I want to give this a 4 cause there's moments I really enjoyed. I love Miles. I think he's awesome and he comes into his own as these stories progress. I love the fact Spider-man NAME can be passed down to others and still hold up the same values. That was the biggest thing for me in heroes realm. That the "suit" and the "name" can be ANYONE who holds the same values. I know for some that's insane. It's the person behind the mask! However I always felt anyone can be a hero if you give them a chance and it works here pretty well.

The first half of this book, or least 1/3rd, is a crossover event with the Ultimates. I guess something big happened (stopped keeping up with Ultimate universe awhile before this) and Cap is now president. So he tells Miles he can't be Spider-man. However Miles joins and they fight Hydra for world domination. 2/3rd of the book is Venom war where Venom thinks he knows who the new Spider-man is and goes hunting. The last portion is about Miles not being Spider-man anymore and doing a retelling of the "No More".

What I liked: The Venom War event was good, though I had issues with Venom himself. However the events that happened and especially a death really hit hard. It was to build up Miles and give him more to deal with. I also like the last portion quite a bit. Watching Miles a year older is a lot better and I can see him dealing with teenage years + life in a lot of tough ways. Also Cloak and Dagger are boss. Oh and I have huge crush on Spider-women and Jessica Drew in Ultimate Universe is soooo hot <3

What I didn't like: The first arc felt like a wacky confusing crossover that did Miles no justice. The moment with caps felt rushed and not fun at all. Then venom war arc was good but the idea behind why Venom is here is left...unexplained. He just returns. Like wtf? Also I feel like Bendis didn't know what to do with Gwen here so she's just...here. Shame cause loved her in the original run.

I still think Miles is great, and moments here are wonderful, but it's uneven like volume 1 which felt was a lot better in flow. Still, very much worth reading. Especially if you're watching Homecoming this weekend you should check this out to get more High School fun times!

This was a solid followup. Volume 3 was better but some things I did love in here. This is broken into two parts. First half revolves around a crazy puppet master chick with a doll who can, you guessed it, talk and kill people. Sounds dumb right? Actually it's the best part. Super exciting and fun and the villain is creepy as fuck and perverted so makes it entertaining. Then we have the second half where Knightfall go after Gordan cause he knows too much. Inbetween we got some fun little moments with Ricky and Bab going on a date and then something horrible happening. It's pretty full and a lot works, but not all.

What I liked: I enjoy Ricky and Babs. I think we get to see outside of the Batgirl suit and that's always a plus for character growth. I also really enjoyed the doll, as he was just super creepy, and his one liners and such were funny as heck. I enjoyed Batgirl not getting over the events of the last volume. What he had to go through with the Joker and then her brother was entertaining and tough. So Glad it's taking the time to show that.

What I didn't like: Knightfall or whatever their name is isn't all that interesting. Infact I find them really over the top and boring. I also didn't like how Gordan was reacting. I get his hatred for batgirl up to a point. He knew his son was a piece of shit, and I get parents love their kids that much, but after the history of his son and then Batgirl I just wasn't buying it.

Still a solid volume for Gail's run. I enjoyed this tiny bit more than 2 but not as much as 3. On to volume 5, the final one, and hope it ends strong!

I didn't connect with this one as much as the others. This is basically a bunch of one shots put together. There's some connections here and there but for the most part all broken into their own stories. That can be good though! Except when most feel little filler like or not that interesting. A story involving a happy version of gotham, ivy, vampires, and big black creatures that look like venom. None of them seem to click with me 100% and so I kind of drifted away from it.

What I liked: There's some great moments. I liked Babs inner thoughts on the Batfamily after the loss of Dick, and enjoyed the costume of the happy version of Batgirl/gotham. I think the art is still pretty solid.

What I didn't like: No connection to each other stories. I really thought this felt like a bunch of one shots put together without much thought beyond that. There wasn't room for Babs to grow like she was in previous volumes.

Overall sad this is how the series ends. I really thought most of this series was between a 3-4. I felt this could have been a great finish but sadly not...A 2/5.

I know people don't like to get political. It scares them. That's fine. I thought the same growing up too. I never liked to talk about it because people get nasty about it. But I always used music and comics as a outlet, and damn near every comic/artist used music as their outlet to help express their views. Some I agreed with, some not so much. What I always found amazing was the fact they even took the RISK to do so. To alienate a fan from their work because of their views. It made me think "Oh I'd never speak up. I don't want people to hate me." But I learned the older I got that it's okay. If someone HATES me because of my views I shouldn't care what they think in the first place.

