Edge...EDGE...EDGYYYYYYY!!!!!

I felt it pierce my skin as I read this. Man, I love Jeff Lemire, but what the fuck was this?

You like the Teen Titans? You like Teen Angst? Put those together and double, or triple, the amount. Man oh man these kids, teens, whatever, are really fucking dumb and annoying half the time. Also everyone dresses like they belong in the early 2000's when 50 cent was the biggest rapper around. What the hell was with the designs? Especially Vick and Beast Boy?

Oh and Slade...what the fuck was that weak sauce? He sucked so much in this. His son was terrible and the "twist" was so badly done.

Okay some of the art was cool. The backgrounds, some of the fights, I was on board. I also did like Sunfire and Raven. The rest though? What a big gigantic waste. I'll try volume 2 because I hear it's better but damn, this is some edgelord shit right here lol

Man if it wasn't for the last issue this would have been some old bulllllshit. What happened to one of my favorite series ever?

So this is the second half of the "Gods" vs "Superman" arc and it's bad...like real dull, lifeless, badly created. This is a shell of what this series used to be. All the smart talk between characters, all the stakes, all the motivation feels stripped down. People doing stupid shit because...it's stupid. It makes no sense. What a waste.

On the flipside we get a very very good single issue at the end. I went back to check the writer and who is it? My dude Tom Taylor. He came back to fix this mess of a series for just one issue. It's about Plastic Man rescuing his son from prison. In this short 26 page issue we get the heart of the series once more, the stakes are high, you care about EVERYONE. In this single moment it's great again. If only it stayed that way. I fear Year 5 now.

Man am I bummed...BUMMED!

Me: This concept sounds dumb.

Dog: 1 Protect

Me: Fuck....FUCK!

Okay hold the horses here. We got a Grant Morrison book here. You all know my feelings on him. I dislike a lot of his shit. Weird doesn't even cover what he mostly does. However this time we get a book about 3 animals who work for the government as special units to take out scum and the story is very very straightforward. Almost to a point it might be a little too "safe"

So why the high rating? BECAUSE IT HITS YOU WITH FEELS.

For some reason animals like dogs, cats, and even our cute little rabbit feel so innocent despite them being able to fuck up an entire drug cartel. You got Dog, Cat, and Rabbit and then humanity at it's worst. They used these poor animals for their dirty work then wanna get rid of them. They escape and tus a chase begins.

The art is fucking stunning. I expect nothing less from Jupiter's Legacy artist. I mean the fights, the emotions, the multipanaled big splash moments are stunning to say the least. Everyone gives the emotional draw each and every panel. The art is truly the highlight.

The story itself is simple and predictable. However all the emotion put into these moments. When Dog (1) protects Cat/Rabbit (2 and 3) it's so damn awesome. Not to mention when they work as a unit they are fucking badass. You get to see morals questioned and what's right and wrong, which I always enjoy.

A very pleasant surprise to say the least. This is easily the best I read from Grant and just wished he'd write more like this. Damn it Morrison just write fucking normal stories you obviously can do a good job!

Man I love this one as much as the others, though I can see why some won't.

This has a lot of forth wall breaking, a weird issue inbetween about A-Sexuality which may not appeal to everyone, and also a lot of fluff without things moving forward in the main story.

However all the relationship stuff worked really well for me in this one. I loved the forth wall breaking scene as well because the writer/artist are funny as hell. I also LOVED some moments like magical anime vagina monster or the dick pic moment. I also enjoyed the Asexual story even if it felt like a odd placement for it.

On the flipside the stuff with the therapist is kind of lame I'm just not feeling much of that. Even if it has funny moments.

So yeah this remains one of the funniest series out and I will continue reading till it's over!

Man only two more volumes (maybe 1 very large volume) left. I am so sad. This is easily one of the best series of all time. Okay, breath...here we go.

Mark is back and his daughter is much older now. He decides it's time to stop all this hero shit. He loves Eve, he loves his daughter, it's time to get the hell out of dodge. He tells everyone he's out, peace out, and goes. The next few issues are him accepting what has happened when he was gone. Things with Eve, with his kid, with Allan. It's sad, emotional, powerful. Then we get more into his current life, him adjusting to his daughter, his father seeing him again, and we even visit Mr. Robot. You know that crazy fucking nut. Then after that we switch over to King Asshole as he sends his army of little kids to attack. Well just two, but still.

I love the first few issues. As much as I love big battles I love the small moments just as much if not more. Seeing all the family stuff was great. The last two issues are very very quick paced, a lot happens, and it felt a little rushed to me. Maybe because to get to the final arc that's coming we had to rush a little. I didn't get the impact I wanted sadly.

