romance is surface level, character development is nonexistent, writing is needlessly fluffy and don’t even get me STARTED on the cover

kind of a snooze! shocked to say that about a lisa kleypas book!

just not feeling any pull to the story right now :/ and the love interest is an asshole! not in a fun way! life is too short for books i don’t feel much of anything about

skimmed the rest of this on kindle but was just not connecting with or liking the relationship. the writing is great and i loved the audio narrator though!!! just don’t think i could do another five hours of it with all the conflict i knew was coming. will definitely look into this authors next book though

i  do not really care about this pairing and am not invested enough in either of the characters to see them through the story. disappointed!! the premise seemed interesting!! her still being obsessed with him after 7 years is 😬 and i just know when i find out he’s been in love with her the whole time or whatever despite being MARRIED i will be pissed.

in a horrendous reading slump and the episodic writing is not helping me :( would like to come back to this eventually!

writing was not working for me (weirdly) and i was so bored :((( the second book in a duology should not be as slow as this one
