As a lover of musicals, this book won me over immediately!
BLURB:
Ethan Carter, the absolute sweetest Broadway lead, prefers to keep his life private. Traumatic pieces of his past make him fearful to let new people in.
Evie O'Hara is grieving the loss of her husband, but watching Ethan's performances and music have helped in her journey of healing.
When their lives collide for weekend, sparks FLY. Ethan and Evie don't understand how they can feel as though they've know each other for a lifetime.
As their time together is limited, they make the most of every moment, wondering what it means that they both have such strong feelings yet so many fears and barriers to overcome...
REVIEW:
I couldn't get enough of this!!!
At only 229 pages, this story flies by while somehow still leaving a massive imprint on my heart.
The characters were complex and loveable. The romance was believable. And the struggles they faced were so genuine and relatable.
Evie did a beautiful job showing what grief would be like when trying to love again, and a HEALTHY relationship in which the two figure out how to navigate those difficult waters. Ethan is such a sweetheart.
If the musical references aren't enough, Avery also has a playlist for this book!!!! She's amazing.
There are several books in the Hearts of Broadway series and I can't wait to read them all!

Darcy Sinclair is my new favorite psychological thriller character!
This book was so easy to read and devour. I loved the tension of Darcy's small, "happy" community and the fear dwelling in it as the murders began. The mystery unraveled so perfectly with unexpected twists and turns.
Darcy was very empathetic, and Nic Winter represented her trauma so well. She was a smart, strong, and engaging lead who I could actually relate to.
The characters were well developed. Occasionally it was hard to keep some of them straight, but I felt like they all played interesting roles in the plot!
There was drama, deception, and suspense. I cant wait for Nic's next book!!

Such a gentle and kind approach for managing "care tasks" in ways that won't make you feel overwhelmed and discouraged. Only a three hour audiobook and so worth the listen.
I thoroughly loved this book! The magical realism elements were so fun. The author handled grief so well, and the author's note inside the readers guide made it all the more meaningful.
Even though you feel like you know how it's going to end, that made me want to read it more. While most plot points were fairly predictable, I felt pleasantly surprised the overall lesson that Clementine learns throughout the journey - it didn't take the route I expected!

Full review coming soon!!! This is one of my favorite books of the year. Alternate realities and a loveable lead?? My kind of book.
Lerner always has great perspectives on making changes in relationships!
What!! I read this book in about 4 hours I think, literally couldn't put it down. The tension, the characters... My adrenaline is so high! What a wild ride. Highly recommend.
I did not expect to fall in love with this book the way I did!!
The writing was so readable, the characters loveable and complicated, and the romance was PERFECT.
Ian was the absolute sweetest and best male romance lead I have maybe ever read. The dual timeline created intrigue, as I was desperate to know what caused things to "crash and burn" in the past.
Sometimes Amelie made me frustrated staying in her relationship and not realizing she deserved better. But it all MADE SENSE and was unfortunately very realistic for someone who grew up the way she did.
I sometimes just want to go back and read this book again because the journey was sooo lovely. If you want a cozy romance with good food, adorable banter, and heart melting romance... Pick this!!!

The premise of death dates has always been interesting to me - this new book stood out to me because it has a similar premise to my own dystopian fiction novel! But what I love is how two authors can take a similar idea and create entirely different stories.
Trista Lundquist explores a world where science has allowed people to uncover their "year of death." The main character Lai has a YOD of 18, which is significantly shorter than the others in her community. Her skepticism and curiosity grows as she turns 18 and notices some suspicious things in her town.
There was a twist about halfway through that was super intriguing!! I got goosebumps! My only critique would be the bigger doses of world building and descriptions that made some parts feel slower, but the plot picked up as the story went on.
This book is like The Giver x The Measure...Or if I'm gonna be annoying (lol) I could use When Death Is Coming as a comp title because I do think if you enjoyed mine, you'd like seeing another author's interpretation of this idea!
Very excited to continue reading this series. Thank you to the author for the ARC in exchange for a review!
