Blade Runner 2019: Vol. 1: Los Angeles
by Mike Johnson, Michael Green
Whoa this was really good.
So if seen Blade Runner movies (both are great, I'd say the newer one even better than the original TBH) then you need to check this out. It's the same gritty cyberpunk feel of those movies. We follow a character name Ash as she's trying to solve a mystery of why a mother has taken a child away from her father. Of course as we get deeper into the story things get darker and more fucked up with plenty of twist and turns.
This is a great action/mystery story with a solid self-contained payoff while still leaving it open ended for more. The writer and artist clearly understand each other as they play off each other well without heavy exposition dumps while showing what is happening in this world. The main character is great, as well as the side cast. My only complaint is it felt a little short. Otherwise I loved this. A 4.5 out of 5.
