WE ARE FAMILY!

This book was great! I absolutely enjoyed the Vikings aspect and thought it was a truly unique approach.

There was a big focus on family and blood above all. It was different then the usual way of focusing on solely the love aspect of it. BUT NOT TO PUT THAT DOWN because "SWOON". I love Fiske.

I love that it wasn't love at first sight, there was a bitter angst that was so deeply rooted it took a bit for Eelyn's heart to warm up. This allowed a progression in the book for both characters.

Eeyln really comes to know who she is. She loses herself and finds that fire within to gain it back before the final battle descends. Thanks to her family, and her new-found family they're able to reach peace.

Also, that cover is GORGEOUS.

Thank you so much to the publisher for sending me a digital ARC!

SO GOOD. SO GOOD.

This book was amazing! I have enjoyed this series so much and have all the feels now that it's over.

The characters were great and I loved their dynamics, the sassiness, and how they all worked so well together.

These books are so cool with the way they're set up. It's so creative and I can only imagine how long it took to get this series together.

BLEH.

This book annoyed me to no end. Meira is a wishy-washy character. She can't make her mind up about anything. The majority of the book is her explaining the entire scene in her head and then going back and forth on what she should do. Then, EUREKA she comes up with a plan and finally freakin' decides.

My ship also sunk, so that's not cool either haha.

Mather's chapters are also superfluous. They don't matter til about the last one when he finally joins the fray.

Debating the third book at this moment.

ALL THE FEELS.

This book reminded me of The Fault in Our Stars. Yet, with another component added in, drug addiction.

Davis is trying to remain sober, and having previously dealt with childhood cancer, he has many reasons to stay clean, even more so when he meets Cason.

Cason, a ballerina, has now learned she has cancer and has to come to terms with her new identity and lifestyle.

These two characters create a sweet, real young love story. They both had to deal with their internal struggles before they could stand on their own together. While the 'drama' may be minimal, you feel for them all the same.

The turmoil of Cason and Davis pulls on the heartstrings. While personally never going through something so intense, it makes you think all the same: Do we all get a happy ending?

OH MY GOODNESS THIS BOOK WAS SO GOOD.

Read it.

The world building is amazing, I can't even fathom what our world would be like if it was like this. Having the Thunderhead be the controlling part of the universe, being concerned with gleaning, and a myriad of other issues.

Shusterman creates such a great story that you can't help but speed read to the end. His characters are complicated, intense, and without remorse.

WHAT A FINALE.

At last, Falling Kingdoms comes to an end. It was a great series and one I thoroughly enjoyed.

I appreciate that the nefarious characters who needed to meet their demise, did. Nobody likes loose ends. Or Gods to run amok.

Also, Cleo & MAGNUS. Yet again, I'll say I love them. Well, I love Magnus. All of his dark, broodiness and sassiness. 💓

OH MY GOODNESS THAT ENDING.

I don't even know where to begin.

Once again I was completely enamored by this story. I love all of the POVs and the world-building that creates such a dynamic book.

Cleo & Magnus get me every time (Magnus is my favorite POV). I love their banter, yet uncompromising will to help each other. Watching their relationship blossom is great.

I feel for so many of these characters (especially Nic & Jonas 😭), so I applaud Rhodes and her ability to create enough character depth for all the feelings...

TOUGH TO GET THROUGH.

There wasn't much going for this book overall then that I had been warned that this book isn't the best, but necessary to the rest of the story.

Lets hope that's true!

SOLID ENDING.

I'm leaning towards more of a 4.5 star rating as my husband said I didn't say it was AMAZING, just really good haha.

I felt the book dragged in sections, but I enjoy that Hamilton doesn't create super long descriptive sections that I find boring. I wish there was more of Jin & Amani throughout the book, but I'm not complaining with how it ended!

I knew there were factors in the book that would alter the ending, but I couldn't figure out exactly how the conflicts would resolve and while I'm distraught over some of the deaths, it still came to a good conclusion.

I love that Hamilton also adds chapters that are written from more of a 'story teller' perspective. Without being another POV it enables you to understand what happened in other portions of the desert without Amani being there.

I also would like to note that it is definitely YA, there's only one true 'love' scene and it's written appropriately for [somewhat] younger audiences and not in detail or anything (which I appreciate personally as well).

This series was great! I look forward to seeing what Hamilton writes next.

NOT TOO SHABBY.

I figured out the main plot 'twist' very early on, but I wasn't sure how it was going to work out, so I kept reading haha. The love triangle was kind of in the way, yet I don't know who Meira should end up with because generally I've already made up my mind (and then hate the entire series if they don't end up with that person 😂).

Definitely dragged through some sections having to learn the history of Winter, but overall it was a pretty good read. I'll be downloading the next one.
