable, it was impossible to walk away from this book
• the emotion in this book felt real. i felt for Cam and i felt for her relationship
CONS:
• the way that there would be !!! 3 exclamation marks and “OMG HE’S COMING!” annoyed me
• too short! 284 went by in the blink of an eye
