I had a lot of fun reading these excellent stories. My favorite and the one I was most excited to read is "Like Peonies" by Caitlin Marceau. :)

I don't believe this book deserves all the 1 and 2 star ratings. It's not perfect though so 3.5 is a more suitable rating in my opinion. Despite the horrendous things many of the characters say and do, there are still some positive messages in this book, such as how all human life is valuable. I'm not sure I recommend this though because it's 500 pages and there's a lot of names to remember.

Andrew has been diagnosed with AIDS, and leaves New York to return to his religious and homophobic parents' home. At night he hears footsteps in the walls, which he assumes are rats. Also, his mother's cats keep disappearing and his father has been walking outside during the night in his garden. Andrew begins to suspect he is having an affair.

This novella is definitely worth checking out. It is queer, creepy and unsettling. The real horror in my opinion though is not whatever is lurking in the walls, but the homophobic bigotry, rich and violent gay men, and Andrew's best friend Christine. All the people whom Andrew should be able to trust turn on him due to him being sick and/or gay. I would highly recommend this to readers who enjoy queer horror.

CW: biphobia, pregnancy, attempted assault

This is such a gorgeous novella. Emerald is an interesting character and I really enjoyed spending time with her. She puts up with her cruel family, specifically her mother and sister, who are angry at her for choosing to dance at a club rather than work at a chicken factory.

Her solace is her love interest Zara, who is a mysterious, pretty and fascinating character in her own way. I highly recommend this to readers who are into gothic and sapphic books. :)

This is a short but sweet sapphic Greek mythology retelling about Limos and Demeter. She is the goddess of starvation, while Demeter is the goddess of growth.

According to the Fates the two goddesses are to never meet because they would destroy each other. But then one day Demeter shows up at Limos's home after her daughter Kore is kidnapped by Hades. Limos can't get Kore back, but she lets Demeter stay with her.

Reading the interaction between Limos and Demeter was a lot of fun. The sapphic element was nicely included. It was also extremely satisfying when Limos inflicts a gruesome punishment on a cruel and greedy king.

This is such a fun queer book. It is about Sam, who recently broke up with his boyfriend Danny. He moves to a house in hopes of a new start, but is unaware that something is seriously wrong with his new home. When Danny is brutally murdered, he realizes he craves the taste of blood. However, this isn't the typical vampire/haunted house story, but explaining how would be a spoiler. There is a huge focus on family and friendships in this novel. Also, I really enjoyed the references to other books, such as Dracula and Frankenstein.

This is a very cute, sweet, and wholesome sapphic romance novella between a witch and a half demon. Amaya likes her solitude and feels uncomfortable around people. When Rue arrives at her home to escape an unwanted marriage with a cousin, she claims that Amaya is who she's meant to be with. Amaya is sceptical but lets Rue stay with her. I had a lot of fun reading the interactions between Rue and Amaya. Amaya is not very chatty, but Rue is, so they balance each other out. This novella is compared to Pride and Prejudice and Charmed. Anyone who is a fan of one or both of those should check this out.
