A nice fun crossover with secret six and birds of prey. This is the end of Gail's run so she has alot of fun putting both her series together. I didn't love it but I enjoyed it. A 3 out of 5.
This gorgeous book with interesting world building and a decent story. This was a nice surprise!
It's basically about our main character, Leslie, trying to find love. Well, more in the mood for a werewolf to fuck her hard. Yes. That is the main plot point at the start. See in this world everyone is an animal. Leslie is a pig girl and she is a horny one. Every night she has dreams of a werewolf fucking her brains out. Every day she wakes up disappointed. However, In this world animals are not allowed to get with other animals. The must stick with their own. So it starts as a love story almost but by the end killings start happening and the story takes a dark turn.
Enjoyable dialogue with fun characters, great art, and some good turns. Felt a tad bit rushed at points and sometimes a little sex fan service but for most part I was enjoying alot of it. A 4 out of 5.

Sucks so much this got canceled. This was really fun and reminded me of x-factor in a lot of ways.
See we got Scott's brother back in action. However, due to past actions. Nobody trust Alex much. He decides to screw it and form a new xmen team. However, as the story rolls out, we find out maybe Alex isn't telling the truth of why he needs a team of X-men.
Alot of funny moments here. Rosenberg has a knack for giving great one liners and reaction shots to characters. Not only did I laugh alot but wanted to know how this team could actually work together. By the end I wanted more. The art at times struggled and the bad guys were eh, but the rest worked well. A 3.5 out of 5. I'll bump it to a 4.

Young Justice (2019-) #3
Viktor Bogdanovic, Brian Michael Bendis, Patrick Gleason, Evan Doc Shaner, Alejandro Sánchez
A connor Kent issue. Get a little of his past, where he went, and a big twist on the character by the ene. The way the story is told is kind of confusing and each issue focusing on one character mostly makes pacing suffer a bit. However, the great art and interesting twist on the Kent family member is pretty interesting. A 3 out of 5.

Things are heating up now that the whole crew is back together. Not gonna go to indepth here since I will on the trade once issue 5 comes out but so far this is shaping up to be what teen titans should have been. Pure fun!
This was okayish.
I like the idea. The mutants are getting the shit end of the deal by Norman's new Dark Reign deal. Cyclops decides to push a new plan that'll change everything. However, he needs to have all the players in place. This won't be so easy but Emma forms the Dark X-Men, while Wolverine takes his X-Force to new places, to all come to a big reveal and conclusion.
The thing is the main Utopia story is pretty solid. It's interesting with good twist and solid art. It would rank around a 3 out of 5. However, this overstuffed collection has a few side stories after Utopia but they feel so out of place AFTER reading the main event you can't help but question why they are in here.
So it's around a 2.5 out of 5 for the collection.

Mayor Fisk is out of commission so that leaves Matt Murdock as mayor of New York City!
This is basically one big fight scene throughout these 5 issues. We have the hand coming into NYC to take it over but also kill Blindspot. It's actually pretty big takeover as the hand first goes after Fisk but then tries to kill any cops or law enforcement who are stopping them. This leads Matt to deal with being the Mayor of New York but also being Daredevil and stopping them.
I felt like this was the first "Go wild and fun" chapter in Soule's run. I've enjoyed the majority of the run but this one is bonkers. The take over of new york is both fun and over the top. Matt seems more fun in this one for some reason. I also enjoyed all the fight scenes, there's some amazing action set pieces. The ending also sets up some nice plot points.
Wasn't too big of a fan of the "out of nowhere fighters" coming in towards middle half. That seemed a bit weird and the ending of the bad guys was lolz over the top but kind of too silly.
Overall though still really fun. Not the best volume but I enjoyed reading through it a lot. A 3.5 out of 5.

All right! We back to quality good shit.
Simon and Jessica now go to the main planet of Green Lanterns and must prove themselves as true green lantern warriors. Guy gets to train Jessica, while Kyle trains Simon. This is both fun and exciting as it teaches them both to grow into stronger and better warriors. Then the last two issues is crazy as the "first one" reveals himself and he's not some push over. He's the real deal. Are Jessica and Simon truly screwed now?
This is a lot of fun. Watching our two rookies learn to fight is wonderful. Character growth comes easy with Humphries at the wheel as he makes both go through very different trials. We also get some great cliffhanger moments here as the next chapter is going to be a blast. The art is a little wobbly at times, the change to the facial expressions is odd. Also some of the past storylines of the first 7 were kind of eh.
Overall though, a nice return to form back to volume 2. A 4 out of 5 for this one.

This volume felt disjointed. I'm wondering if they kicked off Charles Soule earlier than he expected.
The first half deals with Mike Murdock. Oh, never heard of him? Don't worry...me either. I never did but the book does a great job of explaining it within a couple of pages. But Mike Murdock was just Matt making believe he was someone else. How is he REAL!? The 2nd half is dealing with taking down Mayor Fisk after Matt was hit by a truck. It's...different.
Overall, this came as a tad bit disappointing. I enjoyed some of it a lot. The stuff with Mike Murdock was actually pretty funny. But the 2nd half feels rushed and weird throughout. I get the idea behind it and the big reveal, but it didn't land that well. Don't get me wrong, the art is great, and I do love the final 5 or 6 pages, but the rest? It was okay.
A 3 out of 5. Sadly not going out in a bang but Soule run was overall pretty fun. On to Chip!

Whoa, how have I never heard of this before a couple of weeks ago?
This is a story of Matt Murdock's father's last night alive. The 4 issues are the four rounds he goes before he wins the infamous fight which leads to his death. Each round he reflects about his life even before Matt is in it. You seem him grow from a pathetic henchman who beats people up for the Fixer, to him trying to get clean from alcohol to box once more, to trying his best to be a father. An abusive, drunken, loser to be frank but his life wasn't for nothing as he helps mold Matt into being one of the best heroes ever.
This is a darker look into the past of a man I knew about but never really cared about. This made me feel for him. I wasn't always on his side. He did terrible things, including beating up people for a gangster as well as slap his son around because he was too drunk and prideful. However, watching him push forward was so intriguing I couldn't stop reading. The end result made me super sad but also hopeful.
The only negative would be Matt's age and such. It's been awhile since read daredevil's older comics but watching him much older when his father dies, even starting to be a hero, felt odd. That's the only negative.
The rest I loved. This is a easy 4.5 but I'll bump it to a 5 because it was such a nice surprise.
