Injustice: Gods Among Us: Year Four, Vol. 2
by Brian Buccellato
Man if it wasn't for the last issue this would have been some old bulllllshit. What happened to one of my favorite series ever?
So this is the second half of the "Gods" vs "Superman" arc and it's bad...like real dull, lifeless, badly created. This is a shell of what this series used to be. All the smart talk between characters, all the stakes, all the motivation feels stripped down. People doing stupid shit because...it's stupid. It makes no sense. What a waste.
On the flipside we get a very very good single issue at the end. I went back to check the writer and who is it? My dude Tom Taylor. He came back to fix this mess of a series for just one issue. It's about Plastic Man rescuing his son from prison. In this short 26 page issue we get the heart of the series once more, the stakes are high, you care about EVERYONE. In this single moment it's great again. If only it stayed that way. I fear Year 5 now.
Man am I bummed...BUMMED!
