Dragged a bit in the middle, interesting premise. Really liked the bits told by the stalker made it less creepy and I actually had sympathy for her.

Cute. Loved seeing some of my favorite literary characters reimagined. At first it was disconcerting to hear them referencing crossfit, selfies, and IUIs. I didn't love that Cincinnati was the main city but thank heavens it was the overused cities of LA or NYC.

I loved Chip and Jane and the treatments for both kitty and Mary. I was saddened that the decision was made for Mr. Bennett and Liz to have a less understanding relationship. He was always one of my favorites.

While I liked the book tremendously and laughed out loud a few times, I think I liked it most because of my ability to compare it to the original. I enjoyed how the author adapted it, however if it hadn't been an adaptation of a beloved story, I'm not sure I would have liked it as much as I did.

I would still recommend it, particularly for Austen fans.

Not sure where to start. I loved it and hated it.

The main character was horrible, she was vindictive and manipulative before any of the tragic events occurred and instead of finding compassion or redemption she enjoyed tormenting others like her who were most like her.

I understand where she was coming from, having attending the school in question for a few years myself but she exaggerated and made it as if the snobby, self-centered and bullying people she described were the whole school rather than a slice of the population.

I don't recall a story whose main character I didn't like as much as I didn't like Ani - except perhaps catcher in the rye - but I actually did enjoy the book. I suspect I liked it more for my connection to the school and the area more than anything or maybe because I thought she would have a change of heart at the end?

I liked this one less than the first one, I thought I knew who the culprit was before she did because she was blinded by prejudice. It was a good story to listen to though. It helped me pass the time while doing household chores. The narrator irritated me when she said paaaapeeer but otherwise the voice was well suited.

Can I give it 3.5 stars? I actually listened to it which was great because it was the author and his sister Amy narrating. I laughed out loud a few times but it's just not my kind of book in the long run. Funny to listen to while cleaning out a closet but would have put it down if I had been reading in bed I think.

I'd give it 3.5 stars. Grabbed it in the bargain bin while I was looking for a beach read. This one is based off Outlander, which I love, so I gave it a whirl. It was cute, predictable and a little dull. Good for the beach and the fact that I only paid $4.

Ugh. Horrible ending! The guy was a Cad and the girl who stared off so independent and uncaring about the affections of men became a simpering idiot who threw her life away. Such a shame.

Wow. I really really enjoyed this one, not the whole time, but I really liked it. I know it's not a biography, but it gave me pause and made me consider my notions of a president I thoroughly dislike (bush jr.)

There were times when the overt graphic sexual thoughts and actions seemed out of place and jarring, but they stopped about midway through the book and the insight the author showed on how people with completely different ideologies can still love and respect and care for one another was almost profound.

I think it could have been a bit short, but honestly, I loved Alice and her way of seeing things, I wish she had a bit more backbone but i understood why she acted the way she did, the decisions she made, and even the times she let life happen instead of being an active participant. I was sad when this one ended, and would recommend it (particularly the audio version I listened to) to anyone looking for a good book.

4.5 stars

Loved this!! Transportive and wonderful. The author has a terrific understanding of readers and their love for the written word. Truly great.
