Hearing Mr. Charles's story as he read it himself was enlightening. I learned so much about his life that I had never known.
I appreciated the note at the beginning. It specifically pointed out that the conversations were not necessarily accurate but were the best RuPaul could remember. As I got into the book I found there to be a noticeable gap in the level of intelligence presented during the narrative compared to any dialogue conversation quotes. While the former implied the author was well read and educated, whether by school or life, the latter reminded me of children's first stories they write in school. The dichotomy of the two stood out in a noticeable way as I listened. Ultimately, I feel it detracted from the story of life being shared. I endeavored to listen past that and did enjoy the story.
It was amazing to learn about how self belief, hard work, and smarts truly got RuPaul the fame he knew he would have one day. I would have liked to hear more about his relationship with his husband. Their story was begun but not finished within this book.

Adorable.
I got this for my 7 year old son and read it before giving it to him. There are jokes that will go over his head but I found amusing. I enjoyed reading this graphic novel immensely. It was just as good as the first. Plus a great continuation of the story. I am looking forward to my son reading it. I know he will love the Dino and Jeff the shark dog.
Excited about the third book!

This was a challenging book to read. Ms. Morrison commented in the forward, "break the narrative into parts that had to be reassembled by the reader... the execution of which does not satisfy me now." That stuck with me as I read. Perhaps, had I not read the forward I wouldn't have noticed, but I did and I found the story to be disjointed. However, I think this story is an important one to read. It involves themes that should be examined and talked about openly. As I read this for a bookclub, I am looking forward to the discussion about this book.

I have never read a story like this before. The lore and culture included was mesmerizing. The quest presented had me immediately engaged. I was quite happy to read page after page, curious to find out what happened, surprised by each twist. The presentation of the other world which was filled with impossibility made it easy to let go of the known, concrete of reality and simply enjoy being swept away by this tale. The ending was tumultuous but wrapped up every possible loose string. A wonderful book that is beautifully presented.

Great information! I feel that I understand so much more about how the media is used to influence my thoughts as a woman.
I am glad to have read this while my daughter and son are young. I hope to teach her to look critically at all things media so as to not be trapped in the same cycle as women before her. I hope to teach him to view women as a whole human beings that are more than how they look. I hope to teach them both to appreciate all women's bodies, not only the default 'iron maiden' they will see in media.
I would recommend this book to any woman that wants to learn and take control of her feelings when faced with media. I would also encourage men to read it so they can be aware of their part in this story, both presently and throughout history. I will admit that it was a dry read that took concentrated effort to get through. However, I feel the information gleaned was worth the work of this read.

I enjoyed listening to this book immensely. I think it would have been a fun read but listening to John Cleese read it was very entertaining. I loved listening to him crack up laughing while reading and recalling memories. It was very interesting learning about how Mr. Cleese grew up, his education, and beginning in comedy. Had this been about his whole life it would have been much longer. Rather it is truly his beginning running right up to the first Monty Python episode. The final chapter covers the Python Reunion and was a pleasant wrap up to this portion of John Cleese's life. I will likely pick up more of his bike in the future.

A quick easy read that kept me engaged and turning page after page. I enjoyed the low stakes of this novel which made it feel comforting to read. The fantasy of a new world was lovely as well. I have no complaints or negatives at all. The whole of it was wonderful and I am glad that I bought the second at the same time. I will jump into it soon as I am excited to find out which secondary Legends characters will be in the spotlight of their own story. Here is hoping I do not have to wait overly long for the third installment!

Very cute and appropriate for my 7 year old son. I enjoyed reading it. The switch of bodies was highly amusing. I was very happy to see that it included all four comics in one book. I know my son will love it.

I read this story for a bookclub which is a way of expanding my reading. I am glad to have read it but I personally found it difficult wrapping my brain around the differing timelines that were each happening individually and yet simultaneously. However, I must say that it was incredibly well written. Overall a good story and certainly an interesting concept to think about... just not the kind of story for me. Having finished it I am ambivalent about the book. Can't say I liked it and can't say I hated it. Just meh.
If you are a time loop lover this is a book for you. It reminded me greatly of Inception.

This was a delightful collection of bookish comics. Each page caused a smile. Several pages had me showing family members because one or the other of us related. Overall, this made me happy. I absolutely recommend for your own reading, bookshelf, and/or for gifting to booky friends and loved ones.
