I really enjoyed this! Eliza is a great character - her life is messy, she's got a lot to learn, and she's trying so hard. I love a YA book like this that balances romance, friendship, self-discovery, family, and identity, and this book does it so well. Sophia Lee doesn't shy away from the characters' mistakes and the way she allows them to make them and then learn from them really made an impression on me.

so much fun! great cast of characters and loved being in riley’s head - she is delightfully chaotic and i found her flaws endearing. jenna voris’ writing flows very naturally and she is hilarious :) need to pick up her 2024 release asap!!!

really enjoyed this one! i don't usually gravitate towards famous people books, but i'm glad i gave this one a shot. lots of tension, but also lots of tenderness and emotional internal resolution. i appreciate how alicia didn't shy away from micah's flaws or mistakes (let her be a complex female character!!) and while she didn't get off easy, she didn't get overly punished for anything. i really liked john's character and arc (also he's HOT! anyway) and think that the timeline for the book's modern timeline was well balanced, since the cruise was like four days and hooking up on a boat does not a relationship make. i know some people may say this book wasn't doing much plot-wise but i really liked that! all the ryder drama in the first half was plenty for me. also really enjoyed side characters like tatiana and frankie and was not expecting so much diversity but alicia did a great job! the happy gasp i gasped when i read that micah is bi .. alicia i love you for that

love how tender and tension-filled this is! what a delightfully grumpy man who loves plants and acts of service. what a headstrong, hyper-independent woman who loves her community and is doing her best for her daughter. the third-act conflict and resolution got a tiny bit too dramatic for me, but i did like the gestures.
DUH! audio was sooo fun - i was expecting a different voice for aiden but i really loved ej by the end and hathaway was perfect for lucie. the audio transcripts remain iconic and hilarious.
