The problem with becoming utterly smitten with a series at book one is that you then have to wait for each book that follows. Ugh. I hate the in-between because the moment I have finished each Tomes & Tea I have been ready for the next. Needing to know how the story continues, what Kianthe and Reyna will get up to next, who else will pair up, all the things. I have to know!
All of that said because I loved this installment just as much as the first two. The story progressed beautifully. The romance was sweet and the banter kept me laughing. The antics of the babies were too cute. The drama was just enough and well written.
Thorne, again, writes with absolute inclusivity. LGBTQIA+ individuals and pairings are accepted and acknowledged entirely throughout this epic. It gives me hope of what our world could be someday.
I look forward to the finale of this quartet due to be released in August of 2025!

I always enjoy these stories. My kids are listening to Jim Dale read them on audible. We are all happy to have finished this one as none of us like the pink witch. She is written horribly well. The details that are left out of the movies is wonderful to read. I especially enjoy discussing those extras with the kids. Onward we go to the Hald-Blood Prince.

I have not read a book set in this era before, as such I found it fascinating.
The tale seems to have been well researched and presented as accurately to the times as possible. Which was both wonderful and terrible. They were things about this story that I found to be barbaric, atrocious, and deeply disturbing. The things women have had to live through, in the name of beauty or at the behest of men, across history astoundes me. Those were the parts that were rough to read.
The trials, struggles, and tribulations make the happy moments all the sweeter. There was underlying intrigue that was subtle but if one pays attention they will catch it. Whether or not they figure it out... I am pleased to say that I was on the right track as events unfolded.
Overall, I enjoyed the book and can see myself picking it up again one day.

Little strong. A short DD/lb story filled with deadly struggles. This has been the saddest of the series but the happy moments are all the more adorable because of it. I enjoyed this tale and look forward to the next installment.

A love story indeed. I enjoyed learning about Eartha Kitt through the eyes of her one and only, her daughter Kitt Shapiro. There were moments I laughed, cried, read excerpts out loud to my person because I related hard. A wonderful book about two women's inexorably entwined lives. So many life lessons to take away if you choose. The only thing that brought this down for me was a feeling of redundancy as I read. I got the feeling that each chapter was written individually which lead to many things being repeated in several places throughout the book. Overall, well worth reading and quite enjoyable.

My son, 7 years old, thought this book was really fun. He loved going back through to find the mouse, cat and yarn. He says that finding the cat was always easy but he needed my help to find the yarn because it was hidden really well. Looking together is what he enjoyed most. The story was cute and cuddly. The pictures were great. Wonderful book to read and search through with young kids.

This is a wonderfully written novel with deeply important and painful to read subject matter. I cried many times as I read the atrocities that are included in this book. While difficult to read it is extremely important to know and understand the horrors that slaves were subjected to each moment of their lives. We can not stop teaching our history, we can not ignore our past, we can not gloss it over. I will have both my daughter and son read this book when they are appropriate ages. We will have deep discussion about the injustices and evil that is still all too common. I applaud Ms. Johnson for doing the research to be able to write as accurately as possible about history from the point of view of slaves. We need more stories from the other side of history. Well done. Highly recommend for all.

I found the information presented to be very interesting. However, it was so densely written that I found it difficult to read. I felt that I had to grind through and was just not in the mood to do so right now. I do believe that I will finish this book at some point.

I've lost track of how many times I've read this book. I still enjoy the relationship between God and Day. They struggle through their beginnings but quickly find their footing. Ro and Johnson are an interesting inclusion in the story. Definitely as smutty and testosterone filled as I remember.

Fabulous extension of 1998 Disney Mulan movie I grew up with. I enjoyed the Chinese mythology that is included. So much happened in such a short span of time during this book. There were peaceful moments and extreme challenges. I loved how the story of Mulan learning about/finding her true self is fleshed out in this tale. I highly recommend this one to anyone that enjoys Disney or continued lore.