Why am I bringing this all up? Because Nighthawk is a comic that bases its first arc largely around Police, police brutality to be exact, but also a overarching message of going too far to justify the means. It's actually a pretty important message and I think David handles it very well. I thought Powerman and Ironfist was a surprise hit so I was excited to try this one. I'm glad I did.

Nighthawk is very similar to Batman in terms of what he could do. He has a few gadgets but his main power is whooping your ass if you piss him off. He has no magical powers (that I know of) just him and a sidekick to help him out over the phone line (or headset.) The story focuses on two things. Police brutality which is one storyline, and a serial killer out there murdering cops/white power members for their past actions. As it progresses they collide which brings Nighthawk into a odd mix of what to do to handle both.

What I liked: The art is pretty solid. Reminds me a lot of Powerman and Ironfist or Hawkeye. Everything flowed smoothly and was pretty easy to follow. I liked Nightshade as well (Old Cap villain) as she's the one feeding him information. Throughout she helps and doesn't feel like a useless add on. I also enjoyed that our hero was always on the line of who to hurt (or kill) and that he had no problem taking a life of people who deserved it but wouldn't just let the Serial killer murder families and such for the action of one person. However, it was nice to see the divide and similarities between em.

What I didn't like: Sometimes the issues talked about in politics today can feel a little heavy handed here. Or well, hamfisted (is that right?) and I knew what David was saying without just plainly saying it. Also the ending is anti-climatic and it makes you said this one got canned.

Overall I think Nighthawk is important. Even if you don't like it, or even if you hate the message because it collides with your view points, I think it's important to encourage a artist/writer to push on with what they love and to do it with love. David obviously cared about these characters and this story to tell and that to me is very respectful. He just happened to also write a really solid story with it. A 3.5 but I'll round it up to a 4!

It's stupid. It knows it's stupid. I can't give it a 1 star because it's fucking stupid. I want to...but how could I? When Cullen obviously wrote this as it being stupid. Holy hell though half the shit makes no sense.

Listen. I'm not one of those guys who cares who can beat who. Cap vs Spider-man, or Iron-man vs Doom, or whatever. I don't care enough to get into big fights over dumb shit like that. But this book disregards most people's powers and uses of their weapons and skills in order for Deadpool to drop one liners and brutally murder them. Except it isn't funny, and the deaths aren't creative.

What I liked: Ummmm I guess Kitty prides "maze" of forever was neat idea (I wanted more of that!) and...yeah that's about it.

What I didn't like: Spider-man death made no fucking sense. Dude has spider sense. Task Master wouldn't be defeated like that, again makes no sense. LOL at Sue being so dumb as to let herself get caught off guard. X23 getting killed like that? Dumb. Just fucking dumb. If you're going to kill off our characters kill them off in CREATIVE ways that make sense. Not this horse shit.

Yeah. It's pretty awful. I can't give it a 1 star though because....wait you know what. Screw what I said. Like Deadpool I break the rules. A 1/5. Screw this.

This is downright in the middle for me. It's not great, it's not bad, it's just OKAY. I'd give this a 2.5 but since I'm feeling nice (And I love my Spidey) I'll be giving this a 3. However, I wish it was better than it was.

What I liked: Going through different villains is a easy way to get caught up with Peter. I also think the artstyle is simple but works well. Almost a throwback for modern day. I also enjoyed the relationship with Aunt May and Gwen here and made it slightly different but it worked.

What I didn't like: Basically volume was is a big highlight reel. Every issue is just Peter beating the bad guy, usually pretty easily. No worry or stakes here. Just Saturday cartoon fun, which is good for newcomers, but kind of lame for us. Also Harry and Norman weren't not very well done if you ask me. Even their relationship seemed off.

Overall this is a book you might enjoy more if you never read Spider-man. It's not horrible but honestly I'd suggest Ultimate Spider-man far more. I'ma go with a 2.5 out of 5.

Roy: Hey Wally don't worry. You'll be okay Wally.
Dick: Yeah Wally, you're the flash. Don't worry about it, Wally.
Wally: Thanks Dick and Roy but you guys...like it's tough. You know Roy? You get it right Dick?
Roy: Yeah Wally. We get it.
Dick: Don't worry about it Flash! We got your back, Wally!

