This book was just okay for me. I loved hearing about the food industry and the magazine where Ruth Reichl worked. At points when I was listening to this book, it was hard to follow and it jumped all over the place. I didn't find myself compelled to keep listening and it took me a while to get into it.

This book was incredible and ripped my heart out! I started it on a Friday night at 7pm and finished it in the morning, it was that good and sucked me in. This is my first book by Colleen Oakley and it won’t be my last. I’m blessed to be able to meet her later this month at Literature Lovers night out and I cannot wait to ask her questions about this book.

Ever since Mia (love this name :)) was a young girl, she has been having dreams with the same unknown man. After her and her husband, Harrison move to a new town, Mia runs into the man in her dreams, Oliver. As Mia goes through some life changes, she begins to grow closer to Oliver and farther apart form Harrison as she tries to discover the meaning of these dreams.

This book hooked me and kept me wanting answers but I truly believe Oakley doesn’t answer all these questions for a reason. This book is so emotional and powerful and I would highly recommend it.

This book has so much drama and I loved it!! Set in the suburbs of Minneapolis (right where I live now!), Minor Dramas & Other Catastrophes focuses on Liston Heights High where there are so many helicopters parents. This book was told in many perspectives and had really short chapters (which I love too). This story examines quite a few social issues such as school politics, privileged students and most importantly, what social media does to people and how it fuels the fire. The dynamics of a helicopter mom, a passionate English Teacher wanting to make her privileged students think beyond themselves and school administration made for an interesting, realistic story. This book was a lot of fun and reminded me of Big Little Lies (there is no murder here though).
I read The Fountain of Silence as part of the #bookishladiesclub February buddy read ✨I’ve had this ARC on my shelf to read thanks to @penguinteen and I’m so glad I finally read it. It’s an incredible historical fiction (with a lot of non-fiction aspects to it). I loved the writing style and short chapters. There were parts of the book where I was a little confused but overall, I really liked this book and now want to read more by Ruta Sepatys!
Thank you NetGalley for the excerpt of this book in exchange for my honest reveiw!

I really enjoyed this book thus far. The Sunday Potluck Club is about a group of four women who meet in the cancer ward of a hospital. They are each caring for someone important in their life and through this group, they are able to be there for each other. What they kept saying to each other was, 'no one can judge how someone grieves' and I really loved this. As someone who strives to know how to care for people when they are going through something hard, I loved this excerpt and can't wait to read the whole book.
.
I can already tell I'm going to really enjoy growing with these four women and their stories as they heal and move forward in different ways.

After so many friends said they loved this book, I finally read it and really liked it. Some of the political talk bogged down the story for me but besides that I really really enjoyed this story!! I can’t wait to read more by Casey McQuisten and will definitely reread this book in the future!!

What a fun, fast paced book! I really enjoyed the characters, setting and all the little mysteries along the way. The author did a fabulous job at keeping me guessing on how this story would end.

I've had my eye on this book since Booksparks had it on their tour last fall and the cover is very intriguing to me. The writing goes back and forth between the story and a Detective interviewing the women after the 'event' happens. I love the writing style and I would definitely recommend this book. The ending still left me with questions but overall, I felt it was closed up for the most part and the author intended for use to want a bit more.

Today I finished The Dearly Beloved and it was a 5 ⭐️ read for me!! This month has had so many five star reads and I love it! This book is very character driven and reminded me a lot of The Most Fun We Ever Had. I am sure going to miss these characters and really loved the authors writing style!
I didn’t think I could love this one more than I loved The Bromance book club but I did! This book was a 5 ⭐️ read for me and I flew through it! This book has so many different layers to it and I love the authenticity and hard topics the author tackles. Livv is such a strong, independent and brave character and I loved her growth throughout the story! What’s even better is that this book builds off the previous one so well. The Bromance book club (the actual club) is so fun and I love hearing about it. Oh to be a fly on the wall during their meetings
What a great, fast paced, light hearted book! This book was just what I needed during this crazy time. I loved the Bromance book club and I really enjoyed being immersed in this setting and community. This book was a #bookstagrammademedoit and I’m so glad I read it. I felt the ending was a bit abrupt but other than that, I really really liked this book! I can’t wait to read more by @lyssakayadams
