So this was pretty fucked up, depressing, and I couldn't put it down.
So what's a Ikigami? It's a letter you receive when it's your time to die. Pretty screwed up, huh? So when you're a child you are injected with a capsule that'll kill you if the government so chooses it. Why do they do this? To keep people proactive in life. To try and achieve great things. With the looming feeling of death coming you are pushed to do better. Don't worry though, your death isn't meaningless. If you do get picked to die your family will be well compensated as long as you don't go on doing something stupid in your last 24 hours of life. You know, like murder or rape.
Good: I really enjoyed the first story despite it's dark outlook on things. Basically the first guy chosen to die had a shitty childhood. Beaten and tortured as a kid in high school he decides when he has 24 hours left to take revenge. He goes on to (I believe) rape one of the girls who humiliated him in HS and then nearly kill another and ruin his entire career. It's fucked up but realistic. The other story is about two guys who were growing up together to become great musicians. Sadly, everything goes wrong and they break apart. Then one day one is chosen to die, this is also a interesting idea.
Bad: The art sometimes makes it hard to tell who is who. I kept getting confused on two characters. I also thought the 2nd story was a little too slow at times.
Overall this was really interesting, screwed up, yet I kept wanting to read it. I'm going to go with a really solid 4 out of 5. I thought it was great!

Dan slott still delivers on, what will probably, be my favorite run of Spider-man in awhile.
Dr. Ock is still in control. Still doing the hero thing even with his more brutal ways. After killing Massacure the avengers try to take him in to make sure he really is Spider-man. Once he passes he notices something is off. Then it's time for him to go inside his OWN mind and take out Peter Parker who has been inside him trying to fight. This brings us to a major turning point, one you might not expect.
Good: The art is still great. The pacing and storyline are interesting. The intent to push Peter forward and give him objectives and be successful in life is a nice change of pace. I also loved the fights for they are more vicious and really feel like a different spider-man.
Bad: It's still a little filled with bad dialog here and there.
Overall this is easily Dan's best Spider-man story. I hope it continues to be as good as it is because I'll keep on reading! A 4 out of 5.

Sandman feels like a heavy read. Sometimes when I see writers come from novels to comics I just don't think they get it. However, Neil Gaiman somehow crosses that line with ease, not too wordy, yet wordy enough to get me hooked.
Doll's House is a very different beast than the last story. This is one big continuous storyline. Rose walker is the hero of this story. She is able to see things others can't in dream world. On top of that though she is also on the search for her little brother who she was separated from 7 years prior. This leads us to multiple storylines all eventually connecting. We also get a short story in here about a man who escapes death thanks to Sandman and his sister deciding to let him live through hundreds of years.
Good: The art is pretty amazing. Filled with darkness, heart, and soul, it's all there. I also really enjoyed the Doll's House storyline for the most part. It starts off simple enough but the complexity keeps coming and by the end, when we end up in a killer convention, it all comes to something amazing and sad. Also love the cliffhanger. I also thought the short story here was well done and shows life can really be what you make it.
Bad: Sometimes the start got me a little bored. A lot of build up, some stuff in the end not paying off tbh, but that's about it.
Overall this was fantastic once more. A 4.5 easy and the 2nd half near flawless for me. I really am glad to finally check out this kickass series.

I read most of these when they came out but the Wild Hunt came out so much later I didn't get to it. Now to rate them all together?
If want a bigger review on each chapter of the Dark Knights can read my single reviews. Basically these are the origin stories of the evil Batman. We get to find out why Bruce from that Dimension went fucking insane and usually became a killer. Then we get the wildhunt to tie it all up. When we see the final battle about to be all done who will win? And who is the chimp who might save the day?
Good: The dark knights story all vary. Some weaker ones but for the most part there's 5 good-great stories here. The highlights being Red Death and of course Barbatos (joker/Batman mix) and sets up how vicious these bastards could be. All hypes you up for them invading the normal universe.
Bad: The Wild Hunt was a letdown. It was long, kind of boring, and not really all that interesting. I was confused and I'm currently reading Metal to NOT be, but damn...too much shit going on.
Overall it's around a 3.5 for the collecting. Not amazing, but still pretty solid. For the individual stories alone it's worth checking out. A 3.5 out of 5.

The Guardians are BACK!
Actually, to be honest, I think Guardians is one series I like more in movie form than comic. Least up until now. I got my hands on Gerry Duggan new, short run, and my thoughts are...FUN!
So Starlord and the gang are stealing shit. Like, do you expect them to be doing much else? As they are someone is interfering with them at the same time. This zanny adventure mostly has the group on the run from the grandmasters and other baddies who hold treasure. By the end we're building up a story for Gomora, Groot, and much more. This is basically one big rush of an adventure and somehow it works.
Good: The humor is really solid. Fun and goofy but not too over the top. I also like how the chemistry all flows really well. The art is fantastic, exciting, and colorful. The groot storyline is one of the more interesting ones and I can't wait to find out what's happening with...well I can't spoil it!
Bad: This can be a tad confusing at times where everyone is. Some stuff really needs to be explained a little better, not the best jumping on point.
Overall this is a ton of fun. Besides being a little confusing it's colorful and a blast to read. Well worth jumping on, especially if fans of the movies. A 3.5 out of 5, but I'll hit it to a 4.