Anything strike out really annoying guys? Like what do you see above that just drives you f'ing nuts? Oh did you forget that Flash is Wally? Did you forget Dick's name even though it's named after a fucking male part of the body. Oh how about Roy? Okay you might have forgotten about Roy. But don't worry! TITANS will REMIND you EVERY second OF every PIECE of DIALOG.

Okay. I'm calm. I'm cool. So anyway. Is this volume better than the last? Yes. Because it has a actual villain that isn't corny or shitty. However, did they work on the art? Nah...not much. Also the writing is still really choppy. So we have a bunch of members of Titans already, right? Let's add in a few more. This mysterious company named Meta Solution is taking powers away from people. Sounds good right? NO. Because they're freaking evil. So the titans must stop them!

What I like: I actually liked the relationship of the two people NOT in the titans. I also enjoy Wally doing is Wally dash and mash attacks. Which isn't much sadly. Also...wonder girl or whatever is kind of cool and aquaman light have a few good moments. Also Wally and Superman moment was GREAT but too bad the rest didn't live up to that.

What I didn't like: The pacing is still pretty bad. Roy is annoying and useless. The Meta Solution people go down quickly. Nightwing is on this team WHY!? Also what is this team for? They're not as cool as the Justice League and not as fun as Teen Titans so they're just...there? Weird. Also the anniversary special was so bad.

Yeah. Titans is really hard to recommend. I like Wally. I like Nightwing. I don't like them together or most of this team. This is a pretty tough comic to tell anyone to read. A 2/5.

I'm really in the middle on this one. It's more like a 2.5 but I gave it a 3 simply because I liked more than I disliked. This volume is kind of split. First half is just a generic looking fish monster named Chamire or whatever choosing to show how "strong" he is by going after Aquaman. It's pretty boring and honestly worried this volume would be a total dud.

Then the second half kicks in and we get Arthur traveling with mara to different portals to find his....MOMA! That's right mofos, big moma ain't dead yet! It's pretty entertaining watching him jump around to visit Mr. Grodd who's just a big old baby now days. Then we find someone important and all hell breaks loose.

What I liked: Watching Aquaman go after his moma brought up some good emotion. I loved watching him vs Grodd. Very entertaining. I also love Mara, of course, cause she so damn fine and so damn badass. Her last few panels in this book were FANTASTIC. I also am eager to see where we go from here.

What I didn't like: The first few issues were a total dud. Like the worst in the entire New52 run. I also didn't feel any emotion to a death because the character was kind of...lame? Oh and Aquaman's mom is kind of a bitch.

Overall it was decent fun but nothing to write home about. Seems that's the calling of most Aquaman stories not written by my dude Johns. Sad. Still. I SHALL FINISH THIS RUN!

So this finishes up Hawkeye. I read Factions run in about a weeks time. It took me 2 years to finish Lemire's so guess that shows what I thought huh? I'll be honest though I didn't hate Jeff's run. It's still solid. Volume 5 had some great flashback moments with WONDERFUL art and some cool ideas with Clint. This volume is the other side of things. Getting the past behind Kate who is the other Hawkeye in the tag team here. This time we learn of a future that could be and it's depressing and the tag team are no more. What sets them apart? We learn that here plus a rescue mission.

What I liked: Moments with Kate and Clint feel real. I love their relationship to be honest. I liked learning of Kate's past and seeing why she chose the Hawkeye name. I liked the future idea and thought it was pretty neat twist.

What I didn't like: The art still fails to live up to the original hawkeye run. I also thought the fight scenes were lackluster. The ending felt a little short and I really felt the whole thing was very low stakes throughout.

I still enjoyed Hawkeye volume 6 but it feels weaker than the rest. Well it's time to get to Kate's story which I hear is a blast! Ordering now!

I tried to like this. I really did. My buddy told me it was great. I opened the book and right away liked the art. I told myself, hey, it's Mice. This could be good...IT COULD BE....but sadly it was not. The idea behind this is the mouse guard send out three warriors to find out what happened to a missing mouse. Death occurs and the big fallout happens where we have to find out why we have traitors in our midst! Then a side story of someone else meeting a old guy because...oh man I dunno.

What I liked: The art. It's really cool and kind of messy, but it works well. I also thought one of the mouse guards was kind of cool, like a badass, who doesn't listen.

What I didn't like: No character besides the one stuck out. The fights were hard to follow at times. The dialog was stiff and boring. I didn't care about the world building mostly because I didn't care about the mice.

Overall this book just seems...boring? Yeah that's what I would use. Well I tried but not all of 'em could be winners!
