Being completely honest, I haven't read [b:Stealing Snow|28260524|Stealing Snow (Stealing Snow, #1)|Danielle Paige|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1453999507l/28260524._SY75_.jpg|44880721] since it came out. So while some aspects were ringing a bell, I was a bit preoccupied trying to figure out what was going on.
But other than that I was so glad to be back in one [a:Danielle Paige|7305254|Danielle Paige|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1384272876p2/7305254.jpg]'s worlds because I love her series, though I never got around to reading the novellas. This had everything I have come to expect from Paige: great writing, great story, and a great retelling. I was bit put off by the littler mermaid aspect as I was not expecting it, but it soon morphed into the story I somewhat recalled from her previous book and I was hooked.
I wish the sequel to this series would come out soon because it's been four years...
But this was good too. At least there's more. For now.

I absolutely loved this. I could not put it down. I read it in one sitting. Danielle Paige is amazing and I love her main works, but these novellas are giving them a run for their money. I will definitely put rereading [b:Stealing Snow|28260524|Stealing Snow (Stealing Snow, #1)|Danielle Paige|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1453999507l/28260524._SY75_.jpg|44880721] higher up on my to-do list now, as while I recognized some names and images I had associated them with while reason Stealing Snow for the first time, it has been years since I picked it up.
This a great self-contained story, but I was distracted trying to piece together what I do remember about Stealing Snow and reimagining it in that context. However, this made for a great story on its own without any other context and I loved it.

It was okay. Not my favourite book of all time and it dragged out forever in the middle. I liked the build-up and execution to the plot twist though, that thats why I bumped it up because it was very well written in that regard. I can't say I'm a large fan of this book or any of its characters. It's by no means a bad one, but not my personal taste and I'm glad I got it through a kindle sale. I'd only pick up the sequel in such a sale.

Similar to my thoughts on Circe by the author; the writing was amazing but I found that the story gre thinnabd boring after a while. It was a good read.

This book dealt with some very interesting concepts in a unique way around the idea of spiritual healing instead of punishment. It was a very engaging read, reminiscent of survival stories like [b:Hatchet|50|Hatchet (Brian's Saga, #1)|Gary Paulsen|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1385297074l/50._SX50_.jpg|1158125] which I enjoyed and made this a very quick read. Some of the dialogue was a bit cheesy and was not this books strong suit. However, all the characters were very well developed, especially the MC and in the chapters where he is left alone on the island everything was well written from the descriptions to his internal reflections. I liked this a lot more than I thought I would.

I found this third bit somewhere in between. It had some harrowing scenes that are still burnt into my mind and some amazing writing though I didn't enjoy reading it as much as I did the first part. Overall this book was amazing and I would reccomend it highly. It's the first book I've read all the way through since lockdown began and ims really glad this is was it. It was gripping.
I also lived the MC Rin as she was interesting, yet deeply and obviously flaws in some ways. Her character grew throughout the novel but I can tell she has a long way to go and it nice to read about someone who felt like they could be a real person with real fults.

This was great. The plot was very intriguing and I loved the lead Remi. The work was very interesting with many mysteries spread out, like why does a seemingly alien planet with aliens have NASA tech? I'm obsessed with the more pastel colour palette and the character designs. It gave a really unique feel to the entire story and I loved how the colour reflected the different areas. The art was very good quality and the character was very expressive with their faces and movements which helped propel me through the series.
I will be eagerly awaiting the next volume.

This took a really long time to get good. And it had such an interesting premise. But it spent way too much surfing and staring at hot dudes and not enough time building up the world and the politics of the Talon. Which sucked because I really really really wanted to like this book. I mean it had dragons!!! That should be epic. But it was all misplaced and issued. However, the ending was a solid 3 stars and I would like to see where the series goes. Maybe it gets a lot better.