So this is it. It's over.
I cried like a baby. Okay not really. But it's still very sad it's over.
So is it the end of all things? Is it going to go out in a big war fashion? Yes and no.
Finally the big brawl happens and we know who faces off against who. That goes without saying. Then we try to close up all loose ends with Robot. It's a big brawl there but one that is satisfying. Once that's out of the way where do we go? How does it end? What big threat will occur? Well...it's the end. And so we begin to build up the next storyline. And it a oversized issue we got a ending truly worthy of the title. A life time of events summed up quickly yet it somehow all comes together really well.
Good: The ending. The last issue. Top 10 last issues ever easily. It gives you the feels like a mofo, and ending worthy of tears, and also of happiness. You see characters you love grow, and you see where they were and how the ended. The way people become bitter, or happy, the way things changed, it's all really well done. Nothing is simple, but neither is life, and it works together flawlessly.
Bad: Some Robot stuff gets wrapped up too quick.
I loved it. It's over and I'm sad but I'm glad it ended the way it did. I couldn't ask for a better ending. It's a 5 out of 5 easy. So as I say goodbye to Invincible I can't help but feel there will be a void for me and superhero comics. I don't know if anything will be like this again, a huge inspiration to my own comic, I can't express how much I love this series. Again, a 5 out of 5, and worth reading multiple times.

I told myself a long time not to read the manga of this. Why? The anime is done so well, the fights so amazing, I didn't think the manga could live up to it. Was I right? Kind of.
So if you don't know attack on titan (Come on now) it's about these giant naked people running around eating humanity till we're almost completely wiped out. So we decide to defend ourselves, build a giant wall (Hi Trump) and try to fight back. They create this gear that makes them zip around like spider-man and blades to cut the back of the neck of a titan to kill it. Seems easy right? Well obviously not cause these titans are quick, dangerous, and will fucking eat you in a 2nd. Think Zombies, but faster, and the size of Godzilla.
Good: Loved how fast paced this volume is. Just like the start of the anime you get to know the characters just enough to get ready for all hell to break loose. The fights are brutal, the deaths are high, and the darkness overtakes your hope a lot. Also the art is actually pretty solid and the designs are really great.
Bad: There's the fights, which are fun, but like I expected don't blow me away like the anime. Also, some of the characters introduced are so annoying (but they change later) but I could see why I didn't like some at the start.
Attack on Titan is a great series. It's dark, it's action packed, people die quickly, and everyone feels like they could die at any moment. It makes it highly entertaining. Where this volume ends is what hooked me to the anime. Check this out if you haven't yet. A 4 out of 5.

Pluto is past it's midway point so a lot is being revealed.
This book mostly focuses on Gesicht and his past. It's a interesting take on the whole "did I or did I not kill a human" and one I thought was handled well. I also like how everything is coming undone. There's no hero so far who is stopping this gigantic evil fucking tornado of hell. The KR (KKK for robots) is coming down to their final plans and it's all coming to a big showdown.
Good: The art is still amazing. I love the pacing of this volume, it's highly entertaining and easy to sit and read in one seating. Also, how awesome was Hercules? Some sick moments from him. The ending leads up to a lot of "Well what now" but I'm very eager to find out how we'll end this one.
Bad: Some confusing dialog and panels.
Overall pluto remains one of the best mangas I read in awhile. A easy 4 out of 5.

Tokyo Ghoul volume 4 is all about world building. Giving time for other characters to be introduced and learning about the life of other ghouls.
This volume introduces Shuu Tsukiyama, who just so happens to love eating other Ghouls. He also host a dinner in which ghouls simply tear apart other humans/ghouls and eat them. Pretty screwed up, huh? The rest of the volume also focuses on Kaneki learning to become a fighter. It's pretty interesting to see a training session and that he just doesn't become a warrior overnight. Always refreshing.
Good: The volume gives us Shuu Tsukiyama, the psycho, and for that alone it's entertaining. I also loved watching Kaneki grow and begin to realize this world isn't as simple as black and white, and there's a lot of grey morality questions.
Bad: It's slower paced and probably the least action volume. Not that it's a horrible thing but it feels dramatically slowed down compared to the last few volumes.
Overall another solid volume. Not mindblowing but this was pretty kickass. I'ma go with a 3.5 out of 5.

This was decent. I mean there's some fun moments. Watching Punisher and Doctor Strange be crazy as fuck together facing off against demons in their own special way was fun but nothing super memorable. If looking for something easy to read and decent, and you enjoy Doctor Strange and Punisher, you'll probably enjoy this. A 2.5 out of 5.
