This is the final fight for survival of both the future and the current time for the rangers!
This is basically a back and forth between the future where Tommy and Billy are located. They are trying their best to save the future and fight against the evil Tommy. On the current time Rita is sending a bunch of copies of her little clay monster to kill the Rangers but of course, together, they won't let that happen. The war rages and there will be only one who comes out alive!
Good: The fights are as always entertaining. I also really enjoyed the ending and it feels like the first big arc ends here. They even made you feel good about the future selfs and care about them and it's only been a volume and a half.
Bad: There's a recap issue that's kind of pointless for me. Also, there's not enough time for the rangers to just be together or hang out, which is missing here.
Overall a pretty solid ending to the first major arc. I'm hoping it builds up to something even bigger next arc but so far, solid ending! A 3 out of 5.

So this was a half and half type of story.
The story is basically someone blowing shit up. We don't know who, or why, until later, but the mission is to cause havoc. Dick as Batman decides to go investigate with his team of Damien, Tim, and my favorite Bat-family member, Cassandra! On their investigation they work on discovering who is behind these terrible things while we get the backstory of the villain here and why he's trying to destroy the city after being betrayed.
Good: The art is pretty solid throughout though it does dip at times. I also thought the interactions between the heroes is great. Damien with his quick wit and assholish comments make it a ton of fun. Watching the Bat-family work together was also a blast. The ending was satisfying and all in all anything to do with the Bat-family worked.
Bad: The other side of this is a past of a villain and how he was wronged, which isn't new, but this is also really boring as well. While the story is by two writers, the dialog is written by Kyle Higgins, but it doesn't really captivate you. It's weird since I'm loving his power rangers.
Overall this was a okayish Batman story. As much as I love Dick as Batman, this one wasn't all that memorable. Still okay to check out, it's not bad, but I read better. A 2.5 out of 5.

This is a meaty comic that makes you think about a lot while reading it.
When the population of the world is shrinking due to a virus, one person figures out a cure. Everyone stops dying and we can begin to grow again! But then when the first woman gives birth it's...a creature of some sort coming out. We will come to call them Numans. This story starts off with the cure, part 2 is about the rebellion of the new race of people, and then the utopia, if you can call it that, and what's happening.
Good: I love the idea behind this. It's both horrific and understandable all at once. The three part series actually works in jumps of time and doesn't feel badly done. I also enjoyed the end of each chapter as it gives a nice "what happens now?"
Bad: I wish we had more time in each era. Maybe 50 pages in each to really get it all. Also, this is a lot of exposition verses dialog or natural talking. It can be a bit much at times.
Overall it's a solid, interesting, and somewhat depressing look at the world. When you fix one thing, another terrible thing grows, and is there ever really a cure for that? A 3.5 out of 5.

This was pretty fun little chase comic.
Cable jumps to a time period he finds somewhat safe and decides to get some food. Little hope attached to his chest they are trying to survive. Bishop, that crazy fucker, comes straight for the child trying to kill her. Cable is on the run throughout this whole volume, trying to get away from the crazy Bishop. However, at the end, he decides to not run anymore. This becomes a showdown!
Good: The actual internal thoughts of Bishop and Cable is pretty great. It's kind of like seeing the same story in two very different viewpoints, yet it somehow works. Cable is a fun dad-like character and he works well with hope being the baby. Bishop is also a entertaining villain.
Bad: The art is really odd at times. Sometimes looking great, sometimes the fights look terrible. I also think some of bishop dialog is awful.
Overall this is a fun little series. I wanted to read this series after Messiah Complex and I'm not too dissapointed. A fun little action romp. A 3 out of 5.

A very interesting graphic novel for someone who doesn't really believe in religion anymore.
So Judas is about what happens after Judas is sent to hell after he hangs himself. He's traveling the land of the underworld when Satan himself decides to have a little chit-chat. Trying to convince Judas that Jesus knew the betrayal would happen and that he was used for the story to be made. Judas listens, and like any person, feels betrayed. The twist is Jesus is sent to hell himself, and it brings some very interesting themes and thoughts.
Good: I really loved the art here. It was both haunting and beautiful. The twist was implemented really well. I like the themes spoken here, and even if you don't have a religion, you can appreciate what it's going for. The ending is both uplifting and still gives a sense of sadness.
Bad: Might be a tad confusing if you weren't raised with religion or know anything about Jesus since it's heavy in the lore.
Overall, a very nice surprise. Jeff Loveness is one of my favorite writers in comics who doesn't really write much. While this didn't blow me away it was really well created. A 4 out of 5.

