This book was so eye-opening!
“LIKE, YOU COULD BE ON BROADWAY!”
ᴡʜᴀᴛ ɪ ʟɪᴋᴇᴅ:
I loved the two LGBTQ+ characters in this book. They were very good people and showed how no matter what you identify as or what you like we are all equal.
The drawings were really cute! I also did enjoy how colorful the art was.
ᴡʜᴀᴛ ɪ ᴅɪᴅɴᴛ ʟɪᴋᴇ:
I wasn’t a fan of the ending. It was cute, and a happy ending for our beloved characters, but it didn’t really satisfy me. I wish we could’ve seen more of the characters after their story. Second book, possibly?
OVERALL RATING? 3.3

This book made me feel bipolar!
“WOULD IT HURT YOU TO BELIEVE THAT NOT EVERYONE HAD SHITTY INTENTIONS?”
ᴡʜᴀᴛ ɪ ᴅɪᴅ ʟɪᴋᴇ:
Will’s character development. I didn’t like her in the beginning of the book at all. I couldn’t stand her. Towards the middle I was beginning to warm up to Will. At the end I fell in love.
Millie and Elle are the only reasons I held on. These two gals were my pals til the end. They made me smile every time the even breathed.
The ending was my favorite part! I loved the way this book ended on and I really enjoyed the friendship at the end. It was one of my favorite things I’ve ever read.
ᴡʜᴀᴛ ɪ ᴅɪᴅɴᴛ ʟɪᴋᴇ:
Like I said in the beginning, Will at the start of the book. I didn’t like how selfish she was. Her excuse was always, “I’m fat.” And no, being overweight is not a bad thing and I am not trying to bash you. The thing is, you shouldn’t use that as an excuse for your actions.
IT TOOK SO DAMN LONG TO GET TO THE ACTUAL PLOT OF THIS BOOK. I REPEAT, IT TOOK SO DAMN LONG TO GET TO THE ACTUAL PLOT OF THIS BOOK.
Bo made me gag. He was supposed to be seen as the ‘hot, sporty, and kind country boy that could make you swoon even when you’re six feet underground’. I didn’t see him like that. I cringed at everything he did. I cringed harder than ever.

This book was super average!
“I’M BEING BLACKMAILED!”
So I’m not doing this review in the way that I normally do. I normally write down what I liked and what I didn’t like, but I’m not really sure. I just know that it was a mediocre book. I was sorta bored, sorta into it, and sorta didn’t care.
I didn’t know what was going on, everything moved slowly, I was growing tired of the characters, and the ending wasn’t even that much of a plot twist.
All I can say is: if you’re looking for a quick read that you don’t have to pay attention to, then this is the book.

This book was too slow!
“WE’RE INVINCIBLE!”
ᴡʜᴀᴛ ɪ ʟɪᴋᴇᴅ:
The book was a solid read. It didn’t take me long to read (it only took me two days). Not because it was so enthralling, but because it was a quick, easy read.
The plot was really complex and I’m happy with the overall execution of this story. It wasn’t bad. It was done well and made decent sense.
The cover is also very pretty. It’s super shiny and super well done.
ᴡʜᴀᴛ ɪ ᴅɪᴅɴᴛ ʟɪᴋᴇ:
I wasn’t a fan of the characters. They were really one dimensional and boring as hell. I would constantly be drifting away from the story because of how mind-numbing these characters are.
I wasn’t satisfied with the ending. I’m not sure why, but I just ended up finishing the book, shrugged, and then moved on to the next adventure.

This book got better and better!
“11 THINGS TO DO BEFORE 12!”
ᴡʜᴀᴛ ɪ ʟɪᴋᴇᴅ:
I really liked the characters. All of them had their own personalities and they were very diverse. I could hardly find any similarities between any of them.
I liked the middle and the ending of the book. The beginning was definitely looking like either a 1 Star or a DNF, but the middle and end saved the story.
Jason. He is definitely my favorite character! Jason was super selfless and funny. He was very calm and wise as well.
ᴡʜᴀᴛ ɪ ᴅɪᴅɴᴛ ʟɪᴋᴇ:
Kaylan and Ariana’s friendship. Honestly, this relationship was NOT a BFF relationship. I can guarantee that. Friends don’t act like that around each other and if they do, they’re most likely fake friends or not very close ones.
THE INACCURACY! Last year was my first year of middle school. I was a fifth grader going into sixth. Why would you want to KISS A BOY?! You’re a child! A child! It’s horrible.
Ariana. Now, I didn’t hate her, there was just something off about her. I can’t put my finger on it. I just don’t like Ariana.

This book was super repetitive!
“I LOVE YOU!”
ᴡʜᴀᴛ ɪ ʟɪᴋᴇᴅ:
Ally and Teddy were really realistic characters. I feel like they both resembled true high school people who just happened to strike lucky.
The romance was cute and wasn’t rushed at all. I was super happy with how it was paced and how both sides had their limits.
I also really liked the rep in this book. One of our secondary characters was part of the LGBTQ+ (Gay) and I really think that he was represented well. Our author didn’t even make it seem like it was weird.
ᴡʜᴀᴛ ɪ ᴅɪᴅɴᴛ ʟɪᴋᴇ:
The repetition. This is my biggest thing that made me take off a whole star. I was going to give this a 4/5 but the repetition made me want to throw the book across the room. It was just a constant fight between Ally and Teddy. Then, they’d make up and soon fight again. It was a whole fight-then-make-up for 416 pages.

hello. welcome to my TED talk.
*sigh* let’s start.
first, as always, things i liked:
• the romance.
where do i start? Lara Jean and Peter’s relationship was amazing. one of the best parts of the books. top three. boom.
why did i like the relationship? first of all, it wasn’t rushed AT ALL. the two took their time to warm up to each other. they slowly learned the small details about each other and slowly got comfortable around each other. it wasn’t insta-love or anything. Peter found out things he didn’t know about Lara Jean and Lara Jean found out things about Peter that she didn’t know in the first place. there was a huge sign above the two that read, ‘WORK IN PROGRESS’. plus, Peter = baby.
• Peter.
literally (probably/most likely) the best character of the whole entire book. he was a really genuine person who has made mistakes and tried his best to fix them. another thing i liked was that he wasn’t the typical ‘popular football guy’. he wasn’t making out with girls left and right. and with Lara Jean he took his time.
• the family aspect.
this one kind of speaks for itself, but let’s talk. we’re shown what it’s like to be in a family of just a father and three girls. we’re shown how close they are. what i really liked was that this book wasn’t just a romance book, but it was also really family focused.
now, what i didn’t like:
• Lara Jean’s personality.
straight off the bat, from Lara Jean, you get this “im not like other girls” bs. honestly. she walked around wearing her ‘quirky clothes’ and she actually cared about her family? she’s NOT addicted to drugs, alcohol, or vape? wow, i wish i was like that! LIKE NO. i can’t stand the vibe she gives off.
• straight up the ending.
to expand on this, the ending only ended the way it did so this book could expand into a trilogy. sorry to say it, but this could’ve been one book. two books at the most. but three? oh God no.
• Margot.
do i even have to explain? Margot was this cardboard-cut-our character who, every time she showed up on page, made me wanna put down the book.
