Thor second outing is dark as hell, and I'm here for it.
So this collection starts of with a two-parter. Thor throws his hammer down to earth to test a theory. It mostly works as he learns other people can pick up his hammer get the Odin Force. After having a little confrontation with Tony Stark Thor decides he has to take some drastic measures. So he decides to let Donald Blake come back to the real world but Blake isn't too....happy.
This is a great look into Thor and Blake's life and view on things. Loki and the others get to really shine this volume, even Jane does. I liked the fact it felt smaller scale, and the fact we got Frog Thor to show up and he's a fucking badass in this volume.
So yeah overall this was great. A little rushed at the end, but man did I like this arc a lot.

This was Lolztastic!
So Kaguya and Miyuki are our two main leads and they are actually crushing on each other but they won't admit it because that would mean one has to admit it...and that is no good. So the following chapters in this volume are them going back and forth between trying to get the OTHER person to confess their love. This brings up some extremely funny moments thanks to the two leads being lolz and then add in a character like Chika, their friend, and it gets even better.
I was actually legit laughing out loud at parts here. There's a certain bug scene that made me spit out my water. The moment Chika was eating Miyuki's food and Kaguya's reaction was KILLING ME. To be honest, the first two chapters are the weakest part as it is interesting enough to introduce the characters but I didn't love any. But the next few easily won me over. I'll be reading more of this without a doubt.
A 4 out of 5.

The main story was fine...but then the second half was...what the fuck?
The first half is the main story and we get more progress between the two leads. The main guy finding out she's really a girl but not giving a shit and telling her to keep it a secret. Some great moments between the two characters. But 2nd half is a dumbass story that feels more like a AD by the creator than anything. It's not even the same story..it's like taking up half the book for a "sneak preview"
A 3 out of 5 for main story.

This was great! I learned more about sex ed in this manga than I did in all my time at school...sad or what?
This is a pretty educational manga about different things such as masturbation, having sex, or even learning odd facts about animals and their sexual parts. With some jokes thrown in by a great cast of characters consisting of a very honest teacher, a BL lover (Boy X Boy), an Asexual character, and a lesbian, you have a lot of different viewpoints but it all works in a positive way to focus on sex ed and it's great.
I loved all the stories here and I felt like I was learning while reading. Especially funny moments about animals and their many penises or vaginas. I also really enjoyed the art, very easy going and super cute at moments. I love the author didn't sexualize ANYONE even doing sex situations and it all felt very natural.
Overall, fantastic little manga. I can't wait for me.

This was a solid follow-up volume. We get to see Kurama and Hiei in action at full strength.
After both are able to unleash their new abilities we see how ruthless these guys are. It's nice to see them on Yusuke's team because goddamn do they do work. Hiei has an especially "Fuck you" moment that is quite EXPLOSIVE. Then we get Kawabara's dumbass trying his new move and failing in such a wonderful way. But at the end, he says NO MORE, and he gets his groove on.
This isn't as good as the last volume or the next (Seen the anime) BUT it is still a damn fine time. It's amazing how quick these matches are compared to the anime. I believe still entertaining but the matches in the anime felt a lot more "Epic" in a sense of build-up. So little let down there.
Overall though still a lot of fun. A 3 out of 5.

Zeb Wells is one of my favorite Marvel writers in the last few years. He wrote some damn good Carnage stories, excellent Daredevil story about his father, he's currently writing Hellions which is amazing, so yeah, I was excited to try this out.
So I was a little let down I didn't love this.
I mean there's some great parts. When Doug returns and does unspeakable things to the team, it is amazing. Some of the banter is really well done for people of this age. The fights can be a lot of fun too and well drawn (except 1 or 2 issues were ugly as sin)
But yeah it felt more average X-Men storylines than I expected. Same anti-mutant military unit. Same one character on the team has evil or different motivations. The return of fucking Legion again. So yeah it felt a little safe for me.
Saying that was still a fun read just nothing special.

Very dramatic this is lol.
Nakaba is starting to have feelings for Caesar. Loki reminds her that he is the ENEMY! I'm not too happy with the way Caesar treats Nakaba. Grabbing her hair and pulling it and such I'm not a fan of it, and not too sure why she likes him. But of course his rough nature turns her on and they get it on by the end.
I mean, it's not a horrible story or anything. I actually like the characters by themselves, art is stellar, and the pacing is solid. But the actions are like "He treats you bad yet you like him? What?" Never make sense to me.
Still, fun read. As 3 out of 5.

A new player enters the game!
This one is actually more sweet than last two volumes. Kazuya finally realizes he might not like Mami as much as he thought. Instead he finally realizes he might actually like Chizuru more. So he tries to figure his feelings out and begs her to be his rent-a-girlfriend some more. But then a new girl enters and she might have her own secret!
This is sweeter volume which I liked, and also pretty funny at times. It really helps the art is some fantastic stuff with great comedy moments. I'm really starting to like Chizuru more and more as a character and feel her trying her hardest to make it.
Overall, another really fun and solid volume. I'll be continuing to read this one. A 4 out of 5.

I was expecting something way different than I got, and I'm very okay with that.
This is about a low level guy who can't even fight worth shit who goes into a raid and tries to take down baddies to get paid. Going in with this group he believes he'll be lucky in return but instead gets trapped in a room with his colleagues and a statue along with a bunch of other stone statues begin to slaughter everyone if they don't follow the "rules" in this game of sorts.
This is a lot slower paced than expected and also relies on puzzles and tricks verses big fights. Which is what I didn't expect but enjoyed. Also the art is pretty great, and seeing it in full color really helps show the brutality of some of these deaths. If like horror/mystery/adventures you should probably check out Solo Leveling.

3 decent/good stories wrapped up in a Omnibus.
The fist one I reviewed a long time ago. It is the story by Kevin Smith and like I stated there, it is solid and interesting though too wordy at times. It has the makings of a great daredevil story and some moments are wonderful (The Spider-Man moment is perfect) but at same time the villain reveal and why is cliche as hell and the "Everyone has Aids" of the late 80's is back with a vengeance.
The second story about Echo is about the same. Some cool ideas and moments, best when Echo and Daredevil work together or in regular civilian clothing talking to each other. But the Kingpin as the ultimate schemer was already done before and better. And the art had keep flipping back and forth for a weirdo combo.
The last story is "Father" written by Quesada and I was a bit surprised the story wasn't bad. The dialogue between characters, Matt missing his father, and the overall Noir feel of the storytelling were all solid. However the art was pretty shit. I hated the way Daredevil looked, like some jacked up roid raged monster. Way different than any other interpretation and not in a good way. Also the motorcycle villains felt wack.
So yeah the good and bad with this collection. I wanted it mostly to read before I re-read all of Bendis Daredevil run soon. But overall it was decent. A 3 out of 5. I can see why Bendis came on and changed the game for Daredevil.
