This is one of the best contemporaries I have read in a while! I was so invested in the story and the characters. Cate was a character I grew to hate, I enjoyed her character until she got very bossy. Overall, I loved getting to know the story behind Molly.

(TW for suicide & death) I devoured this novel. This was an excellent portrayal of mental illness (anxiety and depression). Eliza is the creator of a popular web-comic, Monsterous Sea and essentially is "internet famous". Eliza lives two lives, her in-real-life as Eliza Mirk and her internet-life as LadyConstellation where she talks on fourms and chats with other fans of the web-comic.

One day at school, she is introduced to a new student Wallace, who she later befriends. I really enjoyed their relationship, they talked through note paper. Wallace balances Eliza and helps her out of her Internet bubble and into real world settings.

I loved how realistic the characters were especially Eliza's parents. Her parents don't understand her Internet life opposed to in-real-life, something that many introverted teenagers can relate to. Young adult novels often lack parents and I was very glad that Eliza included parents that had a major role in their teens life.

This novel was an excellent portrayal of anxiety and depression. I have dealt with depression and I live with general anxiety & social anxiety. I felt that I could relate to Eliza a lot during the times of her anxiety was at it's highest. The talk of depression goes in depth and I liked how it didn't just relate to the MC but to others around her, too.

Eliza and Her Monsters is a must read for fans of mental illness novels, fandom & Internet culture. It's a page turner and will have you reading until late into the night!

It’s rare that I read fantasy novels. This was hands down the most engaging and #girlpower book that I could ever ask for!! The world was very easy to understand and I loved the way Mare and Denna fell for each other. This book truly shows girls supporting girls and it was so amazing!! Highly recommend 👍👍

Nothing bad to say about this, I enjoyed the story and I felt very attached to the characters. This felt like a very realistic LGBTQIA novel including severe high school bullying for being gay. This became one of the focuses in this story.

If you're a hockey fan like me, you'll enjoy this book because of its hockey references & Vermont setting.

Many male characters are in this book and I loved getting to know all of them. As well as the mystery behind the stolen letters.

I couldn't put this book down, if you're looking for a good LGBTQIA book that feels realistic with humor you'll enjoy Kenneth Logan's novel!

This book gave me [b:13 Little Blue Envelopes|17020|13 Little Blue Envelopes (Little Blue Envelope, #1)|Maureen Johnson|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1375030179i/17020._SY75_.jpg|1008846] vibes! I enjoyed Lina learning about her mother's story and the characters were very fun! I've never read a book set in Italy, but now I want to go and try Gelato! I'm half-Italian, so I feel like it would only be right.

This was a great contemporary! The only issue I had is that this was set during a week? I felt like a lot happened to Lina in a week and I'm not totally sure if someone can fall in love and make major decisions in just one week. Ren was one of my favorite characters. I loved him from the start. Their romance wasn't insta-love which I enjoyed because I prefer a slow burn romance but learning that she fell in love just in 5 days rubbed me the wrong way.

Otherwise, I enjoyed this more than I thought I would! Also, I listened to this on audio and I would recommend the audiobook as it has a full cast.

I really enjoyed the setting of this book. It was a perfect summer read! However, I felt like a lot was going on at once and I wish the author would've just stuck to a couple problems rather than too many all at once. The romance was really unexpected and the "love triangle" if you can call it that? felt really unnecessary. Also, I feel like there wasn't much character development. Overall, the story just felt rushed. Jules was such a frustrating character and I hated seeing Cricket go through heartbreak because Jules was being selfish and just plain rude AND the other characters were just taking it from her and letting her do it because it's how she was coping. That was SO UNHEALTHY.

I think this was a really good contemporary and I want to continue onto the sequel. If you've read [b:The Summer I Turned Pretty|5821978|The Summer I Turned Pretty (Summer, #1)|Jenny Han|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1361666855i/5821978._SY75_.jpg|5994018], you'll like this! Even if you liked or disliked that book I suggest giving this one a try.

Rating: 2.5

This book was sent to me by Macmillan in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
Trigger warnings: pedophila, death, depression and suicide
CW: Gore (lots of blood which is graphic)

Fantasy is not the genre I normally gravitate toward, so this I don't feel like I'm confident in reviewing this title properly. The first chapter of this book intrigued me, so I thought I was going to enjoy the story a lot! However, my expectations were not met. My thoughts are that this book could've been executed differently. This is a multimedia book, so it included interviews and graphics that were crucial to the story. However, since I have an ARC of this and not the final copy, it hindered my reading experience and added to my confusion. The organization could've been better because I was confused from the I was thoroughly confused and very creeped out by the story because it involves a human + android romance? Which was super, super weird to me. I was on the verge of DNFing this, but I wanted to know how the murder mystery wrapped up. The ending was very surprising and unexpected. But, I would've liked to see the character, Mr. Casey be a villain because he was being written like one. I think this story had the potential to be successful because the world was really intricate, but it really felt short for me.

TW: Outting, transphobia, homophobia, bullying

This book was highly offensive to trans people. As a trans person, I was so uncomfortable reading the main character use derogatory slurs and not learning from her mistakes. As well as the side characters and no one learned from their mistakes? They were forgiven for outting her to the whole school and I'm sure that it wouldn't have been so dramatic. Also, the main character met a lesbian character, who is also intersex and told her that she was scared that she would turn gay from being intersex and told the lesbian character that girls would be more understanding, so it would be easier to just be gay and she didn't learn from that either!!!!!!!!

I just couldn't believe some of the things I had to read in this book and that the author thought it was okay to use them?? Also, after reading her authors note I was appalled to read that she was inspired to write this because of an intersex patient she had who's story HAUNTED HER? And she was still curious how she was living her life and having sex which shouldn't be any of her damn business.

Ugh, this book should've been executed so much better. I saw what the author was going for, but she shouldn't have wasted her time.

I wish I could say the only thing I liked was that it had hockey incorporated yet, one of the characters insulted the Rangers goalie, one of the best goalies in the NHL.

TW/CW: Sexual assault, near death experience, cheating

I've found a new favorite book of all time.

Emory and Hannah were best friends forever, until eight months ago. One night, one fight changed everything. They haven't spoken since.

Emory is an actress who spends most of her time in her high school auditorium rehearsing for their spring musical and preparing for her audition at UCLA. Meanwhile, she is dealing with the aftermath of the tragic incident that changed her boyfriend, Luke's life forever.

Hannah is the preacher's daughter, her faith has consumed her life forever and she's now realizing that she always listened and agreed to what her father said because his opinion was always right in her mind. She learns to restore her faith and explore what Christianity means to her. But, when she sees Luke passed out in his car in front of her house, she starts to rethink her faith and if everything does happen for a reason and God's plan.

This was a roller coaster to say the least. I was full on sobbing in the beginning and my emotions were up and down. I was so invested in this story and devoured it!! This was a great story about near death experiences, after-life, faith, and makes you think if everything does happen for a reason. I have nothing bad to say about this book. It was excellent. I did have a problem with the cheating going on, but it isn't brushed off and the author did a great job making sure both characters addressed what they were doing and learned from it.

#ownvoices for Jewish and bisexual rep

rep: jewish characters, bisexual MC, lesbian love interest
side characters include: an enby character, trans girl and a fat, trans woman

Such a cute, queer f/f love story between two Jewish girls about art, and indie yarn dying, plus references from musicals. ALSO A TUXEDO CAT NAMED "THE PHANTOM" FROM PHANTOM OF THE OPERA. This story was so sweet and I really enjoyed the writing too! I would totally read a full novel of Danielle and Clara! and I low key want to join sock club...