Damn man back in the day X-Men events were fucking great!
So Hope decides it's time to head back to the main timeline. Cable agrees and off they go. Of course when they arrive it all goes to hell. The first half of this book actually feels very similar to Messiah Complex where we have ton of people chasing other people. This time though once things calm down for a moment and Hope is now with the X-Men after losing some big members, the real danger shows up. This becomes a darker more fucked up event than expected and really shows the complexity of the X-men as a race and how they are working together to survive.
Good: Really loved the pacing of this. Each and every issue goes into each other really well. It never feels like a slow part because it's all damn exciting. The art ranges from good (at worst) to GREAT. The teams in here all clash well from the Uncanny team to X-Force, to the new mutants. The deaths stick and work really well here. The fights are epic, and truly show the X-Men grittiness at times. Oh and the ending sets up the future series well.
Bad: I thought it might been a bit overstuffed at times, things like having Xavier coming in and Legion and such.
Overall this was great. A very compelling and entertaining ending to the trilogy of x-men events (Messiah Complex-Messiah War-Second Coming) and a easy 4.5 out of 5.

Wow it's as if the time skip helped push this series into a more mature area, one I can actually really enjoy. While the previous 6 volumes were good they were missing something. This, this deals deeper with social issues with people who can't fit in but want to.
Our main hero has left behind the panties world. What's that mean? In the last few volumes our main character, Takao, is trying to life a normal new life. He becomes mostly a ghost. Sure, hanging out with people, but always in the back, and saying very little. This is all till he meets Tokiwa. A inspiring writer who he begins to fall for. Of course, it's not all that simple, when old faces come back into Takao's life.
Good: This is a more mature book for me than previous volumes. The relationship issues, falling in love, the awkwardness of people and teenagers, and trying to fit in, but never really doing it, is all interesting. I also thought the ending really works well as it gives us something to look forward to in terms of Takao becoming his own person.
Bad: The family stuff seems like background. Like the mom-dad issue should have been talked or shown more to give us more emotional connection with them.
Overall it's really good. Like, this volume made me really want the next one. This is a super easy 4 out of 5 and hoping the complete volume 4 and 5 will finish this off well!

Why do I do this to myself? Why do I read these right before bed? To have nightmares? To make me cry? To hurt my soul? WHY!?
So this picks up right after volume 8. Our favorite band of fugitives is still on the run but this time the bounty has made the very vicious squid looking lady who's been torturing the Will to come to the planet where Marko, Alina, and the rest have landed. What starts out as a family bonding volume quickly changes to a cat and mouse game, high stakes, and a lot of death. Should I have expected anything less? And now a year wait? Fuck me...
Good: Everything. Without spoilers...the deaths are impactful (come on, you know there's going to be deaths) the art is always stunning, the emotional family bits are amazing, the dialog is on point, and...it brings an emotion I don't get from most things. Just wonderfully done.
Bad: Nothing.
Saga remains the BEST comic series out right now. While Deadly Class is my favorite action series, Saga hits emotions for me like no other. A 6 out of 5.

So my wife and I are doing our Halloween marathon before, well, Halloween. And we're having a blast going through all the good old horror movies. Friday the 13th is coming up so I decided to check out the few horror comics based off the movies I could find.
Jason is on the hunt again. After a group of dumbass teenagers go into the woods to, you guessed it, have sex and smoke weed, Jason is ready to slaughter. He makes his way through each character by slashing and dashing, leaving very little in his wake. The main girl actually has some decent survival skills and does plan to survive this as any main character who's a girl who's naked more often than not would do in a horror situation.
Good: The kills. That's really it. Some of super brutal and fucked up. Jason chops arms off, legs off, cuts heads in half, and more. They're brutal and really what you came for. Oh and boobs, lots and lots of boobs and some butt.
Bad: The dialogue is pretty awful, the story is run of the mil shit, and of course the ending makes no goddamn sense but they never do.
Overall this is worth reading only if you're a die-hard Jason fan (Like myself) you'll have fun with the kills. The rest? Not so much. A 2 out of 5.

This is better written for sure than last few volumes but still a messy volume.
Right off the bat, after the first issue, we're thrown into the "New Krypton" storyline. It's actually pretty decent crossover, and the ones talking about Supergirl are half way decent. Especially when her father is murdered since it leads to a lot of internal problems even after the event. However, it's jumpy, and if haven't read that storyline, you'll be like "What the fuck?" After getting past that it's Superwoman storyline. This is about a new character who is going around helping Supergirl, or is she really?
Good: The superwoman storyline did its job. It's easy twist but it works well enough and some of the fights are brutal and great. A lot of deaths here, and they don't hold back, and the ending sets up some cool things to come.
Bad: The crossover is really out of place, not fully told, and confusing. Also, the storylines, while solid, aren't going to blow your mind.
Overall a better gathering of stories than the last few volumes but overall this could still be a better collection. A 2.5-3 out of 5.
