This was a great read and it was quick! I flew through This One Summer in about an hour or two. We follow two friends, Rose and Windy who meet up every summer their family comes to their vacation spot. They spend the summer watching horror movies they rent from the local DVD store. They become known at the store and they eavesdrop on the teenager's drama. Especially how infatuated they were with the drama going on and trying to crack the case. Rose and Windy were adorable and I loved their friendship! As well as their reactions to the horror movies, Jaws wasn't their favorite, haha.

Another aspect of this story was the family dynamic surrounding both Rose and Windy. Windy never sees her father and Rose is stuck in her mother's depression due to her miscarriage. We really see how a miscarriage affects everyone in the family and it's heartbreaking. I liked the tie between the miscarriage and
pregnancy of the teenage girl, I definitely had suspicions that she would let Rose's mother adopt the baby.

The ending was ambiguous and I liked that! It let me have my own ending. I absolutely loved this and the illustrations were stunning! The whole book has the purple color and I could vividly see what each scene was and the girls! I liked how different Rose and Windy were. Overall, great graphic novel.

Many, many, many tears later...I am very satisfied with the ending to my favorite trilogy of all time. Here come some more tears. I've read Lara Jean's story a total of five times and I loved being on adventures with her and Peter K as they created their love story. As a conclusion to this series that means so much to me, I am so thankful that Jenny decided to add this final book.
Lara Jean is in her senior year of high school and making it last with her boyfriend, Peter Kavinsky. We see Lara Jean's final year at home before she goes to college. She's deciding on her destination and trying to make ends meet for her and Peter in the long run. Besides her own love life, she's busy setting up her father's wedding with Ms. Rothchild. She also takes a trip to New York, forces Peter to watch her favorite movies, who knew Peter would like rom-coms?! And she is trying to perfect the best, most perfect chocolate-chip cookie! Books hardly ever make me cry, but this one is very special to my heart because it made me SOB, it always will be my favorite.

I think this was the perfect conclusion and all I really needed to end my favorite story with my favorite characters. I see so much of myself in LJ that I felt like I was going through her and Peter's relationship myself. Lara Jean, Margot, Kitty, Jamie Fox-Pickle and Peter K will always hold a special place in my heart. Thank you to Jenny for writing Lara Jean and her story. I'm forever thankful.

NOW...WHERE'S MARGOT'S OWN BOOK??

Trigger warning for sexual assault.

We meet Emma, a popular girl with a big friend group, they are invited to a party and a male friend's house and the story escalates from there. We see Emma's struggles through her case with the four males who are accused of raping her when pictures are posted on Facebook.

At times, this story was so heartbreaking to read. We get to see the Facebook posts, the news stories being written about her story. As well as how the case is still going on a year after it happened. Emma's life isn't the same, but she feels guilty. I really felt for Emma in this story because no one would believe her and they were calling her harsh names. She couldn't even go out in public, she was too afraid. Even turning on the television was too much because her story was everywhere she went.

Family is very prominent in this story and emotional. Emma's whole family (mom, dad and brother) are affected by this and we get to see their relationships as a family go left and right. Emma's father won't even look her in the eye. It's a hostile environment for everyone in the home.

This story is set in Ireland, which is a setting I have not read before. We go into the Irish culture and see how Emma goes to a catholic school and is religious. As well as the language was different from American culture.

I really just wanted more to this story. It fell short for me by not much growth of the story, I think.
I do like this book because of the topics involved. But, it was slow in the beginning and I wasn't feeling the writing style all that much.

Honestly, I'm just glad it exists but I wanted more to the story and to Emma's character. It's just an important read about rape culture in Ireland, but not a favorite book of mine!

I don't think I have ever laughed so much while reading a book than I did when I was reading this. I absolutely loved this book. It flowed very nicely and it kept me engaged throughout. I was never bored.

This story follows Henry Page and his first love, Grace - a new student at his school. Grace is very mysterious and Henry makes it his priority to get to know her. They go off on adventures and piece by piece Henry finds out what Grace is hiding.

Our Chemical Hearts has one of my new favorite friend groups. Muz "Murray" and La made me laugh so hard and I just wanted to give them a group hug. The fact that their parents were so relaxed and Muz and Henry could swap beds at their houses for the night...#goals. I really appreciate great friend groups!

I just don't even have the right words for this review. This book was so amazing and I just really loved it. My book is filled up with page flags because I loved everything!

As a debut novel, this was incredible! It wasn't hard to read and I was never confused. I will mention that Grace is a hard character to like because in a sense she's considered a Manic Pixie Dream Girl. Henry is also a character you might not like, because he is so hung up on her that he neglects his school work. However, I didn't have an issue because it builds the story.

So, if you want a good laugh OR a good cry - pick this up.

** this book reminded me a little bit of TFIOS despite any illness involved. but, I think this is better than TFIOS. Plus, some The Beginning of Everything vibes! **

I was sent this from the publisher, Knopf in exchange for an honest review. This does not change my opinions of the book in any way.

