Luckiest Girl Alive by Jessica Knoll
4.0

Not sure where to start. I loved it and hated it.

The main character was horrible, she was vindictive and manipulative before any of the tragic events occurred and instead of finding compassion or redemption she enjoyed tormenting others like her who were most like her.

I understand where she was coming from, having attending the school in question for a few years myself but she exaggerated and made it as if the snobby, self-centered and bullying people she described were the whole school rather than a slice of the population.

I don't recall a story whose main character I didn't like as much as I didn't like Ani - except perhaps catcher in the rye - but I actually did enjoy the book. I suspect I liked it more for my connection to the school and the area more than anything or maybe because I thought she would have a change of heart at the end?
