Our Chemical Hearts by Krystal Sutherland
5.0

I don't think I have ever laughed so much while reading a book than I did when I was reading this. I absolutely loved this book. It flowed very nicely and it kept me engaged throughout. I was never bored.

This story follows Henry Page and his first love, Grace - a new student at his school. Grace is very mysterious and Henry makes it his priority to get to know her. They go off on adventures and piece by piece Henry finds out what Grace is hiding.

Our Chemical Hearts has one of my new favorite friend groups. Muz "Murray" and La made me laugh so hard and I just wanted to give them a group hug. The fact that their parents were so relaxed and Muz and Henry could swap beds at their houses for the night...#goals. I really appreciate great friend groups!

I just don't even have the right words for this review. This book was so amazing and I just really loved it. My book is filled up with page flags because I loved everything!

As a debut novel, this was incredible! It wasn't hard to read and I was never confused. I will mention that Grace is a hard character to like because in a sense she's considered a Manic Pixie Dream Girl. Henry is also a character you might not like, because he is so hung up on her that he neglects his school work. However, I didn't have an issue because it builds the story.

So, if you want a good laugh OR a good cry - pick this up.

** this book reminded me a little bit of TFIOS despite any illness involved. but, I think this is better than TFIOS. Plus, some The Beginning of Everything vibes! **
