Huh... I really thought I'd like this book a lot more than I did. At the beginning I was really into it, it was going well... seemed like it was going to be a nice dark PNR. And then... I don't even know what happened.

As other reviews mention, there is a scene around 25%ish

where Solon refuses to sleep with her during her lust phase of the becoming, and instead has his right hand man, Wolf, take over

which really had an effect on the romance and how involved I ended up being in the couple.

If this were a RH or a Menage, I could see that scene playing out very differently in the long run, but since it's MF, it really didn't sit right the way/when it happened, in my opinion.

Then the rest of the book I was almost disinterested. I have no problems DNF a book, but at 75% when I considered it because I realized I just didn't care about the characters enough, I decided that I didn't DISlike it and that maybe the ending would make up for it. So I persisted... and I'm honestly not sure if I care that I did. It ended in a way that could make this a standalone for sure, but there is a second book in this duet. I doubt I'll ever read it - the standalone ending is good enough for me.
