Saga, Vol. 7
by Brian K. Vaughan
I read this before I went to sleep. Then I was depressed for the rest of my sleep. Goddamn it this series can really hit you in the feels like no other.
Hazel growing up on the run is both scary and entertaining. It's fun for us to visit all these worlds, meet all these characters, see amazing things but at the same time she's always being hunted. She's always in danger. And Marko and his wife barely have the means to protect her much longer.
The people we meet on this volume are both evil and then the others pure hearted simpltons. The ending result for both parties is both sad, though the last few pages hit the feels so bad I nearly cried. I just felt speechless to be honest. I mean yes, the THING that happens is sad, but the thing right after is just as sad. It kills ya.
Everyone, The Will, Marko, Hazel, EVERYONE, feels like they are slowly breaking down in life. Losing who they were. Just like in real life things get messy and sometimes there's no way to recover. You just become...nothing.
So yes, despite me being angry and depressed this was an amazing f'ing read worth every penny. Saga will go down as top 3 series of all time for me no doubt. Eager to see if it'll bump Y the Last Man out by the end of its run.
