I received a eARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest opinion.

Oh boy, this was a fun, odd ride.

I have to start by saying that I wouldn't like for my doctor to be someone who finished medicine not because their goal was to help the sick, to find a cure for cancer or something in that direction but the goal was to beat their rival. Why would you put yourself through med school to beat someone at it? I mean, the competition can be good for growth as a person and as a professional in your field of expertise, but not if it is your sole motivation just to be better from that one person.

Now, I did have a problem in the first part of the book connecting with the characters and how shallow they seamed to be, but... I did like the furder development of their banter and the fake dating. The banter on the social media was perfect.

Overall the story and the writing was interesting and keeps you reading but some parts felt displaced. The best way for me to describe it is that it was a solid tree with beautiful branches but with a wrong kind of leaves on it. It is odd at first but at the end you except it as it is, interesting in its own way...

If you want a quick, fun, steamy read you should read this book.

I read this novella via audiobook and I did have a problem with the female voice actor, so I suggest it is better to read a physical copy.

I previously read Bound by the Battle God and this couple had such a nice loving connection so I had to read this one.

I liked that princess Halla was older than king Mathior, it was a refreshment since so many books have a relationship of an 18yo female with an older guy. And above all that he waited for her for 16 years.

Some weird wedding customs, but somehow author made it work connecting it to some events in the past of the king's tribe.

This book needs cover redesign ASAP! DO NOT judge this book by its cover!

I loved this book!
Why haven't I read this sooner?!

I've previously read some of Ruby Dixon's books and I was quite surprised with this one.
The world-building was amazing. The story of ascending gods who need redemption and in their journey they need a human to "ground" them. It had it all, the new interesting world, gods, character development, wonderfully written banter between the main characters, a kick-ass heroine, and a possessive, godlike hero. Of course, the spice is a must in Ruby Dixon books and this time it was just that, the perfect spice for a great story.
What I like when I read fantasy is when the book starts slowly with just a few characters so I can get into the story and the variety of characters comes in gracefully throughout the development of the story. This was just a perfect example of that. Chefs kiss!
Both Faith and Aron are in the same position at the start, their need to find their way home, and that is just the start of their journey together while they find their way they find their rightful place in their world. There are a lot of emotions entangled in this web of different kinds of characters and with that comes great character development. This was a slooow burn romance and it comes in the story with perfect timing. Both of them were not perfect in every way and that is why they are so relatable.
This was a fun and enjoyable read, and I will be diving into the next one. I'm looking forward to further exploring this world.

I received a copy of eARC from NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion.

Overall it was an ok read.

My main problem with the book was that the story was written in the third person POV. When the accent of the book is on the romance part, third-person writing does not work for me. This is my preference, it might work well for someone else, but this was the main obstacle for me to get into the story.
With that said, the writing was fine. In some parts, there was a bit of info dump that was getting harder to go through and in my opinion, didn't bring much to the story.
Faith's character is described as a black and white character which is opposite to Cam who looks at a problem in a gray spectrum. This is the best way to describe their relationship, why it fell apart at first, and the obstacle they have to pass so they could get their second chance. The sexual chemistry between them is strong but it felt that their connection is mostly physical. It was all about how better-looking they are than they were before (they looked great before, but still, they are more handsome now), not how did they grow as a person...

Did I love it? Not really... Did I enjoy it? Yes.

This was an amazing and delicious read :)
It has all the perfect ingredients, a perfect blend of humor, love, life, mixed with "for better and for worse", some old movies, and a sprinkle of Paris deLights.
From the first page, I was hooked on the story. I was laughing so hard and it was so easy to love the main characters. The chemistry between them was such a strong bonding material that build up the whole story. Chefs kiss!

Some of the tropes:
Miscommunication
Childhood friend to enemies to lovers
Fake dating
Brothers best friend

I love the main theme of the book. Through all the pain and hurt that chronic illness brings, the true meaning of love shines in its brightest colors. Just a perfect read to give you a boost not to give up and to believe in yourself.

Evie is such a lovely character and her love for sweet pastry is well-represented in her personality. The chronic illness that shapes her life is something that not everyone can connect but putting it from her perspective it is easy to see how life can be affected by the things we cannot control. Now comes Liam, a man that is just perfect, when she's in doubt he is right there to snap her out of it in a most beautiful way. The banter between them ...perfection... I was laughing out loud in public places by myself, not awkward at all ;)

I especially enjoyed the glimpses of the Paris ambiance and its architecture. It made this whole love story complete.

