This issue's main focus was on Rorschach, Reggie, not Walter. We learn why he takes the mask of the dead superhero and what his mission was. He was all part of the attack on New York so it makes a bit more sense now why he's gone fucking insane. Then on top of that we get why he's working with Oz, which is actually pretty reasonable when think of it. Overall this issue is solid, interesting look, at a broken man. A step up from the last issue, a 3.5 out of 5.
Doomsday Clock is a slow ticking time bomb. You know shits going to explode but you're waiting for it. This volume, things happen, some really cool stuff, but also feels really disjointed. The opening is great. Learning the truth about Oz. The ending is great. Watching the people who are protesting Batman get ahold of him. Also, the Mime and Marionette finally meet up with Joker for some intense fucked up bloody gory action. The action and scenes jump a lot making it a bit confusing to keep up and you feel it's all set up. A solid issue but didn't blow me away. 3 out of 5.
Whoa, this issue came out of nowhere and really impressed me. This might be my favorite issue so far.
Mime and Marionette get their backstory in this one. I was really impressed with it as I actually got some emotion from their backgrounds. Up until now I found them a little over the top and too "joker" style but here I found out why and when they became who they were and it made sense. Far more realistic way of becoming killers in this world than the comic world. Also, the plot moves forward as we have some major characters pushing the narrative, mostly our best friend the Comedian doing his murdering thing. I like the contrast between the villains in the DC Universe and Watchmen and how much more brutal and effective the killing is from the Watchmen characters. Overall, a easy 4.5 out of 5.

This is another really strong issue. We finally get to see our big blue friend pop up too! When everything is about to go down, including Batman facing off against Joker, then the two lovers dressed in clown makeup, to see blue pop up and tell us what's happening it's great. We get a lot of reveal, and yet very little at the same time. It pushes certain characters in new direction that'll result in some very interesting moments. While a little to heavy exposition at times it seems to work for the most part. A 4 out of 5.
This is a pretty big ass volume! But it works because it's actually a pretty important one.
So we find out poor Mia has aids. It's not a huge twist or anything, it's part of the actual story. Before dealing with that though we have a new player in town. His name is Brick and he's a nasty piece of shit, but not as stupid as the general scum around the city. He plans it all out, even setting up a plan that Green Arrow has trouble dealing with. On top of that we also deal with the return of Daken, the master warrior, after he finds Roy Harper, the old speedy.
Good: The issues dealing with Mia and her coming out as a person LIVING with HIV is pretty powerful and strong stuff. People react and talk to her in a realistic way instead of this feeling like a after school special on safe sex. I also thought they didn't try to make it over the top and worked well to give Mia even more character development. Brick is a cool villain too and him outmanuvering Oliver and co was great. Also the one on one fight was a blast.
Bad: The last few issues kind of feel rushed and not that interesting. There's moments, especially with the Riddler.
Overall a great volume and Judd Winick is easily becoming one of my favorite DC writers. I want to read more and more from him! A 4 out of 5.

This was a rather messy and not very fun volume.
Buffy and the gang head over to where Oz and his wife and Baby are. Magic gets sucked away from Willow and the Slayers now must face Twlight and his goons till they all die! It's a big battle to the death but who will come out victorious?
Good: There's a fun little issue that's throwback to the show where we get to see Andrew do his interviews with everyone and that issue is a lot of fun.
Bad: The rest is messy, it's not funny, the stuff with Oz couldn't be more boring, and I didn't really care about the epic battle. Also, the art looked really ugly here and it's really starting to become harder and harder to tell who is who.
Overall, I wanted to like this, but I didn't much. Besides the one issue and a few cool moments, this was pretty meh. A 2 out of 5.

