I dunno why I skipped this on my All New X-Men/Uncanny X-Men reading run but now that I read it, do we get something worth reading in this mini-event? Well...
The future X-men come back to the modern day X-Men to warn them the past X-men will cause huge issues being in the modern day time period. Confused yet? YOU SHOULD BE. So now the Past X-men are running away from both the Future X-Men and Modern Day X-men but not all the modern day X-men are agreeing with the rest of the modern day X-men and friendships and trust will be tested here!
Good: I really enjoy some moments with our favorite x-men and different time period. I liked Ice Man's parts a lot with his different selves. The art work ranged from good to great so not complaints there. A huge storyline but easy enough to follow.
Bad: The dialogue sometimes could be pretty bad. Especially with a lot of characters acting, well, out of character. I didn't understand the motive of the future selves much.
Overall a decent mini-event. I've read way worse so this is good enough I enjoyed my time reading it. A 3 out of 5.

This wasn't as good as issue 1 for me.
This issue mostly focuses on Harley and Booster Gold. They are both unstable, both talking a lot about what they did or didn't do, what they might do, and more. Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman decide to find out who did this. They go to Harley first but obviously that doesn't go to well. Booster Golde visits Flash and of course that doesn't go well. Then you find out these interviews, or tapes, are now out in the world from the sanctuary.
Good: I really did enjoy some of it. Flash's reaction is fucking great. One of my favorite panels is him running away and coming back a second later. I also enjoyed the idea of having the tapes of these heroes out in the public. My favorite moment would probably be Harley playing cards with a penguin because it's funny. Art is still great.
Bad: The trinity getting beat by Harley is way over the top and even I couldn't believe it. The story feels like it progressed very little in this volume. There's no new questions or ideas of who the killer was.
Overall it's a solid issue but I wanted more. This is good but feels like a bridge issue. A 3 out of 5.

Not going to rate it star wise. I only got to issue 5. It's not bad but heavy, and I kind of got super bored. I feel bad for not continuing to give it a fair chance but just not that interested. For now I'll keep it at a no-rating till one day I finish it.
The more I read about Hope the more I like her. A Badass teenager who has to carry the entire mutant future on her back? How can you not be interested.
This volume is mostly a huge fight. Hope has gather the future mutants, the "lights", as she calls it. Once gathering them one of them transforms to a Godzilla like monster. Together they band together, with the X-Men as well, to stop him. The last issue is really about Hope building her band of fighters and going on the search to find more mutants.
Good: Hope is still badass, as always. She takes no shit from anyone, raised by cable to survive, she does just that. The band of "lights" is pretty cool. Each very different, and all young, so get new mutants type vibe there. I also thought the end built up for, hopefully, and exciting future for this series.
Bad: The big fight to bring everyone together has been done so many times can't help feel a little bored. Also, the art isn't the best. Not bad but just kind of blend.
Overall it's pretty solid fun. If like Hope this comic worth reading for that alone. It could be better plotting and art but it's pretty fun regardless. A 3 out of 5.

Dramatic step down from the first volume.
Basically the story revolves around Lady Deathstrike and her new band of killers and evil pieces of shit. So now it's all about the new group of all women X-Men taking them down. We also get a little bit of a look at the younger generation dealing with their own issues.
Good: I really liked Jublie in here. She's both funny and great.
Bad: The rest is just standard plotting and boring character interactions.
Overall just okay across the board. Nothing horrible but nothing worth mentioning. A 2 out of 5.

For years I was told I had to read Warren Ellis Extremis for Iron-man. It was always totted as the "best" Iron-man story or least top 5-10. So is it? Well...
Tony is feeling a little sorry for himself here. Actually, he does a interview where the guy starts hitting Tony with some tough questions. Tony has just spent the last few weeks in his garage building new suits and, well like I said, feeling very sorry for himself. After the interview he decides to change, to do something about his life, but that's when an experiment has gone wrong. Someone has injected themselves with the Extremis virus type thing. With that he begins going on a rampage in which only Tony can stop him.
Good: The art is pretty great. Some truly epic shots, and great fight scenes, bring scope and gritty moments all in one. The pacing is frantic, to match the overall mindset of Tony himself. A man who has done a lot wrong but trying to fix his past mistakes. I enjoyed that and I also liked the villain as he was chilling, and strong.
Bad: A bit rushed if you ask me. After one major showdown Tony is injected with the virus himself to combat the villain. It all happened far to quick. Also, the retelling of his origins was not needed...at all. The twist too was easy to see coming.
Overall, it's a solid story. Probably better than the norm. While it's not up to par with some of Warren's best, it's still worth reading, especially if Iron-man fan. A 3.5 out of 5.