Also the art seemed off. I heard the artist was different than the regular and you can tell. It's off beat and faces are odd.

Still, this is a very solid volume. The first half is VERY strong and makes me so scared for the future cause I might cry without my Invincible. This series will be missed big time and if you haven't read it yet, goddamn it, get on it!!!!!

A extremely good volume once more. Rebirth for Superman has been wonderful.

We have a bunch of individual stories. The weakest being about the "losers" but even that was fun and exciting. Seeing Jon and Clark together just works so well. Their relationship is near perfect feeling of father and son. Then we get a issue where the Kents go out for a fun night and it's both touching and funny as hell. Then you got a great two parter to show how marriage can be bumpy through even the Superhero eyes. Then of course we got the big one. Damien meets Jon. DAMN is this entertaining as fuck!

Without giving spoilers Superman Rebirth really is just hitting ALL the right notes. Making sure it stays true to the character, letting us grow with his son, and then getting entertaining as heck stories with it. I really hope this series continues to be good otherwise I'll cry like a bitch! Keep it up peter!

I read this before I went to sleep. Then I was depressed for the rest of my sleep. Goddamn it this series can really hit you in the feels like no other.

Hazel growing up on the run is both scary and entertaining. It's fun for us to visit all these worlds, meet all these characters, see amazing things but at the same time she's always being hunted. She's always in danger. And Marko and his wife barely have the means to protect her much longer.

The people we meet on this volume are both evil and then the others pure hearted simpltons. The ending result for both parties is both sad, though the last few pages hit the feels so bad I nearly cried. I just felt speechless to be honest. I mean yes, the THING that happens is sad, but the thing right after is just as sad. It kills ya.

Everyone, The Will, Marko, Hazel, EVERYONE, feels like they are slowly breaking down in life. Losing who they were. Just like in real life things get messy and sometimes there's no way to recover. You just become...nothing.

So yes, despite me being angry and depressed this was an amazing f'ing read worth every penny. Saga will go down as top 3 series of all time for me no doubt. Eager to see if it'll bump Y the Last Man out by the end of its run.

This was a huge letdown. I LOVE Brian K. Vaughan. I think he's top 5 writers of all time for comics. I actually think he's the best because of Y The last Man/Pride/Runaways/Saga. However this was not up to par.

Not everything will be a hit. I didn't love Papergirls, just thought it good not great. So now we get We Stand on Guard. A story about America coming up and invading Canada for water supply (among other things) This is in the future and the idea of it is both interesting and realistic in a sense. The story itself, the themes, and even some of the art is great (dat ass is the BEST ass in comics) but the rest? Ehhhh

None of the characters stick. Was very disappointed with that. Amber, the main lead, is probably the one to root for. She supposed to be a badass, a revenge story inside her, yet I felt nothing. THe crew she meets are all dull and before you get to know them they all vanish anyway. Nothing hits home. Deaths are meaningless. The storyline is rushed. Everything feels pushed to get it done instead of letting it breath.

The art is sometimes great (like I said, that ass) and the fights can be cool but other times the faces are ugly as can be and the movements feel stiff. So 50/50 bag.

Overall this is honestly a skip. Brain's weakest work so far IMO. You're better off re-reading Runaways for actual characters and passing on this one.

100th Book of the year! WOOT WOOT! 200 to go haha.

Okay so the first issue I thought was just okay. Then issue 2 came and was like "better." then the rest blended because I couldn't stop reading. Joe Hill takes the best traits of his father and makes interesting characters with compelling twist and turns.

A odd premise, a weird as hell story that tells you that you're in the middle of it, and a shocking villain who does whatever he needs to. It's great to see each character deal with crazy situations differently and also seeing them all unite and help each other is special. Without spoiling the ending this series opens up to so many possibilities I'm so eager to read more.

Well Joe, just like your father, you made me a fan. Let's get it going!

Damn this volume was super entertaining.

So a Ex-KKK member leaves the group. He doesn't want sorrow or thanks, he wants to kill every KKK member there is. He single handy fucks them up and it makes me so happy. It's great to see a character who does not look for forgiveness but rather use his body to amend his sins by murdering more useless fucks. The ending is also pretty awesome.

I love the character growth of a lot of characters. This story started off little wonky but as you get to know these characters they keep getting better and better. Also the new colorist is great and gives this really grim feeling.

The only negative it doesn't feel like it's moving the main plot forward too much. It kind of feels almost like a side story. Still that's the only negative. Art, character growth, and epic moments all come together in this title.
