Batgirl, Vol. 5: Deadline by Javier Garrón, Gail Simone, Marguerite Bennett, Jonathan Glapion, Fernando Pasarín, Robert Gill, Matt Ryan
2.0

I didn't connect with this one as much as the others. This is basically a bunch of one shots put together. There's some connections here and there but for the most part all broken into their own stories. That can be good though! Except when most feel little filler like or not that interesting. A story involving a happy version of gotham, ivy, vampires, and big black creatures that look like venom. None of them seem to click with me 100% and so I kind of drifted away from it.

What I liked: There's some great moments. I liked Babs inner thoughts on the Batfamily after the loss of Dick, and enjoyed the costume of the happy version of Batgirl/gotham. I think the art is still pretty solid.

What I didn't like: No connection to each other stories. I really thought this felt like a bunch of one shots put together without much thought beyond that. There wasn't room for Babs to grow like she was in previous volumes.

Overall sad this is how the series ends. I really thought most of this series was between a 3-4. I felt this could have been a great finish but sadly not...A 2/5.
