This feels like the build up to Kraven's Final hunt mixed in with character development for good old J.J.
So when J.J. has a chance to get his award from Mayor Fisk he is excited. Him and Spidy get caught up in a trap and must escape together. The other issue is Spider-man and Rhino teaming up again against Taskmaster and his buddy. Then we have Peter making a choice to save someone while letting someone else get hurt. It's pretty interesting idea.
It's a bit of filler. Just kind of character development chapters, some funny moments, but nothing BIG happens here. I think it's good at what it's doing but I expected better after the great second volume. A 3 out of 5

Venom unleashed is a super mixed bag.
First two issues are all about Rex and how he got connected to his symbiote. It's a story that includes Wolverine and it works really well since it is during wartime. The next story is about what carnage has been up to and why he becomes a god-like creature. The next story is all about what happened when Venom left brock and it's okay. The last story is...well...it's not very good.
This happens when have multiple writers. Ryan Stegman is an AMAZING artist but his writing here is...eh. Cullen Bunn gives a pretty bad story at the end of the collection too. However, both of Cates one shots are great, and build up his (great) event well. So for that alone it's worth reading. A 3 out of 5.

More world building, different cat/people entertaining the picture, and more funny moments, but nothing special. Still a fun read. A 3 out of 5.
I gave up after third issue. I couldn't finish it was so boring. However, the art is solid so 2 for that. Rest? BORING.
Too crazy, too over the top, and not all that interesting. Another one I dropped a little bit more than half way. It's different, I'll give it that, but the rest? Meh. Sorry for short reviews but I can't be bothered to post full review on something I'm not passionate enough to even hate. It's just eh....2 out of 5.
Daredevil usually never has a bad title and while this one is weaker than some, it's still solid transition chapter for Matt Murdock.
So this takes place between Soule's run and Chips new run. After Matt is hit by a truck he's in rough shape and wondering if he should continue being the hero everyone knows him as. Will he quit? That's the big question.
I really enjoyed some things. The art is solid throughout and the retelling of events is good. I also really enjoyed the Defenders chapter and watching how Matt worked with his friends before and how they didn't give up on him. Also the Kingpin stuff is really solid and shows their relationship well. On the flipside some of this stuff has been done to death with Matt deciding who he wants to be. The whole "Fear no more" storyline has been done a few times. I also thought the last issue was eh...
Overall decent transition and worth it for big Daredevil fans like myself, but Chips run is a hell of a lot better. A 3 out of 5.

Well this was pretty dang good, but that's what I expected.
This deals with the fallout after both Young Justice and The Titans series come to their end. The older titans move on to become outsiders, which I reviewed in another series, and really enjoyed most of it. This deals with mostly the Young Justice kids becoming Teen Titans. Tim, Wonder Girl, Superboy, Impulse (Who becomes kid flash), and Beast boy all join together along with Cyborg and Starfire as their teacher. However, when Deathstroke comes after the new kids who will suffer? That's what this is all about!
The art is solid, a mix of Young Justice and Outsiders style. I dig it. I also enjoyed a lot of the character interaction, especially Superboy and Wonder Girl stuff. Tim as a leader is great too. I like the idea of the two mentors as well. Deathstroke as a villain seems out of character first but once we learn the truth it's interesting. Saying that, it is a bit odd and takes awhile for the gang to get together. It isn't perfect but it's fun. A 4 out of 5.

Green Lantern, Volume 2: The Power of Ion
Brandon Badeaux, Pat Quinn, Dale Eaglesham, Jamal Igle, Judd Winick, Eric Battle
This just solidifies my love for Kyle and he is by far my favorite Green Lantern (Though Jessica is next up!)
So what is the power of Ion? Well, the story here starts simple enough. Kyle and his girlfriend doing daily superhero stuff. Even dealing with life situations like Kyle's assistant coming out to his parents about being gay. But then the story goes into a bigger scope. What if you had the power of a god? To control and protect people, or possibly hurt them? Kyle gains the power of Ion and is able to do pretty much anything. Being at different places at different times. But maybe too much power is not a good thing? How will Kyle react.
I personally enjoy a lot of Winick's writing. It's fast paced and fun. Kyle is a loving guy who always wants to do the right thing. I think I can relate to him in a lot of ways. I also enjoy the romance stuff, the social commentary stuff, pretty much it all. I think there's a little too much dialogue at points and John's story isn't particularity interesting but it works decent enough.
It's not amazing but very strong character development for a character I enjoyed. A 4 out of 5.

I gotta be honest, was a little let down with this one.
The Teen Titans have to work together to try and get Raven back. Can't be teen titans without that girl, huh? Anyway, they go on a mission to bring her back from the clutches of hell. At the same time, Slade has found his daughter and him and Rose decide to take care of Slade's loser brother. In doing so Rose becomes the new Ravager! Will the Titans work well enough to save Raven or will everyone die?
Overall, this was good but not great. I liked the stuff with Tim and Batman. Tim trying to find his way as a leader. All that was great. Most of the interactions were still good, and Bart is funny as ever. I really like the art too, fits the feel of it all. But the main plot with Raven was messy and not all that interesting. I didn't love the big fight, felt stuffed in there, and the ending...was okay. The deathstroke/rose stuff is okay too.
Overall, good, solid, but I guess I expected more. Well, on to the next one! A 3 out of 5.

Check out my individual review of [b:Teen Titans, Vol. 1: A Kid's Game|64005|Teen Titans, Vol. 1 A Kid's Game|Geoff Johns|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1308521021l/64005._SX50_.jpg|62149] and [b:Teen Titans, Vol. 2: Family Lost|100712|Teen Titans, Vol. 2 Family Lost|Geoff Johns|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1314117394l/100712._SY75_.jpg|97108] to get bigger reviews. This is a solid start for Johns "classic" run on the titans. The first half being stronger than the second half. I am hoping though that I enjoy the future volumes tad bit more. This is around a 3.5 out of 5 all together.
