This book is set mid-lockdown, and I can't handle a book that heady right now. 

Probably good for a classroom, but not on its own a good read. Just boring, really. 

Solidly lovely book, I like the world building that exists and wish it were a bit more fleshed out. I love the concept of the immortal beings needing mortals to lend them the concept of time. A bit longer than it needs to be, though.  

Cute, silly fluff. Fun!

A simple explanation of racism, what it is and how it comes about, in bright bold text that doubles as the illustrations. Very well done, would hand to literally anyone. 

Not quite as brilliant as the book on Racism in the same series, but seriously so good nonetheless. 

Very sweet with some bits of profound mixed in. Nonfiction in that it is not a story, this is a matter of fact telling of how gnomes live in tune with the seasons. 

Text is too small and sentences too long for me to feel willing to wade through the complex family dynamics. 

Sweet story about friendship and growing up together. 

Despite being unclear on what exactly was going on, the narrative pulled me along. And when I finally figured it out, at about halfway through the book, I was HOOKED. I don't think most children would have the patience to read a full book and a half before understanding the world building, and tha'ts why I gave it only 4 stars and not 5. But I thoroughly enjoyed it and the cliffhanger yet satisfying ending is phenomenal. Will read #3.
