This is a nuanced look at schizophrenia and mental illness in general, particularly the essays in which Esmé Weijun Wang writes about wanting to appear normal and respectable. My only problem with this book is the essay about having children. She describes her experience of working with mentally ill children, some of whom were also diagnosed with autism. She uses the word "tantrum" when an autistic child was more likely having a meltdown. I hope by now the author knows that an autistic meltdown is not the same as a tantrum. Overall I did very much like reading these essays and would recommend this collection to anyone who wants to learn about schizophrenia.

Despite the captivating writing, I didn't like this at first. Being in Karolina's head made me feel a combination of frustrated, annoyed, and bored. She makes some regrettable decisions, but the ending of this book makes it worth reading.

This is a sweet friends to lovers book. It has pretty sapphic wolves and baked treats. I'm definitely gonna read the next book of this series.

These are nice fantasy stories. In every single one of these stories people are kind to one another and help eachother without any ulterior motives. Whenever there is conflict, it is resolved either through talking or playing a game. I will absolutely read more of this series.

I had fun reading this cozy fantasy horror romance. Shesheshen is the cutest and sweetest monster, and it's really cool that the book is entirely in her perspective. There's some modern terminology despite the medieval setting, such as 'enby' and 'allosexual' which is not a big deal to me. Also very much appreciate that Shesheshen and Homily (her human romantic interest) are both asexual. :)

Reading this was so stressful. Poor Maggie and Kitty :(

Maggie is a true-crime podcaster. Her recent episodes have not received much attention, so when she discovers a case about a house in which a child was murdered, she is confident that talking about the case will make her go viral. Unfortunately the case triggers a manic episode, and she makes the impulsive decision to buy the house.

Ruth Anna Evans is skilled at hooking the reader in, and I'd highly recommend this to anyone who wants a short, creepy and fast-paced novella.
