Still a wonderful series. I found this one to be a little more predictable at times--one of the major twists I was able to guess early-- but otherwise, this is still a family that I love to read about over and over again. I listened to it on audio and really enjoyed it.

I loved it. I laughed out loud at a few parts, it didn't seem stereotypical, and I loved learning more about the history of comics at the end. I also appreciated the bit of historical knowledge in the author's note. I know the relationship between China and Japan is something I could learn more about, and I appreciate Yang including it.

I've seen this one on Mock Newbery lists already, and I loved Prues' past two books, but I wasn't feeling this one. I've heard some people don't like it because they find the narrator unlikable, but that wasn't my problem. I think it veered between folklore and reality a bit too often for me, and I didn't really buy the way Greta and Astri got on board the ship.

I wasn't expecting to like this book for a few different reasons. I chose to read it on the WattPad app, which has some formatting issues. These distracted me from the story line, but I wanted instant gratification, so I can't complain. I was also doubtful about my enjoyment because it took me a while to understand the weaving part of the world. However, once I got past that, I was really into it and couldn't stop reading. I was trying to limit myself to a chapter a day and I went past that. Looking forward to Altered.

Powerful read, especially with the stark illustrations.

So good and timely.

I'm not a huge basketball fan, but I still read this book quickly and enjoyed it. The ending was a bit abrupt for me.

This book wasn't what I expected, but I still enjoyed it. Ellie learns more about her family, what she likes and doesn't like and the ups and downs of friendship. I always love a book with a great grandparent/grandchild relationship, which this one does well. I also liked that Ellie's parents, while divorced, could still be civil to one another.
