Zeb Wells is one of my favorite Marvel writers in the last few years. He wrote some damn good Carnage stories, excellent Daredevil story about his father, he's currently writing Hellions which is amazing, so yeah, I was excited to try this out.

So I was a little let down I didn't love this.

I mean there's some great parts. When Doug returns and does unspeakable things to the team, it is amazing. Some of the banter is really well done for people of this age. The fights can be a lot of fun too and well drawn (except 1 or 2 issues were ugly as sin)

But yeah it felt more average X-Men storylines than I expected. Same anti-mutant military unit. Same one character on the team has evil or different motivations. The return of fucking Legion again. So yeah it felt a little safe for me.

Saying that was still a fun read just nothing special.
