I love this omegaverse series. This was a super quick read with lots of steam and my fave, brother’s best friend. Not too heavy, but with a little action to get your heart rate up a bit… I really enjoyed it and can’t wait to read the next one!
I'm continuing on in my first read through of the world of Solaria in publication order, as recommended by the authors for the best experience (easter eggs, crossovers, etc.). I'm now through the first 3 Ruthless Boys and the first 4 Zodiac Academy books, and it was time to get to know Rosalie Oscura and Darkmore Penitentiary better.
The hardest part about getting started in this book was that I had just finished Vicious Fae when I started it, and I LOVE Elise and her guys so much that I was just missing them when I was trying to learn all these new(ish) faces and setting. It took me a little while to switch mindset, but once I did, I couldn't put it down.
Rosa is a badass who will do whatever she has to to accomplish what she sets out to do. And that's To be honest, before I started reading I had no idea what to expect, because I've tried to avoid spoilers - so I didn't even know the main concept of the story (which is why I spoiler tagged it above, in case you too would like to go in knowing nothing). So it was really fun to read it with absolutely no idea what was going to happen (I mean, some it was obvious as I read, but in that "oooh, I didn't know this was going to happen" kind of way, not the boring way).
This is definitely a slower burn RH, but by the end of the book there is clearly a harem being formed. But it's not going to be easy for Rosa - though in a prison, I don't think anything ever is.
I'm loving all the characters and their very different (but similar) personalities. They are all very alphahole, keeping up their reputations I'm sure. But there is devotion brewing in most of the guys, and it's starting to trickle out when they think no one is watching.

Huh... I really thought I'd like this book a lot more than I did. At the beginning I was really into it, it was going well... seemed like it was going to be a nice dark PNR. And then... I don't even know what happened.
As other reviews mention, there is a scene around 25%ish which really had an effect on the romance and how involved I ended up being in the couple.
Then the rest of the book I was almost disinterested. I have no problems DNF a book, but at 75% when I considered it because I realized I just didn't care about the characters enough, I decided that I didn't DISlike it and that maybe the ending would make up for it. So I persisted... and I'm honestly not sure if I care that I did. It ended in a way that could make this a standalone for sure, but there is a second book in this duet. I doubt I'll ever read it - the standalone ending is good enough for me.

Whew! If you're looking for a steamy brother's best friend romance to melt your kindle, look no further! I really enjoyed this sex-lessons-turns-fake-dating NA college romance. Cooper is so sweet, while hiding his feelings and trying to win over the girl... but it's the "lack of communication trope" that kept this from being a 5 star read. I hate when it's just that neither party will say the actual words they want to say... the rest of the book makes up for it though, with super steamy encounters and just the overall sweetness from the bro's best friend.
With a bit of Greek mythology sprinkled in over top of gang wars and corruption, Thief is a dark and suspenseful romance that unravels page by page. This slow-burn RH/why-choose starts a little bit bully, but quickly begins to turn into a budding romance with some added will they/won't they angst. It has all the action and adventure of a paranormal romance without the supernatural elements and is another incredible read with an ending that will have you diving straight into book 2 ([b:Fighter|60037153|Fighter (Sterling Falls, #2)|S. Massery|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1647903037l/60037153._SY75_.jpg|94654640]). Yes, that does mean it's got a cliffhanger...

That cliffhanger from [b:Thief|59651625|Thief (Sterling Falls, #1)|S. Massery|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1637278597l/59651625._SX50_.jpg|93792249] had me jumping straight into Fighter and I guarantee this is another series that you won't want to read through slowly. This was one of those books that kept me up reading way too late because I just needed "one more chapter" and when I finally finished it at 2am I hated myself for having to stop before diving into book 3.
With more romance (and yes, smut), Fighter gives us more info about Sterling Falls and its gangs as well as Kora and her past. But there are still so many questions - in fact every answer almost leads to another question, making this series is deliciously suspenseful without being frustrating... except for the fact that there is adulting to be done and I can't binge through the rest in one day.

This was such a cute Christmas romance! I absolutely love the brother’s best friend trope, and couldn’t get enough of this small town Hallmark-with-smut type romance. I’m new to Maren Moore, but I’ll be jumping into her backlist immediately!
I loved this book! At first, there are a LOT of POVs and it feels chaotic and confusing. But very quickly I got to know the characters and by the mid-point I was flying through the chapters and POV changes like it was nothing!
One of my favorite tropes is arranged marriage/marriage of convenience. And this has oodles of that! I loved following through from the auction to their first interactions with their fiancées and will absolutely need to read the rest to find out how the (rest) of the weddings go!
This was a refreshing take on a favorite trope and I honestly loved all of the characters so much, it would be hard to choose a favorite pair. Definitely check this out, and you don’t have to wait for sequels as all four volumes are available now!

I loved this book! Well, these books, since this is the entire series in one "omnibus." Be prepared for a longer story and keep in mind that it's not a single very long book!
Rivals follows Annie and Tyler throughout their love story, meeting and separating multiple times until they are finally able to get it right. The chemistry between the two is wonderful, and the narrators did a fantastic job (as always!) with these characters. If you love rockstars, angsty second chance romances, definitely give this one a listen!