I truly recommend this book, especially to all the women who ever experienced any kind of discomfort and doubt due to any kind of chronic illness and to all the men to read and learn :)

2.5⭐

Well... this was an ok book.

The science theme of the book got me interested from the start, love in the laboratory... nice :)

But then...

I had a problem with the chemistry (pun intended) between the two main characters, Lizz and Tom. At the start of the book, the way they meet and start their story felt kinda off, purely physical... A few years forward and they are enemies and the reason they are enemies could be completely avoided if someone just acted as an adult and a scientist, that they both were, and talked to each other.
The story goes too fast and without an explanation of how things happened, they are just enemies now... I did not care for them, he was horrible to her in the present time, with red flags all over the place. Even with the ending, he was not the type of person that gave a reason for forgiveness with that kind of character development... Not much of a character there...
Both of them change their minds a lot...
The "sexual tension" between the two of them was closer to torture than tension...

Another thing that was bugging me was the science thing....there was not much science happening. They could have been in any other field of work and it wouldn't make any difference. Science wasn't an important part of the story.

I liked the part of the story that shows us that love is something that you can find at any age and we can see that through their parents. It is never too late to find the right person for you and for you to heal. On the other hand, there was that odd moment of the main characters being step-siblings, but let's ignore that...

The writing was ok, that is all I have to say

 I loved this book!

This is the second book from Emily Henry that I have read and only because it was this month's read from the book club. The previous one I didn`t like that much but I loved this one! I got a love story full of heartwarming, angry, heart-crushing, joyful, forgiving moments.

The story of getting out of your comfort zone and having a new point of perspective on some parts of our life was beautifully put together, the dare was a nice way of making it happen. The writing was so nice and enhanced the real natural flow of the story, you just have to keep reading. Stopping was not an option :)

As for January and Gus, I loved the banter between the two of them from the first pages, the chemistry between them was adorable. And the ending was so cute, you will finish this book with a smile and your heart full. Two people growing and healing together, they were opposite sides of life perspectives, one of them being the optimist and the other pessimist. It felt as if Gus`s storyline was better told, it had a veil of mystery that made it more interesting, and you have to admit... man written by women and is a writer, of course, he will say all the right things

If you haven`t read this book by now, this is your sign to do so!

This was a kinda weird read for me, in a good way. It ended as a 4 ⭐ read but it started as a 2.5/3 stars.

Guen is a character that is presented with a mental illness, and from that point, it was kind of predictable how things will work out, it put me off for a bit. But as the story progresses, and Luthor takes a bigger part of the story it gets interesting.
It's just as the first part of the book is something to just go through to get to the good part.

The character's ark doesn't have much of a development, but on the other hand, this is a short read and mostly based on world-building. We'll hopefully see the character development through the other books in the series as the story develops.

Now that I got that out of my system... The writing was so easy to read and the world-building is quite interesting with a grand veil of mystery of which side is telling the truth. It was getting better by the end that got me to raise my ratings.
The ending was fast-paced action that raises heart rate while reading it. It ends with so many questions left unanswered.

And for the end... The epilogue... Chefs kiss!
You just have to go to the next book!

This book was sent to me as ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I have to say, other than Twilight, I haven't read many books about vampires. But after this one...I will.

The prologue...got me hooked right away! The mystery, the questions...

The book was beautifully written and it has artwork throughout the book. Such an amazing touch that embellishes the story and the characters. This shows how much of the author's time and attention to detail went into making this book.

The first chapter of the book started shooting straight to the heart. It was so well written, and regarding the heaviness of the topic of the chapter, with just a few carefully selected words a lot was said. In some life situations, we don't need a lot of words to understand the pain and the hurt that someone is going through. This was a perfect example of that statement.

The fact that it all happens in our world makes it so much easier to connect to the story. Our world infused with vampires, monsters, greek mythology, magic... and all that seasoned with just the right amount of spice :) It starts in the present time but the story goes so much deeper.

With such a nice start to the book, I was worried that some parts of the story would be forgotten in the latter chapters (as some authors tend to do) but they didn't! :) Every detail was addressed throughout the whole story. Every part from the beginning to end was woven beautifully.

Cass and Damien ... love can last forever! That is all I will say :) Love them!

As for the side characters I wish we had a bit deeper background story for them, I kinda missed them at some parts of the book, but in the end, they pulled through :)

Looking forward for book #2!
