This was if Superman went bad. We've seen it before. However, this feels....creepy?
In here our main character, Gabriel Cole, gets to be partners with Alpha One. Who's that? Our Superman like character. Goes around and tries to save people as much as possible. When Cole begins to team up we seem them begin to be friends. But every nice scene is followed with how creepy Alpha One can be. More so than Boys or Irredeemable, Alpha One seems even more disturbed and broken and that might be due to the art pushing his odd look.
Overall, good stuff. The dialogue is really solid, art is good, and the pacing is great. Alpha One is scary and Cole is very sympathetic. The marriage angle is new and it actually works well. The only negative is it feels very predictable so far. But I'm eager to get to the 2nd half now! A 3.5 out of 5.

Part of this book I love and the other part...not so much.
So Abbott is a news reporter. She's actually really badass in her approach, similar to characters like Jessica Jones, she takes no shit from anyone. So when she begins reporting things of police brutality she begins to make enemies. However, what is really chasing her? Demons? Half human half creature visions begin to haunt her. Can she escape? Will the demons kill her or will the people in her life try to hurt her more?
It's a dark tale. Some of it I love, mostly the stuff with the newspaper, the police brutality reports, the characters and side cast give a lot of emotion through them. All of that works. The supernatural stuff? The least interesting part. I get the idea behind it and what it represents but I hardly cared about it and the main "villain" is pretty poorly done.
Overall good, interesting, ballsy, but not always working for me. A 3 out of 5.

Vegeto returns!!!
Black Goku is pretty much whooping everyone's ass. When Goku and Vegeta return to their time they both undergo different types of training. Then when they return they go to battle once more. Vegeta has learned a few new tricks but so as goku. But as the battle heads up Goku Black does a cheap little move that puts Vegeta and Goku on the fence. It's time for Fusion once more!
This is a lot of fun. I loved watching goku and vegeta power up to new forms and also fusing once more. The battles are big but also pretty damn fun. Not so much ki blast and big attacks but actual fighting. There's also still the signature humor here. Goku's training though was kind of stupid and I wish they made other character's useful besides Goku and Vegeta.
Overall, fun as heck. Dragon Ball Super is just a lot of fun and hope it remains this way. A 4 out of 5.

This over the top cat story keeps getting weirder.
We now find out who the Calico is and it's NOT who we thought it would be. A secret love affair going down? Big ass fights? World building showing off new cats wanting to take over territories? Oh yes, it's all here, and the series keeps getting freaking weirder.
I still enjoy it though. The switch between cats and humans happens a lot more here and to great effect. Makes the humorous scenes so much better. I also think the fights are better here and show off more cat like features. The ending is cool world building and excited to see where it goes. A 3.5 out of 5. I'll bump it to a 4.

Oh look a solid Supergirl story! Yay!
After reading too many awful Orlando comics I decided to just skip his run. From reviews on here and in general, that seems like a good idea. But I was pretty excited to try this Supergirl run since it's By Marc Andreyko, and his Manhunter I'm reading now is great. So Kara just helped Superman take down one of their biggest threats. Now she's on a mission to find out what happened to her people on a space adventure.
I really enjoyed Kara here. She's still gets pissed quick. But that's because at her age it makes sense. i also love Krypto and Kara. So glad we got a doggie on our adventure. I also like this feels like an adventure through space instead of another boring story for Supergirl to fight another female/over the top male villain. The story itself though isn't amazing. Pretty predictable on the big bad, and we already know Supergirl will save almost everyone so the cliffhanger kind of just there.
Saying that, it's not amazing, but it's good old space fun. Kara is a good lead and I'm hoping this series continues to improve.

Another Dull New52 flash book. I know people are hard on Joshua for his rebirth run but his entire run is much better than almost anything from the New 52 when it comes to flash.
This is just Flash, once again, trying to "fix" his past mistakes. INstead of getting new inseight into Barry and relating to him we are thrown into Future Flash going back to verious moments in his life and "fixing" them as he sees fit. In doing so it alters the future but eventually the future Barry goes back far enough to take care of present day flash by sending him...back in time? Yeah...
It's pretty awful for the most part. Venditti is a solid writer but this is one of his weaker works. The art is good enough but nothing very flashy about it (no pun intended...maybe). The ending is beyond fucking stupid and the reasons the future flash goes back is so overdone I'm sick and tired of it at this point.
Overall a 2 out of 5 at best. But I'm not having it today so a 1.

Jamie leaves and in enters Garth!
The ending to Jamie's run hits some emotional parts but overall it's nothing special. Just like most of his run, it's overly written and boring. He's trying to make our hero go through a spiritual jounary but none of it is interesting. The niece/uncle stuff is by far the best stuff. On the flipside Ennis comes in and creates a powerful story about a very real disease, cancer, and how he'll have to handle it. A trick to the devils? Friends leaving and dying? All the darkness Hellblazer is known for grows here.
As I said the first half of this book is decent enough but nothing really worth talking about. It's the later half of Dangerous Habits arc that really pushes the character into a interesting zone. The supernatural twist, the realistic viewing on dealing with cancer, and the loss of friends all works really well here. The ending is heartbreaking in the best ways.
I sadly can't go full 4 stars since I did love the ending, but the first half of this book is dull for most part. A 3.5 out of 5. We might get a 4 next volume!

Doomsday Clock shows off its master plan as the issue ends. This is the exposition dump I didn't expect but sadly got. We see how the plans of our villain and how he set everyone up plays out. Some of it is a surprise, but most we saw coming. However, there is still some great parts. Mostly the ending where Superman finally arrives on scene. Sadly not as strong as the last few issues but hope the ending pays off. A 3 out of 5.
So I was a little nervous with Scott's new Batman Who Laughs story. I thought Metal was okay and didn't love a lot of his All Star Batman. So I wasn't to eager to get this, especially since The Batman Who Laughs is easily one of the most uninteresting characters in Metal and his defeat was anti-climatic as can be.
This is the story of The Man who Laughs, who recruits another Bruce named Grimbat, and together they tear down the regular universes Bruce. While that's happening we have Jim and his son James working together to stop the psycho known as The Batman who laughs. Part a sequel to Metal, part a sequel to Black Mirror. Will Bruce be able to overcome one of his greatest challenges? A man like him with no remorse or code? You'll have to read to find out!
For the most part I really enjoyed it. For once I liked Alfred here and what he brought to the table. I enjoyed the villains enough, and their plans were pretty cunning. I also thought James and Jim together was brilliant and a nice closure for them. The art was also solid throughout. It did feel a bit stretched out and also some of the lettering, especially for Batman who Laughs is hard as hell to read. Overall though, it was a fun and breezy read and a solid sequel to black mirror. A 3.5 out of 5, but I'll bump it to a 4.

Ninjak remains fun!
So this one has Ninjak and a girl named Punk going into a weird dimension. I think if I read Shadowman I might understand more of this world, but basically it's another universe of some type. Anyway, they head into to save someone but of course nothing goes as planned. Will Ninjak and Punk come out alive or will we lose someone?
It's nothing amazing but it's al ot of fun. Quick paced, solid dialogue, and both Ninjak and Punk are highly entertaining. I also think the art is a step above the regular for Valient here. I think the plotting could be better though. Overall a 3 out of 5. Good stuff.
