Such a good YA fantasy with just the right amount of romance ππΌ I enjoyed this more than I thought I would. I preferred Wrenβs chapters to Roseβs, mainly because I really, really like Tor π he gave off such strong Matthias Helvar vibes, I love him π
Wren did have a few eyerolling moments where she was acting impulsively and endangering herself because of it, but I still liked her. Sheβs so snarky and sarcastic. Rose and Shen were cute too but Tor and Wren are definitely my fave π
There were a few scenes that were a bit ridiculous but not enough to make me dislike the book because of it. The party with the wild Gevran fashion choices comes to mind (I lost it when king Alarik appeared shirtless with leather pants π).
Definitely reading the sequel.
