WHAA dit was weer briljant! De elementen die ik me herinnerde hierin vond ik weer net zo tof, de pop-song en het realistische gedrag van de bad guys. Ook de romance vond ik in deze erg tof om te lezen, en het vrouwelijk hoofdpersonage is kick-ass. De speciale vorm van presentatie maakt het een heel bijzonder verhaal. Ik ben heel blij dat ik lekker kan bingen en door kan met deel 3!

I'm SO glad I finally picked this book up. I'd put it on my 17 TBR for 2017, and I'm glad I did. If I didn't, I have no idea when i would've picked it up and that would have been really a shame because this book is magnificent.

Before I started this book, I was doubting my love for YA, because I'd read some predictable books. But this book made me fall in love all over again with YA. This is a perfect contemporary, and I love it to pieces.
I understand why people want to underline things in books, but I'm glad I did not started it, because at one point I would have had three completely marked pages.

I recommend this if you like a diversity, out of your comfort zone book. The main character is blind, it this books really shows you (pun not intended) how different the world is if you are not able to see.
And she is badass, I really like her. While she is blind, she stumbles upon things other teenagers can also experience, in school or with friends. but because she is blind, everything is more intense somehow, the emotions and the meaning of stuff. This is logical in the story, it is not over the top or anything.
But I really felt and lived with her because I recognized some things, and she really handles them in a realistic but very good manner. This was a bit disappointing. A lot, to be honest. But, I could have seen that coming.
I loved [b:The Program|11366397|The Program (The Program, #1)|Suzanne Young|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1344986164s/11366397.jpg|16297209]. I hated [b:The Treatment|17948607|The Treatment (The Program, #2)|Suzanne Young|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1384903497s/17948607.jpg|25163586], that felt like a unnecessary sequel. I LOVED [b:The Remedy|22449285|The Remedy (The Program, #0.5)|Suzanne Young|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1416506230s/22449285.jpg|41878337], it was genius. This book is the sequel to The Remedy.. and yeah, that was not necessary.
It is just.. nothing happened! In the whole book! Maybe some things do happen but it did not felt like much. It was a boring read. Nothing like the Remedy, a lot like The treatment. And i did not liked the ending.
I do will read other installments of this series because I really like the world Suzanne Young has created. And 1* felt just a bit to harsh somehow because it does has some nice twisted things in this book, but not as much as the Remedy.

Just like in Simon, in this book it is about a diversity character, in this case a trans, but without the book being written in a learny way. You get to know David and you learn what it's like to be trapped in the wrong body because he is.
And I also like Leo a lot! And I like how, at least in the Dutch version, the different point of views are indicated with different fonts. I really like how this worked out!

Man o man o man.
Ik heb twee keer eerder een boek van Dani Atkins gelezen, [b:Fractured|17380601|Fractured|Dani Atkins|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1375288993s/17380601.jpg|24173764] en [b:Perfect Strangers|30839690|Perfect Strangers|Dani Atkins|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1467616339s/30839690.jpg|51438857]. Elke keer dacht ik tijdens het lezen van het boek 'Nou. Niet heel geweldig goed qua plot of hoe het geschreven is ofzo.' En iedere keer heb ik zitten JANKEN om het einde, niet te geloven hoe intens mijn gevoelens voor deze boeken zijn.
En toen begon dit boek met twee vrouwen die allebei horen dat hun man in kritieke toestand in het ziekenhuis ligt. Oh, dat grijpt wel aan, ook hoe het geschreven is. Het voelt alleen heel rommelig, zo door elkaar heen.
Dan komt de body van het boek, de verhaallijn, waarin je met heel veel uitgebreide flashbacks leert over hoe de verhaallijnen van de verschillende personages bij elkaar komen. Dit is een deel van het verhaal waar ik voor mijn gevoel echt doorheen moest.
Als dit het eerste boek was dat ik van haar zou lezen, zou ik het hebben weggelegd. De enige personage's die ik mocht waren een 8 jarig kind en een man in coma. Hmm.
Maar toen kwam het einde en OH MIJN GOD wat is Dani Atkins goed in hartverscheurende situaties zo omschrijven dat het voelt alsof het jezelf overkomt. Ik heb zó hard zitten huilen.
WAARSCHUWING: Als je een vriend/man/etc hebt: het is aan te raden om het einde van het boek (je voelt het wel aankomen) NIET te lezen als hij niet in de buurt is om te knuffelen.
Maar toch geen 5*. Mijn boek was 500 blz. De eerste 50 en de laatste 100 waren mooi, maar ik had de epiloog-plottwist al aan zien komen. 5* voelt als te veel, daarvoor zie ik teveel verbeteropties.
Maar ik ben erg benieuwd naar haar andere boeken die ongelezen in mijn kast staan. Gelukkig is dit de dikste, bij de anderen zal ik sneller bij zo een prachtig eind zijn, dus :)

A book with science in it has only two possible ratings for me, 1 of 5*, depending on the correctness of the science in it. As you can guess, this science makes sense :P Oh and the science in this is a part of physics that really fascinates me, so extra love for that of course :)

Lekker random, maar boordevol leuke en interessante boekenfeitjes.
Allerlei leuke projecten komen aan bod, en het laat heel goed zien dat je veel van iemand (of een groep mensen) weet als je weet wat er gelezen is.

Laatste tijd veel boeken over dit onderwerp uit de bibliotheek in huis gehad. Heel veel na enkele bladzijdes dichtgeslagen omdat ze te zweverig of te zwaar waren naar mijn mening.
Dit boek is precies goed. Allerlei onderwerpen komen naar voren, gecombineerd met tips. Ook is het gebruik van tussenkopjes erg goed. Dat in combinatie met dat Jolijn goed aangeeft waar ze het over gaat hebben, maakt dat je in dit boek ook goed stukken of stukjes over kunt slaan die je minder aanspreken, zonder dat je echt iets mist.
Heb het boek grotendeels gescand en een groot aantal passages gelezen, degene die me aanspraken. Het is een goed en fijn boek waar je veel aan kunt hebben.
Zelf zit ik nog erg met overprikkeld raken en daarmee omgaan. Op dat issue krijg ik in deze boeken niet echt antwoord merk ik, dus ik ga het eens zoeken in boeken over rust in je hoofd, en dergelijke. Maar sta dus zeer open voor boekaanbevelingen op dat gebied!

Waarom dit boek geen 5* heeft gekregen zoals de andere delen wel? Het gaat hier dan wel over de meiden, maar ik steek niet iets nieuws op over feminisme. En dat vind ik jammer, want die combinatie van lezen over de vriendinnen en iets opsteken is nou precies wat ik zo geweldig vind aan deze serie. Maar Holly Bourne schrijft geweldig goed en leuk over vriendschap dus de 4 sterren zijn ook wel echt verdient op dat gebied!
Toptip trouwens: alle ebooks van deze serie zijn spotgoedkoop. Op westerhofboeken.nl zijn de gewone delen zelfs maar €3,32! Op bol.com is het ook niet veel hoor, €4,02. Maar in ieder geval is mijn boodschap dus: weinig geld, probeer dit!