Friday The 13th: Book Two
Joshua Hale Fialkov, Jason Aaron, Andy B., Marc Andreyko, Mike Huddleston, Shawn Moll, Adam Archer, Ron Marz
So another dud for my Halloween horror read!
This is a few different stories. One is the origins of Jason's mother. Then we have a story of a woman who's been abused over and over again, fucking loses it, and then meets Jason who she thinks she has a lot in common with. Till he tries to kill her. Then we have a story of the past and current of a cabin in crystal lake. One about a woman getting raped by a bunch of guys and then her husband comes back, is shot, and then kills them all. The other is about two guys and a girl on vacation and she is sleeping with one of them and then Jason comes upon them. Last story is about a boy going to sleep away camp. He has a similar face of Jason and so when Jason kills people he doesn't kill him since he is reminded of who he is.
Good: The last story is the best story. It's super fun to watch Jason protect a kid because he's like him, and murders EVERYBODY in his way.
Bad: The rest is terrible.
Overall a shitty pack of stories with the exception of Jason Aaron's story which is really fun. A 1.5 out of 5.

Okay so here we go. Another Thor first volume. This time I went back, past Jason Aaron to J. Michael Stacynski run and...well it's actually pretty fun!
Thor has returned to earth after being in the void for so long. His human like vessle (I'm a bit confused by this Blake stuff myself. Sorry, not big into Thor) and so he returns. However, coming back to earth he sees that Asgard is no more and all his people are gone. So he slowly begins to awaken his friends in various places around the world to bring them back and restore Asgard. On top of that Tony decides to pay his buddy a visit but this is after Civil War. Yes, the same Civil War Thor build a robot like Thor to kill people. Yeah...shit is about to go down.
Good: The thor vs iron-man issue, or should say, Thor smacking Iron-man down issue, is great. Pure emotion, awesome effects, epic as fuck, and Thor comes across as a mighty god. I also enjoyed him picking up the pieces of his life and trying to restore it all.
Bad: The ending was kind of getting boring (Until last two pages) and Loki coming back as a woman, while cool, was kind of just why? Like, we know Loki will betray again so why the fuck does Thor keep trying him?
Overall this is a really solid volume. It didn't blow me away or anything but I had a lot of fun reading it and will give the rest of this run a read for sure. A 3.5 out of 5.

This was pretty decent. I wish Teen Titans blew me away but this was good. I really do got to go back and try out Johns run.
ANYWAY this starts off with Damien trying to work better with the team. It's fun, cheerful, good old times. Then the event came in and Flash is kicked out of the group for saving Deathstroke. So now the group is at a loss, missing a key member, so Aqualad (Before he gets his name) wants to join the team. Damien takes him under his wing and they begin to train when Black Manta comes to get what he believes is owed to him.
Good: The art is solid enough. Some really cool fight scenes too for that. Black Manta is still pretty cool villain. I also think Damien trying to become a team leader but unable to at the moment is pretty interesting. Aqualad's power is cool too.
Bad: Aqualad's name is fucking stupid. I also disliked how the vent shifted this book completely and made the dynamic change. Luckily I read Lazarus's contract (Or unlucky because it kind of sucked) but you'd be lost here.
Overall it's a pretty decent, fun, teen titans book. Nothing amazing but the dynamic of the team works good enough. A 2.5-3 out of 5.

Birds of Prey, Vol. 4: Sensei and Student
Mike Manley, Gail Simone, Ruy Jose, Scott Hanna, Joe Bennett, Ed Benes, Michael Golden, Alex Lei, Cliff Richards
This was fun but not as good as I hoped.
This time we have the birds kind of going through different things that all come together by the end. We have Black Canary dealing with a evil poison queen and also trying to figure out if she wants to join forces with one of the greatest assassins ever. Then we have Oracle getting kidnapped and put on trial for being Oracle but it doesn't go well that way. Last one is huntress trying to find her place and help Oracle.
Good: The dynamic when there, especially last issue, is really good. Dialog is still solid too, everyone sounds and feel reals. The fights are pretty fun and put the characters in dire situations.
Bad: The story felt like it dragged a bit. I was starting to get boring around half way through with the pacing. Also, the art doesn't always match the tone of the story.
Overall a decent story, and cool character moments, but bland story and art hurt it. So a 3 out of 5.
