Such a good YA fantasy with just the right amount of romance 👌🏼 I enjoyed this more than I thought I would. I preferred Wren’s chapters to Rose’s, mainly because I really, really like Tor 🙈 he gave off such strong Matthias Helvar vibes, I love him 😂
Wren did have a few eyerolling moments where she was acting impulsively and endangering herself because of it, but I still liked her. She’s so snarky and sarcastic. Rose and Shen were cute too but Tor and Wren are definitely my fave 😅

There were a few scenes that were a bit ridiculous but not enough to make me dislike the book because of it. The party with the wild Gevran fashion choices comes to mind (I lost it when king Alarik appeared shirtless with leather pants 😂).

Definitely reading the sequel.

Before I’d ever read any Lisa Kleypas book, I’d attempted to start this book a couple of times. Unfortunately I never seemed to be able to get into it. So I decided to try another Lisa Kleypas book and ended up really enjoying the Wallflowers series! And I’m so glad I went back to this Mine Till Midnight after reading those. It’s definitely better to read the Wallflower books first because of the recurring characters. I still had a bit of a rough time getting through this one though. It wasn’t as great as the Wallflower books, but still a fun read. I also can’t wait for Winn and Merripen’s story, they kept teasing it.

Absolutely loved this, think I might’ve discovered a new favourite in Lynn Painter because I also really enjoyed The Do-Over. I loved all the romcom references and because When Harry Met Sally was mentioned so many times I think I should finally maybe watch it? 😅
