More God-Level Vader fun.

Vader is sent by the emperor to take care of every loose end, that includes the one who built vader himself. So off Vader goes while the other side of the story is hunting down Dr. Aphra by her own evil robots. There's a big battle with Vader and Cylo and it all ends in...well you know it. Vader winning everything.

Again, the art is great here and there's some fun moments. Watching Vader tear through people is entertaining because he's a asshole. Also Dr. Aphra story takes a darker turn than even I expected here. On the flipside, Vader being God-like is really boring in terms of suspense. Just like the rest of the series Vader is too powerful.

Overall a decent series in the end, fun moments, if not a bit boring due to how strong Vader's super saiyan level is. A 3 out of 5.

Ice Cream Man is still going strong with its 4th volume.

This is again, 4 different stories, with very loose connections. From a story about life being a circle, to crossword puzzles, to the raising of a child and loving them unconditionally. This series tends to fall into the depressing area, and these stories are no different. With the Ice Cream Man being in the background in most of these stories we focus on each unique tale.

The first three issues are good. Not great but solid enough. I enjoyed the crossword one the most out of those three. But the 4th story is easily the best story. It's about a father loving his daughter despite her growing up. At first he thinks it's all about her sex life but what it is really about is far far worse. Creepy and sad all in one.

Overall a really solid volume. Not as good as 2 still but as good as 1 and 3. A 3.5 out of 5.

This volume was okay. Short review incoming. The SCAR unit of stormtroopers are badass. Anything with them in this volume worked really well. However, all the stuff with the trinity kind of felt boring and moving from point a to b since we know their faith. Overall another decent at best volume.

Whoa this was really good.

So if seen Blade Runner movies (both are great, I'd say the newer one even better than the original TBH) then you need to check this out. It's the same gritty cyberpunk feel of those movies. We follow a character name Ash as she's trying to solve a mystery of why a mother has taken a child away from her father. Of course as we get deeper into the story things get darker and more fucked up with plenty of twist and turns.

This is a great action/mystery story with a solid self-contained payoff while still leaving it open ended for more. The writer and artist clearly understand each other as they play off each other well without heavy exposition dumps while showing what is happening in this world. The main character is great, as well as the side cast. My only complaint is it felt a little short. Otherwise I loved this. A 4.5 out of 5.

So now it's basically Spider-man: Old Man Logan world.

No seriously, with Ben now on a mission to rescue his father he has to go for help. He meets Riri and then...Tony Stark? But not the Stark we know. It's a weird book now, and while entertaining, and the villain actually hurting our heroes, it's all very messy and moving slow for a 5 issue mini. Not sure where we will go from here. A 2.5 out of 5.

Crazy ending. I think I have to re-read the whole series in one sitting to truly get it all. But there's some amazing moments in this final issue.

This run ends decent enough.

Punisher hunts Zemo in america now, where he is taking sencutary with Kingpin. Punisher is the one guy who doesn't give a shit who is protecting who, he will come for you. The man goes full on ahead but this time he has a team (Somewhat) with Moon knight, black widow, and night trasher joining him. Together they go for one final hunt, but will he get the kill? That's the question.

Overall this is fun enough ending. It's not great, and the art is really hard to keep up with action scenes. I love Zemo, he's such a piece of shit here. And kingpin brings some great lines. But overall nothing amazing. A 3 out of 5.

This was good, but I wish it was a little bit more.

Gage writes the heck out of Spider-man. If haven't played the PS4 game, he wrote that, and it was great. So now it is his chance to write Otto as Superior Spider-man! I personally really enjoyed what I read of Slott's run on the character and was excited to read this. A big bad comes down to earth, looking like a cheap Darkseid knock off, and Otto plans to stop him no matter what. In doing so he must team up with his new lab partner who doesn't like him much and his band of villains turned good (Somewhat).

This volume contains a lot of fighting but it is all pretty entertaining. However, the strongest part of the volume for me was Otto helping others and being a hero, even when injured, easily the best part. The weakest part came from the exhausting amount of dialogue sometimes on a page. Gage did the same in Buffy, and it could get annoying. While some of his dialogue is gold, some is just boring.

Overall, it's a solid fun book but I wanted something more "special" I guess. However, I'll finish up the series as volume 2 ends it! A 3 out of 5.

This was alright.

I guess people saying this is a spiritual successor to Mister Miracle? It basically is a comic version of the #METOO movement. So this might turn people off or on. For me, I was inbetween. I'm 100% behind the movement of #MeToo. I know too many people who suffered and kept things a secret in fear of judgement or repercussions. So I was like "Oh a comic showing off things like that and talking about it might be good" but this comic came off...half baked?

The idea of the Furies here training and becoming ultimate warriors is cool. I even like the idea they are mostly evil and so the worst things they do the more chance of becoming promoted. However, the rest of the story heavily focuses on things like Rape, being used, blackmailing, and more. Now, I think these subjects are important, but they feel in a overabundance here. Like they pile on so much and so quick it feels it is trying TOO hard to tell the message instead of letting the story flow with it. I also thought the art was weird as sometimes it worked well to display characters and other times it was so unfitting to the situation or hard to tell what was happening.

Overall, this is a book about sisters wanting to overturn the people who make them suffer. The idea is great, but the execution is lacking. A 2.5 out of 5.

The family drama-drug related story continues here.

This is a lot of back and forth, learning multiple families, and of course getting down to business on who will take over the drug. This one is all build up but each piece of the puzzle to push the plot forward all begins to come together. While I lack the emotional connection to these characters, I'm really enjoying the world building and overall plot. A nice step up from the last volume.