My overall rating is a 4.5 out of 5 stars.

FULL REVIEW COMING....

This book is one of my most anticipated releases of 2017 and I loved Lindstrom's debut novel, [b:Not If I See You First|22701879|Not If I See You First|Eric Lindstrom|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1449490841s/22701879.jpg|42221953]. In A Tragic Kind of Wonderful,we meet Mel who is dealing with bipolar disorder and hiding it from her friends to be "normal". She's also hiding another big secret, that she has a brother, Nolan.

I really loved the parent/aunt relationships that Mel has with her mother and Aunt Joan (HJ). I barely see parents in Young Adult books and I love when I see parental relationships amongst the main character. Hurricane Joan really stood out to me and I am so glad she was apart of this story.

My most favorite thing about Lindstrom and his stories are that they are female characters. As he is a male author, he always nails his female characters to the fullest. I always appreciate the realistic side to Contemporary stories, for instance in A Tragic Kind of Wonderful, Mel gets her period. This had me cheering!! Especially that this novel is written by a MALE AUTHOR. It's such a real thing and I applaud Lindstrom for this. (Thank you!!!) Mel felt so real and raw in this story, and I really loved her.

Going off of this book being realistic, Mel works or volunteers at the old folks home and forms relationships with the residents such as a new resident, Ms. Li and Mr. Terrance Knight. I loved seeing how Mel felt so comfortable when she was surrounded by these people. Also, leading to a new friend, David.

I really like how Lindstrom NEVER focuses primarily on the romance in his stories. This book also did that, we do see her interest progress with David but it isn't the main focus of the story. The main focus is Mel and her bipolar disorder. Their relationship felt real, especially the fact that Mel didn't want to get close to him.

Mel experiences lots of high school drama with her past friends - Zumi, Connor and Annie - and we see her new friends (who are the bomb I love them) Holly and Declan. This is such a diverse friend group and I loved them. I really liked seeing the way things went between Mel and her past friends, Zumi and Connor. Also, the exploring of sexuality between to females. It was AWESOME.

As for bipolar disorder representation, I cannot comment on the accurate representation because I haven't had any experiences with bipolar disorder. However, I really did like seeing Mel's "animals" at the beginnings of every chapter, as well as her visits with Dr. Oswald and Dr. Jordan. I do wish we had more scenes of her visits with Dr. Oswald because I feel it was very important.

Overall, I really did enjoy this book and it did meet my expectations. However, I did feel it was slow at parts and to be completely honest I was getting a little bored toward the end and some of my questions went unanswered. Nonetheless, I thoroughly enjoyed this book, a lot! I would recommend :)

This was a light hearted story about friendship following two LGBT teens who meet and are just coming of age. Mark is dealing with his best friend, Ryan getting into a relationship with a boy who isn't him. Kate is afraid to meet Violet, her friend Lehna's cousin. This is all happening throughout pride week. To be honest, I felt like this was going to be similar to Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist when it started up since they are downtown trying to find Violet. It was super slow for me, and I had to pick up the audio or I wouldn't have finished (I had to finish this book for the YA Booktube Awards since I am judging this genre, if not I would've DNFed it). I've actually listened to David Levithan's previous co-written books on Audio (Naomi & Ely and Nick and Norah). Overall, it was cute and had great LGBTQIA+ representation, this is also an own voices book. But, I wished I enjoyed it more than I hoped to.

This is hands down my favorite of Kasie's books. I loved the love interest
Hayden!!
and Gia. They're my new OTP. I couldn't put this down and I just loved it so much, I don't even have words. It gave me ALL OF THE FEELS and I squealed so much! Ahh, so cute and I loved the fact that Gia was learning a lot from her senior year and finding who her real friends were. I feel that is realistically how senior year of high school really goes; it did for me anyway!

Morgan Matson is known as an author who writes her stories set during the summertime. This is a fun summer read with great friendship dynamic and character development really shows in this story.

Andie Walker has her whole summer planned out by going to a program at Johns Hopkins. But, when her father Congressman Alexander Walker gets tied up in a scandal...Andie's whole summer is drastically changed. She has to find a last minute job which ends up being walking dogs (not her ideal situation).

Andie's summer ends up going in the direction she wasn't expecting but it's one of the most memorable summer's for her. I'm not a dog fan but I definitely grew to love Bertie in this story and loved seeing Andie's new love for dogs grow.

The friendship dynamic in this book is amazing! This group of friends is my new favorite group and I wished I had them as friends while in high school. They all have their own stories as characters and we get to know them like we have been hanging out with them the whole summer. The friendship doesn't feel fake because the girls go through a time where they are not speaking to each other. This made it feel like a real friend group because this tends to happen and I really enjoyed that.

You're going to swoon over the love interest in this book, Clark! I'm not going to give anything about him away but you will be falling for him like Andie does! He's a total fantasy/sci-fi nerd with a love for fictional worlds such as Doctor Who.

This story felt very predictable and I almost guessed everything there was to guess. Totally swoon worthy romance and I enjoyed the friendship group & character development very much.
