delightful! the real life/online aspect was balanced well and i loved the tension. really fun cast of characters, especially the kids. the third act, post-conflict, dragged a bit, especially since the beginning and middle were so fun. enjoyed the mental health rep and importance of family!! also i'm obsessed with ravi signing a very emotional email with "best wishes" lol

at any given moment i am screaming incoherently or writing 5-paragraph essays in my mind about this book!! so tender and romantic but also flirty and funny. i have 95 kindle highlights and i'm not stopping any time soon <3 if you want to make me cry just ask me about the last line of this book
(this review will get longer the closer we get to publication and yes that's a threat. be scared!!!!)

thank you to smp for the earc and clare gilmore's beautifully brilliant brain for paige and liam :*

fun for the most part but didn't do that much for me and the third act conflict felt a bit rushed

where do i even begin …
  • the majority of this book was fairly boring and the last hour of the audio was insanely rushed and packed
  • the romance is such a minor part of the actual story but is somehow still rushed and felt very forced. i was told about their chemistry rather than shown it
  • the margaret plot didn’t really give me much either … so in the middle i wasn’t even sure what the book was about
  • suffers from the classic case of does too much yet not enough
  • last four words are the title. unacceptable even from emhen
  • the letter? read aloud? cheap writing
  • did not feel connected to any of the characters
  • i did like the setting and think that the build out of margarets family was interesting
  • there were a few character things or plot bits that felt veryyy similar to other books (beach read and book lovers mainly)
  • what was the point of theo
overall it was kind of a snooze and then it was INSANE and then it was over. marketing this as a romance is not fair to readers or the story (but also somehow this is her hottest book when it comes to the physical relationship? can’t make it make sense.)