Whoa talk about a upgrade. While I thought volume 1 was good it lacked solid plotting and artworked was a bit eh. Here? Well damn.
A guy is going around hurting people who have been hurt. So say you were raped, he decides to punish you more, to see if you can truly survive. It's some weird shit but it makes for a compelling villain. Violet sets herself up in a trap to lure him out. On top of that the 2nd half we get some of her past and actually a very creepy villain once again.
Good: I love the first arc. It's pure bait and fight issue. It shows the steps violet will take to take down the villains of Gotham. She just goes by it a different way than our batman. The villain is interesting, the story is, and the dialogue is pretty strong. I also thought the 2nd arc was interesting, getting violet's past is good, and by the end was interested to see where this will go.
Bad: The art on the 2nd half is kind of eh...sometimes decent, sometimes not so good. Hard to tell what the fuck is happening at points or who is who.
A huge step up from volume 1. While 1 was decent, this is great. I want more. 4 out of 5.

Donny Cates is hands down one of the best writers out right now. Between Babyteeth, Redneck, Thanos, and (from what I hear) venom, this guy is on FIRE. Can he fix the Inhumans? Make them really interesting? Well...
This is the story of Vox. He's on a mission to kill all Inhumans. This 5 issue mini-series really focuses on the burden of our King. Black Bolt is going through a lot and when Vox begins to hunt down his people the King tries to stand up for himself. Right off the bat Vox comes in as a threat, leaving a message, and a first strike that our heroes don't see coming. Will they be able to stop this creature?
Good: There's some great moments. One of Black Bolt breaking through the ranks of the Krell. Also a shocking moment of a near death experience. I also thought the ending, while tad anti-climatic, had a pretty dark turn.
Bad: The art...sorry...I just do not like at all. It feels static a lot of the time and the fights come off kind of blah. I also thought the plotting, while decent, didn't really do much knew. It almost played it a tad safe. I didn't care about the deaths in here because, well, the ones who die aren't major characters we really know.
Overall this is meh. I had very very high expectations after Cates other work. It's mostly the art that ruins it for me. If the art was better I can push it to a 3 but I can't go past a 2.5 on this one.

My 500th book!!!! I BEAT MY GOAL!!!!!!!
I actually wanted to pick a 500th book that I almost knew for sure I'd love! I go into my Nerd Cave this morning and look around at my 100+ graphic novel collection (I know. Good thing I married BEFORE I started really collecting) and finally decide on Ex Machina. It's one of the only Brian K. Vaughan titles I haven't finished and he is my favorite author of all time. SO here we go, volume 3!
Hundred is dealing with a few issues in this book. First up is legalization of weed. How the laws and how his old crime fighting days effected someone who was just selling some weed. It's really cool to see how they connect. Next up is a guy going around making people believe there is a fire in their building and attacks them. This causes the city to panic. If that's not bad enough the next part is all about a blackout of the entire city, and this time it's not Hundred doing it.
Good: I really loved all the past stuff in this volume. We get a nice look into Hundred when he first gets his powers and decides to do good. We see one of his chase missions. One of the best moments is watching him on 9/11 and how he saved the 2nd plane. I also enjoyed the villains in here, well the firefighter liar. The other one, not sure if you'd call him a villain, makes for a interesting set up for the future.
Bad: I thought Bradford's story here wasn't as strong as I had hope. His background is just okay.
Overall, Ex Machina remains strong. It's not a 5 star like volume 1 and 2, but still great, and a easy 4 star.

Justice has been a surprise hit for me but does it finish strong?
This is it. The villains are out in full force, but so are the heroes. After the build up of all the heroes getting their asses handed to them it's their turn to fight back. Huge world battles all around. Multiple heroes facing off against multiple villains. It's almost as if the writer and artist had all these toys and started placing them in a bin and playing with them with pows and kicks and so on.
Good: There's some great moments. One really great moment is with Billy facing off against his friends and shows how much of a hero he is. There's also some epic fights, because of how huge they are, they are entertaining.
Bad: The storyline is basically "EVERYONE FIGHT" and that's it. All the planning and scheming is thrown out the window for the fighting. The ending felt safe compared to the rest.
Overall still a good volume but not nearly as captivating as volume 1-2. Either way the series is worth checking out but this one is around a 3 out of 5.
